It's crazy how the Century has a lot of the same body lines as my old 69' Corona had.
The Century is one of the coolest cars ever. I see them all the time parked outside of Tokyo Station and driving around Nihonbashi here in Tokyo. The new wheels really upgraded the appearance. Yeah, thought about becoming a limo driver in Tokyo just so I could drive one around Tokyo, the new models are just beautiful. Domo.
The greatest part is the journey with your friends and the memories you will have. Awesome car and trip.
As cool as the Toyota Century is, I'm much happier seeing the wild aircooled content you've been doing lately. Lots of car channels out there, but only 1 with high quality aircooled stuff and that's what really makes you stand out.
Oh dude, mega car, a Century has always been on my wishlist, but a limousine is just so incredibly cool, looking forward to seeing your next videos with it, Rj in Oz
Really cool to see the transformation of the Century and the trip was neat too. That trip reminded me of when my grand parents drove from Kingsport TN (up on I81just before you get to the Virginia state line/Bristol) to Seattle WA back in the early sixties. Way before the interstate system was complete or even existed for the most part for that matter. My grandfather said when they pulled into their driveway from the trip that the steering shaft snapped and he pulled it out of the colum. It was rusted into with the exception of just about a quarter of an inch of fresh material. This was in a 1959 Plymouth Belvedere. Needless to say, I know my grandmother was praying the whole time they were on the road.🙏 They definitely had an angel watching over them.😇
I saw a Century In Bellevue, WA, just a few miles from Seattle, back in 2019. I thought it was your car, but it wasn't the stretched version. So apparently there is another one here in the Seattle area. I just stumbled on your channel today, and LOVE the European and Japanese cars from 1990 and before. I'm super excited to check out your videos. And yes, you definitely should have stopped in Coeur d'Alene, ID. LOL Cheers!

I daily a 91 Cadillac Brougham 6 door limo. Definitely can't just mind your own business and drive it anywhere without people filming it or talking to you.

Fun fact about the Century is that you have to work at Toyota for a LONG time before you're allowed to paint one.
The tools to assemble them are custom made to fit the assemblers hands too.
As someone who only found you a couple years ago this was really fun to watch. I've seen this car before but had no idea about the story. Good watch!
The Century was an awesome project and with the new edit def refreshing to watch it again. Really looking forward to hearing more about your experiences on the Overcrest Rally as well. It's been on my list of things to do, hopefully next year. Sorry to hear you won't be attending Helen this year but sounds like a jammed packed couple of months!

I love road trip videos like this and I've always wanted an extended wheelbase vehicle that was comfortable for people in the back seat. I'm still eyeing the LS 460 L if I can find one I like (don't need All Wheel Drive or Air Suspension) and will gladly pick up a Toyota Century when I can. Great, fun video.

What a fun video! New subscriber here as the result of stumbling across your video. Upon seeing the Century, some must have thought that you were visiting Japanese dignitaries. The Century is an impressive vehicle.
In New Zealand we got most of our cars as second hand jdm so theres a few centuries here but never seen a limo , they are a long production run though. We have a 1973 nissan president H150 and a 1986 toyota cresta both are amazing. The president was apparently the Japanese embassy car and been here since new.
I remember seeing pictures of this car on IG. The universe has aligned now that i can enjoy the story on YT.

never bought a toyota and regretted it... This one is a gem... I'd keep it as original as possible but I would try to switch out the tvset and cassette deck for something more usefull... and I would prolly slam that thing and throw some big rims and low profile tires on it!
-But I would make sure to save everything and make all changes reversible.

This Toyota Century is the first generation the second generation had the V12 and this is the stretched Century and there is actually Toyota on it the later two generations do not have Toyota on them just Century and the best feature has to be the electric quarter windows (vents) a real touch of class bur a very nice car probably the best car ever made

Keep that car original. It is much more valuable than a rolls royce. In Japan they will pay top dollar for the car. Please respect the craftmanship that went into that particular car.
