Going to Iceland as my first solo (female) travel destination in 4 days! super anxious but this video was very helpful, hope I will enjoy it as much as you did!
Thank you for posting! Iceland is a beautiful and safe country. I strongly advise buying the Ororo heated vest, $60 from Amazon, and buy an extra battery. I used it for Antarctica and only needed 1 long sleeve shirt underneath. It can also charge your cell on the go. About snacks, cliff bars are packable and really do the trick to solve your hunger. Thank you for telling us how much you paid for food. This was enlightening!
@@fabianibarra6877 It was amazing!! Love it 😍😍 last 3 days, I had issues with my car and met with an accident. Other than these, I loved the trip. Best ever experience!! 😬😁😁 And ya love your video 😍😍!! Thanks a lot!! It helped me a lot for my first solo trip
This was SO helpful. I will be going to Iceland on a Solo trip this fall. I have never been on a plane at all, anywhere. So I am extra preparing for my trip! I am so excited, and grateful to learn that Iceland is a very safe country, it put my mind at ease! :)
Fantastic video! Great tips! Add one, the hotels all have these heated towel racks. FANTASTIC for drying your stuff. I even washed my clothes in the sink and used those towel racks to dry my stuff. They would dry anything in a couple of hours! Another one I thought, they make beanie hats with internal plastic liners. FIND ONE. The Iceland clothing line 66 degrees sells them but they are EXPENSIVE there. The wind in Iceland can burst up to 50 degrees fast and it is COLD. Those hats are amazing in that wind, and keep the moisture off you too.
Amazing video!!! Thanks for the insight on your trip. I’m about to finish converting a school bus to solo around North America so excited to start traveling!
Hey Kaitlyn, i just saw your instructional video since im in the process of thinking about a solo trip to Iceland. I am quite experienced solo, doing lots of long motorcycle trips by myself but i wanted to let you know that i found your videi very touching!
When you hit your elbow I laughed out loud for the first time today after a nearly sleepless night and a day from hell at work... Counting down the days before I go to Iceland in March. Thanks ;-)
I just wanted to say... Thank you for the video and advice... I make my solo trip in Iceland... And because of you... I'm happy now. Thank you one more time
I would be so terrified to travel alone 😬 even tho you where able to meet a lot of people from around the world who where also traveling, I’d still be so nervous all the time!
Hi.. I am planning a trip in the beginning of September and would like to know which car rental company you rented with? Also, is it necessary to rent a 4x4 in September?
Hi! I rented through a company called IceCarRentals I think. And it depends on where you want to go! For my particular itinerary and budget, I didn't end up renting a 4x4 and it worked perfect. But if you want to travel into the highlands you should have a 4x4!
I think I only had to fill up once which was nice because it is expensive! But I definitely had to plan ahead because you can only really find gas stations in the major cities/towns from what I remember.

Good luck! I'm doing the same thing in 8 days! This video was really useful 👍

Go to Taiwan! Very safe country in general and safe for women to travel to alone! Easy to get around. Loads of wonderful experience and people.
Great video! I am going to Iceland in August and your tips are really helping to give myself some expectations and get ready :)
Thank you so much for all the tips Kate. I’m thinking about going to a solo trip. You encouraged me very much.

They should make umbrellas with holes in them to let the wind through!
still need to take a trip alone
Awesome tips!!! Thanks so much, Kate : )

Why is ths channel has not a million sub
My home❤
Could you tell us how much you approximately spent on your whole trip?
The wind. We were at the top of skogafoss, on a trail. The wind was unreal. Looked back and my girlfriend was on her a$$! Hilarious
Where are you now?
How much did you budget for your trip?
Nice video

How much was the popcorn chicken?😀
Is this a good place to make friends? I love traveling alone, but like making friends along the way.
Did the fuel for the car lasted for your entire week? Were the gas stations accessible?
I think I only had to fill up once which was nice because it is expensive! But I definitely had to plan ahead because you can only really find gas stations in the major cities/towns from what I remember.
Where was the grocery store? I will be staying in the same air bnb you did!
If you are referring to the one in Reykjavik, the grocery store is on the main street near the large church if I remember correctly!
How do we commute to the scenic places if we travel solo abd dont drive?
Are there Ubers in Iceland ?
can someone expand on rental cars? do u need international driver's license? do they have automatic vehicles?
You don't need an international driver's license and yes, they have automatic vehicles!
