i heard an interview where john said he'd love to write a biography but only when he can find a way to put into words the experiences he had and what happened inside himself and not just outside him
John once said, " it's not about what you can do with a piece of wood with strings on it, you've always got to remember it's still about the music you create" My favorite quote of his...
I've always thought that since i heard that song. My dad is a rabid Cat Stevens fan so I grew up listening to him. He also looks alot like Cat Stevens in the "The Past Recedes" video.
i cant agree more with you...it has the same effect on me,i read it more then ten times and i always had the wish to get high...im glad you drop these thoughts for me...this book is defenitely magic!
yea that is such a great album!!...i downloaded the discography....shoosh lol....shadows collide, and from the sounds inside and the will to death are my faves...
i am literally STUNNED right now by his list of people ... those are LITERALLY my list of people tooo .... AND NICO ... i didn't know about that one .... i played the marble index over the midnight hour of birthday a week ago .... all of them are such inspirations to me x))
This sounds like I'm making up... but around 8:30 John said he had this realisation about music being the sound you produce when listening to Television's Marquee Moon album.... I did the same thing!!! :D
It's funny that John mentions Cat Stevens as an influence because his singing in songs like The Past Recedes always reminds me of Cat Stevens
Exactly what I thought....

I'd reccomend Shadows Collide With People if you're looking to get into his solo work. It's a great place to start.
7:50.....that is the truest thing ever said.
that would make sense if this was around 2004, because he said he was really into cat stevens, and you can hear alot of that on 'Curtains'
I'm falling in love with this man!

Like them all but 'Smiles i can just sit there with the whole album on repeat. Not many albums out there where every song has its place
A B-sides collectors album would kick ass.
John and i have gone the same route for learning guitar :D
John was still putting his brain back together.
John thinks a lot
wow, yes exactly how i feel as well!

Know what you mean.. He doesn't like stuff being a product so I wouldn't believe he'd want to sell off a book. :/
This is a bit late, but there was a film that Omar did, with Jeremy as the lead role. It's not been released yet.
