This is a very creative cinematography! It makes learning and listening to what the rabbi says feel fun and entertaining. I really enjoy watching the videos. I think even most non-Jewish people interested in knowing more about Judaism would enjoy watching this style of video.
When the Bible refers to ghost my understanding is that because Jewish people believed in demons. They believed Jesus was a ghost because of the rumor of the demon of the sea
Very interesting. Averagely. Also, you mention true life happens at birth and that is contrary to what I always thought. I’d like to hear more about that topic. When does life begin and is there a difference between “true life” and “life”?
I would like to know what the name of these "ghost" beings and if there is a title for the state of separation before Gehinnom. Also is this a temporal existence or is it possible that this is everlasting or even beyond time?
There is no official name for them, but if they attach to a living being (as referenced in the video), they are called a 'dibuk' which literally means "attached". The name for this state is 'kaf hakelah' and it is temporal. However their experience of time is different than ours. Thanks for the helpful comment!
As a Muslim, I came here to gain knowledge that is the only Islam that believes in Jin (Ghosts). I guess All Abrahamic religions believe in holy spirits etc
And much more than Abrahamic religions, of course. It used to be common knowledge for all people, but the age of intellectualism has reduced our awareness to the superficial.
Great question! Animals do have a nefesh - it is their animating life-force as well. A neshama is unique to human beings, however, and one of the functions of the ruach is to connect the nefesh and the neshama. We can speak privately for more details.
I can't speak for all of us but i do & have since i was kid & learned of the darker side of our mythology. Say what you will but these things should not be trifled with as in all mythologies of all religions there is a reason for them & what they can do . Thankfully i have never been confronted by anything but there are ghosts i would dearly love to have visit me.
Nic names? lol. I don’t speak Yiddish. Hell I barely speak English sometimes. You seem a bit unusual for being Jewish. Little laid back and kinda new wave. Tell me something. If one sees something that he cannot explain with logic and common sense. Where does one go for answers to the thing he saw. ??
It depends what it is. You asked in a vague way, so I'll answer in kind. We can't always expect answers, recognizing that our perception and understanding of reality is limited. That's especially true if we are tempted to draw conclusions that contradict the basic principles of Jewish faith. Ultimately common sense should tell you that reason itself has not been defied, rather it was your comprehension that was defied.
@@TheAverageRabbi well. My perception watched this (thing ) at about the altitude of a spy plane traveling horizon to horizon. Stop instantly. Take off in a 90 angle. Zip back. Head off another direction at speeds so fast it was hard to follow sometimes. This is 1974. Maybe 72/73. There was 4 adults and 5 kids watching the darn thing. A week later. The man who lived there in the house we were visiting. Saw 7 horse shoe shaped objects going down the river just above the tree line. Both he and my dad served in the Air Force together. Billy was astounded. But my dad acted like it was no big deal. He was in the nuke program during his term. Worked on missiles was all he ever said about his enlistment duration. Laugh if you want. God knows I probably would if someone told me that. But hypothetically speaking. What does it say to you? I’m almost 60 now. It was during the train wreck in Roseville carrying munitions during the viet nam war. We we just outside of yuba city. I know Christian thought is fallen angels but I don’t think a spirit needs anything to get around in.

This calls for more study. Until then, averagely.
As one who generally resents that he even has a body, this is awesome
What a neshama comment
@@TheAverageRabbi unfortunately my education has gaps so I gotta look up what that means
a bit frightening, you know, i mean the good type. tell us of the wondrous Gan Eden and why we want to get there!

@@TheAverageRabbi Thank you so much!
@@TheAverageRabbi Are there spirits that are in Kaf Hakela permanently?
@@areafifty No, every soul ultimately achieves its rectification.

all religions have
I love this ^_^
It's ok to say you were scared. This is a safe space.
Some animals display emotions and higher level intelligence, do we consider them to have souls? If so, do they also have these levels?

I just watched the video at midnight. Luckily it turned out to be a lesson and not a scary ghost story.

Thank you for your viewership, UA-cam dude!
