What a tone to be proud of. Cool playing to I love the inspiration these tones give and my very similar gear that creates them. Thanks so much for the video!
Everyone in the comment section pretty much took the words right out of my mouth. You have such an amazing guitar tone. I totally get a Michael Landau and a Dann Huff vibe in this song. Fantastic playing.
Stumbled upon it while searching stuff from Dann Huff. Love it, and your sarcastic comments spice it up :) Wonder whether you could provide your backing track in oder to noodle around with it. Would be greatly appreciated!
Hi.. and thanks. The «backing track» is an original by me. Unfortunately I had a hardware crash a while back and lost all the music I had created for the last 6 years.. including this. So, sorry.. can’t help you. But, thanks.
Thank you! That’s very kind of you to say. Unfortunately I don’t have this setup anymore and I don’t remember exactly what I used so I won’t be able to make you a guide. That being said, getting all the gear is only a fraction of the sound.. as YT demonstrates every day. Hopeful souls failing to cop the schmo even tho they got the gear. It’s lots of different subtle things.. and one of the most important thing is how you play and what you play. Sad but true. I was never completely happy with the sounds I got, but I guess no one ever is. Happy tone hunting. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.
Wow. I agree. That was awesome !!! I need some controllers and drumkit. Wish I could make complete tracks. That and learn to mix and play a bit better hahah.
Thanks! Well, it’s basically what you see in the video. Cleans are recorded direct through the BAE mic pre with added SPX90 pitch, TERC chorus + reverb and delay. The dirty tone is my ‘71 Marshall boosted with a Wilson FX Sparkling Blue.
Unfortunately, no.. I’m sorry. I’ll do another song here soon tho.. It’s difficult to find the time. I have all the basic tracks down and a good mix going so I just need to get a solo and vid done.
Haha Thanks. I dunno, I just made it up on the spot. Turned out good. I like it. Happy with the sounds. Pretty happy with the drums sounds this time and I have a new bass guitar which sounds better than the old one so I feel the low end is tighter too. Or, I’m just.. fooled. Maybe a break did me good. Oh I dunno. Think I’ll make another clip.
Hi Marius, theres a clean strumming part on the left side of the track from 0:24 to 0:39 thats just incredible ! is there anyway we can know what you were doing there ?
Hey. It’s that Tyler in the video, the Malibu Shmear. Mid boost on. Bridge/mid pickup position. (Bridge HB is split) I go direct into a BAE312a and then through the rack.. DBX Comp, SPX90, 1210 or Terc (can’t remember). I think there’s a tiny amount of reverb from the PCM70. That’s about it. I eq’ed it a bit post. Maybe added a tad more compression. Hope that helps.
@@AhmadSleeq Dude, tbh.. I can’t remember. These short clips are just improvised. All my stuff is in storage atm, but when I get set up again I’ll dig out the session and figure it out 🤪🤘🏻
@@marsa6 that was good to know but i swear i keep coming back to that specific part because it just takes me back to my childhood idk why. something about the harmony with the other parts !
Hi! ..and thanks for the question. The simple answer is: I love’em all!! These are all quality units with imo exceptional sound. You can’t go wrong with any of them. That being said, I seem to favor one over the other based on what I want to hear. They sound different, so you choose the one which best suits the sound you are trying to achieve at any given moment. Or, if you only have one.. you just use that and be happy. It doesn’t really matter. I can add that if you’re going for the big clean schmojo sound, it helps to have both pitch and chorus although not essential. The key to the tone is what you play and how you play it. Delay is also a big part of that tone.
Really awesome tones! I've just returned from tweaking live sounds and so I find your sounds have way too much presence but that's what we hear when our ears get fatigued... for recording very cool, I guess.
