  • MANCHESTER CITY CENTRE | A Walking tour through Manchester City Centre to St Peters Square and Oxford Street. Come with me as explore this great city!
Also watch our other tour of Manchester 👉 • MANCHESTER | A walk to...
In this walk we head through the busy streets of Manchester City Centre, walking through the shops and bars and restaurants up to St Peter's Square and along Oxford Street as we head down towards the Arndale Centre
Manchester is a major city in the northwest of England with a rich industrial heritage. The Castlefield conservation area’s 18th-century canal system recalls the city’s days as a textile powerhouse, and visitors can trace this history at the interactive Museum of Science & Industry. The revitalised Salford Quays dockyards now house the Daniel Libeskind-designed Imperial War Museum North and the Lowry cultural centre.
St Peter's Square is a public square in Manchester city centre, England. The north of the square is bounded by Princess Street and the south by Peter Street. To the west of the square is Manchester Central Library, Midland Hotel and Manchester Town Hall Extension.
St Peter's Square is located in the civic quarter of Manchester. Situated on the square are Manchester Central Library and the Midland Hotel.
Known throughout the world as the birthplace of the industrial revolution, Manchester has a proud history in science, politics, music, arts and sport. And today the city combines this heritage with a progressive vision to be a city that delivers surprise and delight in equal measures.
Manchester city centre is jam-packed with unique and eclectic restaurants, bars, shops, museums, galleries, hotels and places to stay whilst the surrounding Greater Manchester boroughs offer a patch-work of visitor experiences including quaint market towns, traditional pubs and beautiful green spaces and waterways to be explored on foot or bike.
The city region is easily navigated, with great transport links both in and around Greater Manchester.

Interesting to see how the city centre has changed in recent times. Thank you for posting this! I think the subtitles at the beginning say Oxford Street but its Oxford Road?

i went to study for a year in manchester. i missed my family and friends and struggled with deep depression and suicidal thoughts and desperately just wanted to go home. the way from chester street opposite to to where bbc radio used to be to palace theatre was my daily walk among many in the city centre. i begged my parents to let me come home or else i am on the brink of going insane. for years after i came home, i kept dreaming of these street. every dream would take place here. i confronted my regret and what ifs in those years. these streets mean the world to me. for me, it was like i had lived another life which has no connection to my real life or real home. no one shared that experience with me. these streets hold a significant part in my heart. a part of me still shivers on the thought of being alone on a cold night walking home here. it was the best place and the worst place in the world. anyways, i digress. i think i need to walk here alone again, and scream and cry and ley down on the pavement crying. i want to hug the 19 year old me and tell him it wasn't his fault, and that if he was alone then, i am here now with him.

The only nice part of Manchester left is around the shambles and college of music, cheethams I think, can’t remember what it was called. This was the oldest part of Manchester and was then extended as the tour shows .I worked in the royal exchange many years ago the history around there is brilliant, all lost now judging how it looks.
