It’s called putting in your time… I’ve seen plenty of high speed amn get on patrol faster than others but that’s because they outshined the other amn, but most of the time the low ranking amn get that gate duty… just gives you motivation to get your QC done and get promoted as fast as you can. If you were always on the gate or in the search pit you probably weren’t a very high speed amn… 🤷🏽♂️
As a security forces, I can say this is true. But I do have to disagree with the gender part. At my last base, if you were an airman, specially brand new, you'll end up in the posts nobody else wants. Because the Sgts are the ones running the schedule, not the airmen. And depending on the base, there might be no rotation at all. I remember been told "if you want to be on patrol, QC for leader," when I QCed for leader, I was told "Oh yeah, even if you get patrol, you might not be posted on patrol when you first QC, it might take a while before you start doing a lot of patrol" and one time, I was removed from patrol because they needed a body at the search pit, then leadership got pissed off that flight chief took me (the certified patrol body) off patrol to put a non-certified brand new SSgt there. They changed the posting quickly, put him at the search pit and put me back on patrol. The Sgt wasn't too happy to be posted at the search pit, to say the least. Lack of rotation does happen
Flew with some Ravens 👍🏾 solid dudes. And yes, the hate is real, no lies told. We had certain aircrew members (known pricks nobody liked) cap at these dudes 🤷🏾♂️
He said you 12 😂.
Maybe they didn’t see you as the patrol archetype. Or maybe they was hating…
I was stationed at Dover 82-85. Loved it there, but then the career field was separated, and I worked as a Ptrolman/LE. Made Ssgt at Dover.
As a former Security Forces airman myself I see you about 90% accurate on all this

Also, when I was in, Security Police worked 6 and 3 at most bases, to include both Security and Law Enforcement. 3 swings, 3 mids and 3 days off.
