Honestly it's what makes them good leaders for the Krogan, they don't hold only to combat or want of battle, they value their allies and aren't afraid to show it. To me it's a good way to show what is valuable in people, as if you're willing to just brush your team/peers aside for someone, that person must be worth something great and figuring out why is a good way to learn what you might be lacking.
Yeah if you live on a planet without arachnids or insects or any arthropod-like creatures then they're probably going to terrify you once you do encounter them off world either because they'll be too alien or too far in uncanny valley for you to handle
I apprecitate Tali, but after playing Shadow Broker DLC, it feels really wrong to cheat on Liara. Once you go blue, there's no one else you'd rather do.
I did this once for the meme but hearing how much she HATED being on that mission made me never do it again. Was like I dragged Tali into the worst escape room possible for her. 🤣

Something I just noticed is the way Krogan speak. To look someone in the eye they turn their head seeing as their eyes are on the sides of their head. I guess they’re considered the prey species, which compared to Thresher Maws makes sense. That’s a neat little detail BioWare put in to all three games

What i love are the reactions, First you get grunt, charging through his team to meet you, judging by their reactions the Krogan probably know shepard by name at least as they don't take to much umbridge with being shoved aside by their commander to see this one lone human and his squad of misfits. Grunt's probably talked their ears off about the missions he went on with Shepard, with the same kind of respect one might show a battlemaster, a clan leader or a parent. (Which I think if they could go back and rerecord some of this they might of had grunt refer to shepard as 'father' or 'mother' if you where truly close to him in ME2. As a lot of people like to see grunt as their kid.) Then you have Javik's direct reaction to realizing who and what grunt is. And of course, tali, god that poor woman is just being dragged through her own living nightmare down there. also 'Bosh'tet' Like, don't jumpscare tali, she has a shot gun.
This is why Tali is the most relatable character in the game. I imagine I would have a similar reaction seeing a horde of giant spiders rushing at me. Though I suspect my advice would always be to burn the rachni queen, it being a giant spider.
the best interaction ive found so far is priority Sur'kesh with liara and garrus. it feels like such a trip down memory lane and the banter between them is like an old family i love it.
Well that and it mite be an inside joke by the devs since in mass effect 1 tali’s kit let her pretty much demolish anything and anyone except….rachni…. Only enemies in the game with acid attacks that bypass her shields completely. Can one shot her and engineer shep even on easy.
I am pretty sure every companion will comment on how the queen is wounded and would need time to escape if it is the real queen. If it is the false reaper queen every companion will comment on how they are not sure if releasing her is a good idea.

I almost always being Javik to missions. But I like to mix it up, bring james or ashley sometimes. They complained so much about not being picked in the citadel dlc so 🤣
I love doing this mission with Garrus and Tali. Garrus is my FemShep's one and only, Grunt is their adopted son, and Tali is their shy best friend who really, really wants a threesome with Shep & Garrus. I view this mission as the Shepard household version of a family picnic. (As an aside, is FemShep/Garrus' couple name Sheparian or Vakkard?)
I love how your Krogan companions are typically antisocial if they can help it in the games they’re introduced in but decide that they really miss Shepard between games and will drop whatever they’re doing to say hi when you show up.

I usually complete this mission before I pick up Tali, so it was nice to see her view of things. And that reaction to "spiders, spiders, SPIDERS!" was absolutely hilarious! I think each member of the team has their least favourite (if you can say that) type of Reaper to fight... I think I remember one of the guys (Vega, Cortez or Garrus, maybe) saying they are creeped out by the harvesters...
Burned 200 worlds!!! When Javik talks, the incredible might of the Prothean Empire at it's height is made clear. They were actually probably the strongest adversaries the Reapers ever defeated. They were, militarily wise, far stronger than the Galactic community in Shepard's time.

Yes you can. Adept gets Cluster Grenades. Infiltrator gets Sticky Grenades. Sentinel gets Lift Grenades. Soldier gets Frag Grenades. There is even a grenade bonus power. Inferno Grenades, which you get from Ashley Williams. There are also Proximity Mines from Garrus Vakarian. Sure they aren't technically grenades, but they are a nice alternative that doesn't rely on consumables. If you're playing an Engineer or Vanguard and want to throw grenades, make sure you have at least one playthrough where Ashley lives. It is also possible to throw grenades in Mass Effect 2. Kasumi Goto has Flash Bang Grenades and Zaeed Massani has Inferno Grenades. These rely on cooldowns and are options for bonus powers. Grenades in Mass Effect 2 are underwhelming, however, if you want a grenade spamming Commander Shepard, you can do so with any class in all three games. For ME 1 you have those tech mines, For ME 2 you need bonus powers and for ME 3 you either play Adept, Infiltrator, Sentinel, Soldier, or grab grenades from Ashley Williams. You can also get proximity mines from Grrus Vakarian.
The game wanted to re-introduce the grenade weapon from 1 to replace the carriable heavy weapon from 2. Each class gets a ammo-fueled grenade-based power. Engineer's is unique in that it doesn't require ammo and turns into a sentry turret.
I take Garrus and Liara on every mission I can. Concussion Shot and Overload with a Black Widow. Singularity and Warp with a Tempest. Thanks for showing this combo, as I hate playing this mission!

Have to say the rachni Queen sounds way more menacing here than in ME1 & ME2 Think I will save this mission for after I get Tali and take her and Garrus. Though I guess you don’t get the Wrex scene doing it this way.
I always carry tali in my squad. In me1 her hacking abilities makes me loads of cash, me2 because her drone essentially is like having another squadmate and me3 just because shes awesome and no one can replace her, which can be said for all 3 games. My only issue is that they shouldve made it so you could romance her in me1 in the legendary edition

I always let the queen go in ME1 and again in ME3. Maybe out of practicality, since rachni are very talented engineers thus making them a great asset for construction of the Crucible. I'm not saying Aralakh Company is worthless though.

They're not a 'prey' species per say... they simply evolved that way as a survival mechanism, given that Tuchanka was basically a death world.

For reference- I started playing this trilogy the day the first game dropped on the Xbox 360. I have purchased and played every title/DLC the second they dropped across every platform, so try again. Just to add a little more salt because you deserve it...we (fiancee and I) own the Mass Effect Legendary Edition on both the Series X and PS5...I played through each version. No go waste someone else's time. Javix, Javix, Javix. ;)

I usually bring James & Javik for this one, James seems to be the only one who properly reacts to seeing the harvested Rachni corpses in the last mission on Tuchanka just within the krogan ruins
I never brought James to anything I didn’t have to. He just struck me as a boring teammate not worth investing time into

Think I will save this mission for after I get Tali and take her and Garrus. Though I guess you don’t get the Wrex scene doing it this way.

I always carry tali in my squad. In me1 her hacking abilities makes me loads of cash, me2 because her drone essentially is like having another squadmate and me3 just because shes awesome and no one can replace her, which can be said for all 3 games. My only issue is that they shouldve made it so you could romance her in me1 in the legendary edition

I feel like I am the only one who remembers how acid in ME1 bypasses even super-powerful shields. So we could defeat Reapers with Rachni spit.

I always let the queen go in ME1 and again in ME3. Maybe out of practicality, since rachni are very talented engineers thus making them a great asset for construction of the Crucible. I'm not saying Aralakh Company is worthless though.
