Faris i have my ucat tomorrow and this video massively helped me and encouraged me man, thanks a lot for the information and hope dental school is going great for you bro!
Hey Faris, just wanted to say your videos are a massive help. Quick question: I got ucat 2590 and band 2, which four unis would you recommend for 2024 entry? I'm a student from ireland and currently looking at cardiff, plymouth, liverpool and maybe newcastle. Would you agree? Thanks so much bro.
Hiya we have a detailed blog over on my site - here is the link (its free!) and we have ai interview admissions assistance: www.auralyze.ai/blog/post/navigating-dental-school-admissions-2024-a-strategic-insight-
Dw about your manual dexterity, you’ll develop that during the course. But some ways to improve man dex is to literally do anything that involves hand movement: art/ sowing/ baking even! But DONT stress it too much at all!
It is definitely not necessary but I do not think it is a waste of time either. Think of it of something that will ADD to your application but will not massively impact it (it is a good thing to have though as it can be a talking point in interviews).
Can you do dentistry with average intelligence if you're a very hard worker because apparently the content isn't that hard there is just an insane volume of content so being a hard worker is enough to cut it?
Not sure how you define 'average intelligence- but I will just say a dental degree isn't easy so you need to have high academic ability paired with hard work. Look at university requirements to gauge the academics you need. Hope that helps!
Most school aren’t bothered about SJT too much - just make sure Liverpool doesn’t rank SJT highly - I got band 3 and got all my offers (but idk about Liverpool)
I have no dental work experience how much is this going to set me back or am I in the same boat as most people (or am I stupid for leaving everything to the last minute 🙄)
Nope - it's a holistic approach they take into account a lot of different factors its not as simple as percentages of factor A and factor B. You need a strong application from your academics, personal statement, work experience, UCAT and more!
Faris Dent hey :) i applied to Bristol, Liverpool and Sheffield and my UCAT score was 570 average. do you reckon i have a chance? i got all 7s in GCSE except 2 8s and one 6, and my predicted grades are A*AA. my personal statement is great and i have work experience which yeah i lied about but that’s besides the point.... do u reckon i can get in or no? i’m also doing the BMAT for Leeds bc of my bad ucat score THANKSSS
@@Rachel_Tensions Tbh with a 570 score it may be a bit of a challenge to secure interviews however, there is always a chance. Also you should do the BMAT for sure - best of luck with that! If you have any more questions dm me on insta!
Faris Dent thanks :) im definitely gonna give the BMAT my best shot in hopes of Leeds. i’ll message you on instagram if i need help. really appreciate this :)

@@FarisDent Thank you very much!! I really appreciate the help 😊
Hi! I found your video super useful thank you so much :)
happy to help!
2580 B2, do you reckon that that I have a chance of getting an offer 😬
It will be a bit tough, but if you have a strong application and apply tactically you may have a good chance!
Hi, with regards Birmingham, I'm a little confused as I heard they may take into account the SJT band level at the interview stage.
I don't believe they do - however, to check you should have a look at their admissions page where they will state if they do/ do not look at it 😀
Can Manuel Dexterity be improved? How does one know that their manuel dexterity is good enough to pursue dentistry?
Dw about your manual dexterity, you’ll develop that during the course. But some ways to improve man dex is to literally do anything that involves hand movement: art/ sowing/ baking even! But DONT stress it too much at all!
@@FarisDent so if I have 3A I can still do the course?
@@gopalgeorge3632 Alongside all the other requirements and a successful interview then yes, most dental universities will consider you!
hiya do you think that writing an epq is a waste of time when trying to apply for dentistry, would you say it’s necessary ? many thanks!

hi, loved the video, just wanted to know what your predicted grades where for A levels.
A*A*A and A* EPQ (prediction ) and actual grades were the same

I got a high UCAT of 2850 but got band 3 does that mean I will still be looked at unfavourably by Liverpool.

What would you say for low academics like a few 8s and 6s and a high ucat
Wouldn’t call that ‘low’ academics , but there will be some stronger candidates in the process
@@FarisDent yeah but would a high ucat strengthen the application despite the low academics

percentage wise, what would you say it is for kings? e.g. 60% ucat 40% academics or something

Is the postgraduate acceptance for dentistry required ucat for applying?
I believe so - you may also have to take the GAMSAT depending on where you apply
Is this specifically for Dentistry or Medicine??
dentistry
Faris Dent .. There’s also the Uclan that offer dentistry but they don’t require UCAT or am I wrong?
@@aseelrajhi I believe that is graduate-entry only but correct me if I am wrong!

I got 2500 ucat is it still worth applying or to risky?
defo still worth it

Great uni!
how many years does it take to become a dental consultant? after graduating
This is quite varied based on profession/individual skill!
I keep getting distractedf rom the content by the handsome presenter. Can you guys replace the presenter with someone less dreamy? thnx
high
im so fucked
I’m sure you’ll be fine - make sure you read all uni requirements ... if you don’t meet them a gap year is a great experience.
