    Just wanted to let you know that you do an excellent job of teaching. I have been making things with my hands for a long time and it has been great to see a young man such as yourself doing what you do. Cary on this great tradition. By the way well done on the ornament. 🖒

    Man this Video was just what I needed!!! Given the task of making Christmas ornaments this year. I like the way you walk through the steps. Making it easy to return the demonstration on my own ornaments.

    Liked the suggestion about gluing! As a relative newbie, its the little hints that seem to hit home. I suppose most experienced turners would have known that...but not me LOL! Great job...beautiful work.

    Great Job Darryl! I made one similar last Christmas, but didn't hollow it out enough and it was almost to heavy to hang on the tree.

    Ok! Wow! That was great! What is the finish on the final hollow form? Great shine! I bet the lights on the tree will really make it pop.🎄

    Very nice ornament. A great family heirloom too. Was that a Cindy Drozda gouge? Looked like one. I consider Cindy to be the Finial Queen. She is amazing. Thanks for the seasonal inspiration buddy.

    • @DreadKnotWoodshop
      @DreadKnotWoodshop  6 років тому +1

      Thank you Charlie! No it isn't a Cindy Drozda gouge. I am using a Robert Sorry 3/8" spindle gouge that I converted to a detail gouge (or my version of one). I actually happened upon the profile by accident before I learned how to sharpen my tools properly. Cindy does a fantastic job and I have used the drawing that she has in her feed for proportioning of finials during my finial turning journey. Thanks for watching.

    nice. well done with the finials also. too many that I see are "fat" and visually heavy. my only comment would be to bake the globe just a hair less flat on the top and bottom. You typically still want a bit of a squashed sphere. keep it up
