We will definitely be seeing more of these guys as they progress onto long musical careers. For young musos, they have sh#tloads of talent. Thanks for the vid. :-)
I love how this starts as a quartet. 2nd Tenor has a beautiful tone and an awesome solo. Trombone put a little bit of "Chelsea Danger" by The Fratellis in his intro, I can respect that. Guitar solo was tasty as hell. Overall, 5/8 solos were very well done and they did the chart justice, well done young squires.
See, people that claim to know about jazz and believe that playing more notes means a better solo need to seriously reevaluate what they're listening to...
Darth_Peachez it’s all in the eye or.. eh ear of the beholder ;) I found the first tenor to be more musical with his solo but the second tenor is a technical monster
Jazz improv is hard as hell for the first years, you have to stick to the form, memorize EVERY scale in that form, play it in an order that is pleasing, all by yourself in front of hundreds of people Sometimes people in the audience have no knowledge of what's going on. And when you just play random notes in a scale they thinks you are dumb. You ever done an improvised solo as a teenager?
@zackjazz413 c jam is a pretty laid back chart, even in a big band setting, so i disagree on the shout chorus. as for the trumpets...well...it's c jam. the chart of a whooping 2 different notes. granted, the arrangement gave them more then the original, but that doesn't mean they weren't still bored as hell with hte part (the part, not the song mind you) so of course they're gonna change it up by playing high. pros do it all the time. Also, it's a HS band, so they're GOING to try and play higher
it creates his sound easier if you dont know that with mouthpieces your really stupid if i bought a 800 dollar mouthpiece that dosent mean its the best it is whatever creates who i wanna sound like the best and easiest
One of the best 13 minutes of my life
WOW! These young kids are just amazing musicians. How truly talented…

Trombonist did a wonderful solo! So smooth and sultry! Great job!
Woooow!!! I arrived late more than 5 years ago to this day I am happier to have known jazz more deeply
Beautiful - great young musicians
00gpp
that guitar solo ROCKED
Battle of tenors ! Love it! My favourite sax, a tenor. Sadly, during my career I did alto lead, especially with MMB in Florida. JMH
simply the best music.
Man the 2nd tenor was killin it!
the 1st tenor sax solo not at the beginning but at the end man he was killing it but i also liked his solo in the beginning to.
We will definitely be seeing more of these guys as they progress onto long musical careers. For young musos, they have sh#tloads of talent. Thanks for the vid. :-)
Amazing!!
outstanding

the drummer is amazing!!!
Gold...José....Anjos....
Wow ❤!!
This is awesome. I love the lead tenors sound. 6:32- the lick by the lead tenor was so cool
Alto solo is so
sick!
such talent all around, but the altoist did it for me! he was killin em!
so cool!
Shelly Berg! My old college piano teacher! Smart cat!
Yeah!!!
Lead tenor is killin.
The alto player has insanely great feel
Aaron Kranzler also a really crisp tone. I enjoyed his solo
Maravilha!

Please tell us who these people are.

Count Basie is a prime example
That's exactly it
Does anyone else notice the guitar player drop his pick at 1:45? XD what a baller
Piano player - very keen harmonic awareness and a swinging groove
The second tenor is a bright saxophonist. Sounds good, has good ideas,
Terrific drummer.
Enrique Sanchez on lead!
🎷🎷💗
Sweet Piano Solo!
Nice solos...
8:07 ooohh man that was nasty! killin!
LOVE the Chelsea Dagger quote from the lead bone solo
Really good stuff overall though.
Alto has inspiration from John Coltrane
did the bonist quote the fratellis?
Both tenors are realy good to me
Although i think the 2nd tenor was better at playing fast, the 1st tenor was better at making melodies
that 2nd tenor soloist...not much to add to that other than awesome job.
Well, I disagree. I thought after getting through that C-G-C thing he transitioned into a young Coltrane-type sound. I liked it a lot.
@vanderbiltsax what the hell the trombone player had amazing ideas! he was amazing u know nothing
HI TOM!!!
Fuck Yeah! Enrique on Lead!
Just because he played more notes doesn't mean he played better. The fluidity and touch that the lead tenor had beats the 2nd tenor's solo IMO.
@vanderbiltsax just kidding. I meant to say "here."
yea that trombone player is playing sick lines.
The 2nd tenor laid back a little too much at the beginning of his solo...a little draggy, but great ideas.
young trumpet player puff out his cheeks when he play high is that good?
Those theo wannes do wonders
+supersalsa i bet he sounds the same on any piece
+RivieraByBuick well that's just simply not true. why else would he own an 800 dollar mouthpiece if it didn't sound better? rethink your statement
supersalsa umm. cause it helps to create his sound more easily. but not better. rethink your statement.
it creates his sound easier if you dont know that with mouthpieces your really stupid if i bought a 800 dollar mouthpiece that dosent mean its the best it is whatever creates who i wanna sound like the best and easiest
@MMJ420Gardener sarcasm.
I guess sarcasm doesn't translate so well on the internet.
the guitar solo sounded like a piano
Director needs to jump a little less. He looks like Woody Woodpecker. Great performances though.
The awkward moment when the second tenor kinda sounds better than the first...
I don't really like Mr Spark's improvisation... It's too perfect and polished in my opinion. Great technical player though...
our school jaz is just as big, but out teacher says we don't want two basses, even though it's one electric, one "real"
anybody else hate the announcer dude who just walks around and acts all special?
You mean the conductor?... no.. I don't think I hate him.
no he didnt, his technique sucked and he had no soul. Lead tenor did.
trombone player sucks. nothing to see hear, move along.
Lol it was good you just hating
@@JaeCole1 true. The dudes actually a friend of mine, so I have to imagine I was just giving him a hard time. What I found funny 11 years ago...
