Your reaction style is very entertaining. I agree that the witch jumping from the wardrobe was the scariest moment in the movie. As for your furry friend, for some reason, cats love containers or squares/rectangles. If u lay tape, like masking tape, down on your floor in the shape of a square or rectangle, your cat will lay in the shape. They’re funny that way.
Fun fact some people may not know: Joseph Bishara who plays Bathsheba, also is a composer and has done the music from everything to The Conjuring and Insidious, to Pretty Little Liars. On The Conjuring soundtrack, The song "In The Room Where You Sleep" written and performed by Dead Man’s Bones, is a band which features Ryan Gosling as the lead singer.
Patrick Wilson is a tremendous talent. Aside from his film work, he has performed on Broadway and has a fantastic singing voice (two Tony nominations).
My cat sleeps on important papers on my desk, and sharpens her claws on the sofa and front door, despite the presence of 'official' alternatives. Don't waste your money. 🙂 Thank you for another great reaction/review!
that witch on the wardrobe scene in theatres gave me one of the biggest, even to this date a serious jump scare reaction, i lost my shit LOL then annabelle creation a few years later got me again really bad... i actually had to go home and watch something light and funny to forget that films scary scenes
This seems like a mishmash of things from Poltergeist. By the way I had a VW bus exactly like the one in the movie, even the color. It remains my favorite car that I've ever had.
I dont usually get scared watching movies, but this, along with Sinister and The Autopsy of Jane Doe really creeped me out. Another great reaction by the way! 👍
@@steelbear2063 Because it's a brilliant film with tremendous actors in it, so you just stick to your video games and Japanese anime with your fellow ignorant geeks.
I'm so desensitized anymore that I feel I miss it on the fun of watching video movies, but getting to watch your reactions lets me experience them in a new way.
This is a great horror film! It’s very suspenseful and captures true terror. The acting is incredible, the story is creative, and it’s perfectly shot and edited. This is from the same guy responsible for Saw and Insidious. He really seems to know what he’s doing when it comes to horror films.
I am not a big fan of scary movies, but I am willing to suffer through it to see how you hold up Whimsory :) I also really enjoy your after-movie breakdown and conversation. You've had insights about movies I've seen a dozen times that never crossed my mind. Keep it up and keep that attitude:)
I finished the entire Conjuring series not too long ago. All the Conjurings, Nuns and Annabelles. I think I only enjoy maybe 2 or 3 of them tops, the rest were kind eh. I'll probably still watch the new ones coming out, tho. Just to get it over with! This is one of the ones I actually enjoyed!
Great Reaction and Outro as always Whimsory! I watched this movie in theaters at Fort Bennings, GA. An Army base. In the middle of the movie, I remember 3-4 Army Soldiers walk out of the movie and not return lol. This movie scared the crap out of me. I love to watch others reactions to it. Keep up the fantastic work of putting out quality content.
This rocked! Your reactions are really the best because of how much more research you do after 🎉 I appreciate knowing new things about movies! Lots of fun 🤘
That bus you speak of is a Volkswagen van (Bus) those things run for a very long time and go anywhere. Great vehicle to tour around from camp to camp. Also very expensive for an older vehicle. The one in the movie is probably a 1964 VW Van
Ok, I don’t often watch reaction videos. But I decided to check this out. The whole video was great. The outro. Sold me on subscribing 😂 Very funny. Keep it up!
Conjuring is pretty popular these creepy days 😁That bus you like is a Volkswagen T2 (transporter 2), the "hippie van". The T1 looks even better. Back in the 70s and 80s they were everywhere and you could buy em for a couple of bucks, now they're expensive classics (especially the T1's).
27:05 I happen to LOVE roller coasters. I also really do enjoy scary movies but not really for the adrenaline. Rather, I just love the myriad applications of terror and horror. They are fascinating.
I got to the part with the eyelids, and realised I've seen this movie, and on no fewer than two occasions, I got to the part with the eyelids before realising I've seen it. It's one of those movies II just keep forgetting exist. Like that one with the dead guy on a train, who has to find out who blew it up.
Hi Whimsory, I watched this for the first time alone in a several hundred year old farmhouse in the middle of the countryside! Even though it was during the day I had to take a couple of calm down breaks during the film. Great film and wonderful to watch it for the second time with you. I don't think I watched any of the other films in this series so I look forward to see what you watch next. Keep up the great work. Be safe.
38:50 that goes along with the "real story" part. They're just telling the story that Ed and Lorraine wish they could. It's why they made such a good choice; as long as it's "real" they're immune to copyright.
The house and family are real. The events that occured are seriously exaggerated but things did happen. Ed and Lorraine Warren were not a big part. The father actually punched Ed in the face at one point. They actually continued to live in the house for several years, so obviously it wasn't drastic. Paranormal teams continue to pay to investigate there and have gotten some interesting evidence.
Love your reaction, as usual 👍 You don't have to apologize for mixing up people, because I know people who have that as well. It's just a different way of processing :) So I was quite curious to see which scenes would "get" you and I was wrong with my predictions most of the time 😅 I didn't really consider this a very scary movie to be honest, but that may just be me. It was a pretty good movie though. I've watched so many scary movies that I might have become a bit desensitized. It could also be because I believe I've _lived_ in a haunted house. When you've experienced that, you don't really get scared as fast as others ;)
October is your fav month, it's mine also... I should subscribe then! Also nice reaction x) ps: Scary movies are great when you're alone, after watching it, you don't feel alone anymore
I just now realized the dad in this is the same actor from “Office Space”. Lol. Whimsory has the best movie reaction and breakdown videos. Her personality and charm go a long way towards an enjoyable presentation of all the effort she clearly puts into researching and creating these videos. The only times I don’t watch are when it’s a movie I’ve never seen. On a side note, as a musician and audiophile I’m super curious about the keyboard in the background. I find that many of the people who do reaction/breakdown videos of music, who are themselves musicians, use hand gestures that are as expressive as the faces they make. I could be overthinking it, but watching Whimsory speak about movies makes me think she actual does play. So does she? And if/so would she play for us?
Love horror, but the Conjuring universe doesn't do anything for me. Probably due to the over-reliance on irritatingly loud jumpscares. It's not as bad as some later entries, though. Still enjoyed your video - you made it innerestin'. Good fun for Halloween.
Another great reaction... Probably my favorite so far. 28:06 I find it funny that this was your 3rd scariest part of the movie cause I was actually waiting to see your reaction to this part and you were just like, "meh" on camera. 34:14 its crazy how long ago this movie was filmed cause that little girl just got married in September.
Horror movies relying on jumpscares is the equivalent of being tickled by a clown to make you laugh. It kinda works on the moment, until you realize how cheap, empty and unsatisfying that was in the end.
This is facts. SOME jump scares are totally warranted tho. Like the one in the Exorcist 3 with the giant scissors thing and do make the movie scarier. But mostly yeah, cheap tactic and usually fun
You can visit the real "Conjuring House", but I think you have to go through a whole thing to reserve with the current owners. Several paranormal/ghost hunter UA-camrs have done videos there. The events and the house are very different from the movie of course. Besides Ed and Lorraine's account, Andrea the oldest Perron daughter, wrote a book about it. Bathsheba Sherman did live there and apparently did claim to be related to Mary Eastey, though that's not confirmed. She was also suspected of killing a neighbor's child and her own, though that is also not confirmed. She also did not kill herself if her tombstone is accurate, she died in her 70's. It's been a while, but I think Andrea actually now thinks the entity that terrorized her family was the Sherman's neighbor, who did hang herself in the 1700's.
I'm pretty much in your court here. I don't find a lot that is relatable in the movie that was connected to the actual story(certainly not the doll), and I just think that there was a lot of reaching out for horror movie tropes that many were already familiar with. All in all, I found it as being "just another scary movie".
Theres a really good documentary about the making of this movie - a few of the actors experienced some disturbing things during and after filming. Fyi ghost adventures does an investigation of the actual conjuring house and yeah its still active. Its worth checking out 👻
On one hand I'm glad you're doing these, on the other, I hope you do some type of cardio because I don't want these to give you a heart attack 😅 I do like this movie, and it's scary for sure, but they rely a LOT on manufactured jumpscares, like the entity on the wardrobe and then jumping off, they have to give you an extreme camera zoom in with a loud noise playing, it would have been scary all on its own without doing that... also when it starts using a shotgun, it steps a tiny bit into campiness. But there is a lot that is great too :)
Cheers Whimsory! This movie is well executed but ultimately a movie we've seen many times before in different forms and guises. As always, appreciate your reaction and commentary.

I so enjoy how Whimsory does the homework and looks at a movie a few times then talks about her opinion. That most reaction video people never do.
"I looked deep into its soul . . . I don't think it had one." That's our Whimsory.

My introduction to him was in 2004’s Phantom of the Opera.
Delightful Whimsory reaction!
Cats like to sleep on and jump from atop wardrobes... Whimsory needs to get a wardrobe for her cat.
Oh yes a wardrobe with an optional demon atop thrown in the deal
I've just found your channel and I've already watched so many of your videos I just cant get enough of your cute intros lol
Watched this in theaters when it came out and the wardrobe scene with the witch sent absolute CHILLS through my body.
“Should’ve gotten little shack. Then this wouldn’t have happened.” Flawless victory!
The song at 14:28 is called "In The Room Where You Sleep," by the group Dead Man's Bones, which is fronted by Ryan Gosling (yes, THAT Ryan Gosling).

This film lifted so much from the Amityville Horror, which makes sense, since the Warrens helped invent that story too
The books written by Andrea Perron & interviews with the family seems very logical. It's nothing like the books.

Annabel is a must. It kinda gos along with this movie. And the remake of !Amityville Horror. With Ryan Reynolds
