Hello..from Massachusetts...wonderful..just great. Back in 1980 I bought 15 or so AWI Britains swoppets ;Continentals and Brit Grenadiers. The past couple of years have been adding to collection. I have some metal Britains: flag bearers, drummers ..officers with swords raised. Have some more swoppets on the way. I didnt know they were called that until a couple of years ago. Its great fun.
Hi Alex. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Yes, I have some of their AWI swoppets and also their Civil War federals and confederates. I remember that as a kid everybody wanted the figures in butternut brown.
Exquisite storytelling, and not one iota of CGI evident. More of this glorious stuff. (PS - do you recall a certain lunchtime lecture at nam about lead soldiers by a certain head of commercial services? Highlight was the brilliant tangent about the “My Little Abattoir” set ... oh happy days!)
Very nice review. As a child of the "Airfix Generation" I was also aware of Britains, but I had no idea how good their medieval Swoppets were. Pity they aren't made now. The Ukrainian firm Redbox make a nice range of Wars of the Rose's figures in 1/72. Although as they are unpainted and smaller, they will lack the visual impact of your Swoppets! You can see the various ranges by visiting the Plastic Soldier Review website.
Again..Hi..continuing to watch...Ive become aware that the knights are popular now I understand why..tremendous !..see what you have done now! Well maybe one or two. I will continue with AWI having grown up in eastern MA..southwest of Boston..historical area and REV WAR 250 on..cant disappoint the 13 yr old I once was..Im sure you understand..:)
These are the finest plastic knights ever made. Still have the ones my Dad bought me as a child in the 60's.
Sehr schöne Ritterfiguren und dann noch von Britain ❤👍🇬🇧.Als Kind davon eine anständige Menge und es war ein wunderbarer Tag.
