I always come back to this version of this track. There's just something that works so well having the band really urge the track on in the bridge that gives the lyrics a bit more weight. Absolutely gorgeous stuff.
Shiva Ganesha wow I can't believe you wrote this. I just sent this video to a friend of mine who loves music and I described her as a female Lou Reed. Her singing style absolutely reminds me of Lou, just discovered her this morning, the radio station I listen to played Dead Fox.She's fantastic.
bogeyfree Like all good folk music, Courtney's music is filled with humanity. Her turn of a mundane phrase can evoke a Zen like understanding of the ongoing existential crisis that defines our race. Dylan was a master at this. His life's work, taken out of the context of its musical framework, could be looked upon as a collection of rather simple minded poetry. Delivered as music, his poetry changed the world. It remains to be seen if Courtney is possessed with the power of Dylan or Lou Reed. Looking back, it is clear that the likes of Pete Seeger and Bob Dylan helped to save us from McCarthyism and the Vietnam insanity. Let us hope that Courtney will develop into the kind of persona that can save us from the Tea Party and Islam.
Amazing song, it makes me feel nostalgic, sad, and good at the same time. This performance is outstanding. Courtney has so much talent, I'd love to shake her hand.
Can’t get enough of her, very charismatic, poetic genius, and the way the picks and plays that Telecaster, left-handed, there is something about left-handed talent…xoxo
This track is great I first heard this Rockwiz version and it is still my favourite. That Tele sounds great too, not as easy to play as she makes it look either. What a great artist.
This is the best song I've heard about the Preston real estate market.
This really describes about 5 years of my life. Not a good five years, to be honest. but I did make it out alive.......just....

me, too. Just came back to hear it again. I love the drive of this version.
Lou Reed without the heroin or the neurosis. She pulls me in with power of her humanity. The charisma of the mundane? Anyway, I love this stuff

Lived in Kendall St Preston for 15 years & cycled lots around the area; this song is spot on.
