That game was the only reason i paid for a nintendo online subcription. Nintendo HAD my money for it and if they kept it up then they would have continued to get my money. Really stupid business decision.

I am not kidding, if they simply boundled in some kind of offline-mode(Probably against CPU or local multiplayer), then I would have been entirely fine paying 5 bucks for it. The game is too good to be officially unavailable. Luckily the fans will always be there to keep videogame history alive, even if it ends up burning way too much time and money on their end.
I skipped SMB 35. Playing it competitively didn't sit well with me and I preferred to play cooperatively, so I'm glad that Super Mario 3D World has online cooperative play, with just the crown as a mild competitive element.

I would literally be handing ammunition to whatever legal people would be in charge of actually eliminating every single company that made things I grew up with from existence. Leaving only a publicly funded online archive for anyone to access the past for free if they wished to. Stop giving Nintendo money. There is nothing you or anyone stands to gain from doing so anymore and hasn’t been for many many years now. In fact, you are actively contributing harm to the entire industry by giving Nintendo any money whatsoever and they will happily turn around and spit in your face all because of one stupid legal scare before 99% of people reading this comment were even born.
