I love this diorama. I’ve always been a Civil War buff. This reminds me of the Dobbin House Diorama, which is featured in the youth edition of Bruce Catton’s “This Hallowed Ground”. Keep up the great work!
Very nice setup. What I wouldn't give for a room or basement for my setup. I have a few thousand 1/32 soldiers I've painted from gladiators, knights etc., through Vietnam. I paint them, set up dioramas on my dining room table then take photos. I have created some nice books on Shutterfly but wish I had space to leave them set up. I notice you don't appear to prime the figures before painting. Do you notice the paint adhearing and lasting without priming? Thanks for sharing.

CBS 58 - Thank you for doing this piece! History is important. There were truly good Americans - and some bad Americans (note the PoW camps!) on both sides! For example: had it not been for Robert E. Lee acting on his own initiative, St. Louis, MO would not exist as it does today, because it had been flooded repeatedly, so Lee diverted the Mississippi River! Furthermore, General Winfield Scott was authorized by President Lincoln to offer Lee overall command of the Union Army, which Lee declined, as he had intended to sit out the conflict. Ulysses S. Grant and William T. Sherman held many of the Confederate Generals in high regard. Grant wanted the nation restored - unfortunately many Northern politicians were vengeful and vindictive. Also, Lee would not tolerate anyone speaking ill of Grant in his presence after the war. Reunions were held at Gettysburg up into the 1930's where BOTH sides (white as well as black soldiers) - would meet and reminisce. (As of the date of this post, there are still many videos of newsreels on youtube showing the Reunions,)
