There has been a lot of furnace fails up here in the northeast with late model Airstreams. I have a 2020 Globetrotter 27 and had furnace problems the last few months. I finally changed the Sail Switch and it’s working fine now. I’m reading online lots of people having the same issue and spending lots of money on repair when all it is is the sail switch! 3 minute fix!
Not that I am aware of. Antennas are designed to support specific frequency ranges so anything outside of the TV broadcast range would not be supported. Appreciate the comment and thanks for watching.
Thank you so much for doing these videos. We are new owners of a 2019 23’ Flying Cloud FB. The learning curve is daunting but you flesh out the highlights particularly safety and security. It’s exactly what we need to know before the maiden voyage. We put you on in the morning before work while having a coffee. 😊
Wonderful, and congratulations on your new Flying Cloud. FYI my new book, My Airstream Mentor, is being published today. Please look for it on Amazon and I'm sure you will like it. Thanks for watching.

Hello! I wish I had seen this 5 years ago when I bought my AS but, I still got some good info from it. I had a question about the water pump - I am having the issue you mentioned where my fresh water tank gets filled when I'm hooked up to city water. Also, water pump is represurizing quite often, and loudly! Trying to figure out the needed fix.
I cover all of the troubleshooting tips for water pump issues in my book, link below. Try to remove and clean the strainer, look for a clear plastic piece with a screen inside. Next, you may have a bad back flow valve; this will cause the city water to go directly into the holding tank, Good luck and thanks for watching. The book, My Airstream Mentor: amzn.to/3dHCYuN
On the outside and underbelly yes, but inside like what you see in the video the openings allow heat down to the holding tanks and is good for winter camping. Not sure what rockwool is but I like copper mesh which protect rodents better than steel wool. Thanks for watching.
Thank you Danny and Lynn for the kind comments. You have a great channel and I just subscribed; only a few more to hit the magic 1000. I have 2 books, My RV Mentor and coming February 14th, My Airstream Mentor. Maybe you would like to do a video reviewing the books for your viewers? Thanks again for watching.
@@LandingZoneHome how exciting! Congratulations. We may very well have to do that! I do love to read, and keep a book going all the time. Lynn and Danny
@@RVAmerica BTW, watched your UA-cam Tax Tips and I just did my taxes yesterday. I used H&R Block for Small Business and it nailed everything. Your tips gave me confidence I was on the right track. Now I'm still waiting on a Google Adsense 1099.
@@LandingZoneHome so glad it was helpful. they actually have until the 31st of January to put them in the mail. So you should have them one day this coming week, unless they're running behind. LOL
That was a great tip on disabling the tongue jack. Of course a savvy thief may know about using a socket and wrench but it can keep the little campground creatures from messing with your level.
While the converter is a battery charger, when plugged into shore power it actually supplies all of the DC loads in the trailer. The battery essentially acts as a ripple filter in this case.
Oh, I think the battery has to be there. My point was that when plugged in, the power for DC loads is not really coming from the battery, but is being supplied by the converter. Converters all produce ripple, and the battery is needed to smooth it out.
Yes, and when it fails, you need to run an external battery charger to maintain power to your rig for lights, fans and other 12V circuits. Have to have the factory replace my converter - cannot reach it where it is on my FC26
I've owner other brands and they are all about the same. But I do think Airstream takes the extra effort at assembly and design to enhance quality. And again, all makes and models will have issues, I just feel fewer in the Airstream. Check some of my other videos, I have been very critical on Airstream on certain issues. Thanks you Gerard for watching.
I was glad to see them go Victron and wish/hope my 2022 Flying Cloud CB23 bunk that arrives August 1, they’ve gone 100% Victron- charger, inverter, controllers….
One focus of the video is to help AS owners explore their own unit and obtain a deeper understanding. I do appreciate your comment and thank you for watching.
This is the type of video that many people new to RV's need to see. Its kinda sad to see that Airstream is using WFCO panels, converters, and inverters. I would have hoped they were using higher quality products. I see you have a 50 amp shore power which is significantly different in some respects than 30 amp which is found in the vast majority of travel trailers. The two green fuses, generally 30 amp, that are found in the converter or fuse panel of units with converters integrated into the power panel, are reverse current fuses and will generally only blow if someone attempts to connect the battery(s) backwards. These fuses will not blow for converter "overloads" or other more normal situations.

First I have heard of a large number of sail switch failures but this is one of the common failures. I appreciate the info and thanks for watching.
Thank you for all the info I do not see in other vids. I am planning on a Trade wind or similar and as a newbie I am learning all I can.
Thank you for the very kind comment, very glad you find value in my videos. Wish you well.
Thank you for your video. Which Airstream park is shown at the beginning of the video?
This is Horse Cave KOA in Kentucky but the intro is Top of Georgia. Thanks.
Thanks for the great tips on the hidden mechanical and electrical items on Airstreams.
You are welcome and thanks for watching. You may also want to check out my Airstream book here: amzn.to/3iM5ePq

Good job. I like insulating air leaks like with rockwool were the holes are fit wiring. Your thoughts?

Yes, these modern generation converters don't need a batter to supply 12v to the Airstream. Thanks for watching.

Our 2020 Flying Cloud does not have Victron products, as far as I know.
I knew it was on 2021 and "maybe" some of the late year model 2020. Thanks for watching.
Read that Aurstream uses a lot of plastic ( knobs, handles etc)

It looks like the red plastic plug is still in your water heater's pressure relief valve.
Haha, goes to show how new this Airstream is. Thanks for watching.
Your video format doesn't work with UA-cam yet. Just black screen
Tim sorry you are having problems seeing the video but many other viewers can see it. Thanks for trying and I hope you will try again later.
All of these ‘secrets’ are in the owners manual. Every model is different in layout , plumbing and electrical arrangement
