  • I lazily the together this video, sorry in advance! For all the folks complaining about music, here is your chance to revel in the glory of music free video! Don't get too comfortable.
Anyway I'm about half way through making this head, I hope it rips.

I know it's way too soon, but any estimated weight (guess) for the entire engine? I still think the Thumpair is what I'll end up with but Chris did mention the Duromax in one of our telephone conversations a few months ago. Looking forward to seeing how this one turns out.

The billet head adds one pound to the engine. Thump-air is 63 lbs complete (ready to run, including carb, exhaust, etc) equipped with pull and electric start. The recommended prop is 1.8 lbs.
Duromax engine won't cut it. I tired one, and it's now in a box on a shelf thoroughly cooked 💣💥☠️☠️

duramax just came out with a 500cc engine, why isnt there any videos of your aerolite 103 test flights of 460cc engine around the pattern yet? cant find any airtime progress with badlands as well?

We are working on it and hoping to produce new content soon. Both my business and badland aircraft are one man operations and we wear a lot of hats in our day to day. There has been a lot of testing going on behind the scenes to find the best combination of parts and tuning to make this a ready to fly out of the box setup.
The 500 isn't a good option at this time unfortunately. It's pretty neat don't get me wrong, but there is a serious lack of replacement parts and zero aftermarket support for it.

How do regular people get access to these CNC machines?

I'm a regular person. I saved money and bought a used machine. I then moved it with a clapped out old diesel truck I bought and fixed up. The I rented a fork truck to get it into my garage. Then figured out how it worked. Then I figured out how to engineer parts. It was not an easy process by any means.
