Update: I also just noticed you can color code the different SIMs in the settings to easily tell the difference between the two. This is just one of the amazing things the Pixel 4a can do. What else would you like to know?
thank you for this! got a new pixel and was nervous when it asked me for a PIN and didn't automatically talk about switching over my existing Fi number. Followed your steps and got all set. Appreciate you taking the time to explain this.
The 2 sim card options is a great feature. Great video clearly explaining it. I travel full time so I have Google Fi on my internal sim card..and then buy a sim card in the country I am travelling and I use it for making phone calls in the country I am visiting. Thanks!
Very helpful! So much better than having to call Sprint and was pretty seamless. There were a few screens that showed up between steps for me, but I just scrolled through and caught up pretty quickly. Thanks again.
Hello, Brett... Thank you for sharing this information with all of us. I have just purchased my first Smartphone and it's a Google Pixel 4a; the phone I currently use is a Kyocera flipphone via Verizon, which I do not believe has a sim card, but I really do not know. My question is whether the process you discussed in the video to activate and use my current phone number fort the new Pixel 4a phone will work for me where Verizon is my current cell phone carrier? Is there anything I need to do that's different from your video instructions since I am using a flip phone as opposed to another Smartphone device? Thank you...
Very informative video, I'm a new subscriber and I have a 3a, I'm not a tech person. Kindly tell me what's a Google Fi ? Can I use it in another country?
Purchased a Pixel 4a just to mess with the pure Android experience. I own an LG V60 and love it. However I can't evidently get data connection on Sprint network when I swap the SIM. According to online it should be compatible?
Is there a toggle key option to disable one of the Sims, when not needed, without physically extracting the physical SIM and/or deleting the esim info for the esim?
@@TechWithBrett thanks for the prompt reply but what about the opposite case of disabling the physical SIM and just keeping the esim? Can it be done by a switch without having to physically eject it?
@@TechWithBrett Hopefully, they'll add that option in a future update, or perhaps in Android 12! There are many other ideas that I wish to find a way to suggest but I'm not optimistic about google would even listen!
So how would you have 2 sims/numbers using the same carrier if the only way they identify which number is being used is by the carrier name. So if you had 2 sprint numbers would both just be identified as Sprint or is there some other designation?
Great question and sorry I had to blur out the info on that part. It will let you choose the exact number and what phone it is connected to to swap to the SIM. So it should be pretty easy to know which one you are bringing to the phone. You are also able to change the color in the messaging app to easy distinguish which number you are using.
This is probably a silly question but, If I set up my pixel with the esim option, could I put my physical sim in another phone and use both phones? I sometimes pull out my physical sim and put it on another phone, just to switch things up.
im wondering too !! i work in construction so i rather not take the new pixel 4a to work, but instead use my older phone at work to get any calls and the 4a for everything else. so so having the physical sim in the old phone and the esim of the same number in the 4a would be great.
I wondered this, too. It should be a thing to have multiple phones on one number, like you might do with a landline in a house that has multiple phones
Hey tech with bret i really need your help i keep getting check charger - usb port there moisture in it but there isint so everytime i try to charge my phine i cant unless is on a charging pad but i just want to be able to use the reqular cord charger like how were suppost to ive tryed putting the phone in rice and blow drying it still keep pipping up any suggestions plz let me know

Yes I would. Pixel phones have been a very smooth experience. They are adding many features that have been missing on pure Android and really are great devices.
Sir i have a problem regarding iphone Its not bypassed or a gms or jv set but every time i put my simcard in it. It forced me to activate my mobile again an connect it with wifi which is not normal Can u help me with it or anyone here
I use cricket wireless, I think they use at&t services. So I can just pop my sim card into the 4a and it would work? I'm pretty sure it will but I'm just nervous...

Can I use one sim as esim
And other as physical one
For dual sim connectivity?
Can you send me this phone@100$
dude you're the man, i was on the phone for hours with sprint trying to activate my esim card, with your guidance i got it done in like 5 minutes...

I want to know if i can use the phone just for a camera and apps not have to put in a sim to get it going
Can I connect on metro pcs?

So i can use the esim with, say, an american sim like verizon and then have a physical foreign sim when im abroad?
Is there a toggle key option to disable one of the Sims, when not needed, without physically extracting the physical SIM and/or deleting the esim info for the esim?
It looks like you can quickly turn off the eSIM and then it will set the defaults to the physical SIM. I was then able to easily turn it back on.
@@TechWithBrett thanks for the prompt reply but what about the opposite case of disabling the physical SIM and just keeping the esim? Can it be done by a switch without having to physically eject it?
Correct, I don't see any options to turn off the physical SIM.

Any way to get dual sim with Verizon and one of the Notes?
Would this method work for Boost Mobile ?

Yes I would. Pixel phones have been a very smooth experience. They are adding many features that have been missing on pure Android and really are great devices.

What phone is your main one?
Does the phone have two physical sim card slots also?
It does not, just the one.
How is your new pixel phone
Does rcs not work with this setup
This is the unlocked phone correct?
That is correct, sorry for not mentioning that.
I use cricket wireless, I think they use at&t services. So I can just pop my sim card into the 4a and it would work?
I'm pretty sure it will but I'm just nervous...
Yes it would, you can always call up Cricket and confirm that it will work.
Ma carte sim n'affiche pas comment faire ?
How many eSIM can I setup?
Can you add multiple carriers to the Pixel 4a eSIM?
There is only one eSIM in the device.
You can have eSIM from one carrier and the other SIM from a different carrier.
@@TechWithBrett Thanks for your reply

How much is it
Price is around $349. You can see the latest price in the description.
Hi
E sim is confusing as hell. My opinion is that it's a waste of time and money
If you need dual sim don't bother with e sim. Get 2 sim card. A dual sim card phone is best. You have more control
I am getting rid od my dual sim e sim card phone I hate it.
can I use Google voice with the esim and another sim?
So two Google Voice numbers? You should be able to.
.
First
I like how americans are like wow dual sim on phone but asian variants of flagships have that since like, forever

do you know what an E-Sim is? A single tray is enough 😊 no need to put 2 simcards ( in Europe and north America )
Omg I'm first
