The drakenguard 1 ending is actually canon to nier automata. I can see why people say it is more like castlvania's legion though.

Its worth to point out "Torn from heavens" is used in Mt.Gulg for the first two bosses. Its like the only instance the music is played in Light Party dungeons

This raid was a real pleasure. I could see aspects of Yoko Taro everywhere in the dungeon design, especially in the traps. No one makes a better asshole trap like Yoko Taro can.

The mix between the nier and ff14 music is exemplary. Best MMO of all time.

If she is holding the sword to the side like she's going to cut in front of her, get out. It's a circular AoE centered on her.
If she is holding the sword above her head, get behind her, it's a cone AoE in front of her.
If she is holding the sword beside her in a pose, with it in the ground, get underneath her, it'll be a circular AoE but with her feet being a safe zone.
If circles show up on the ground, look for the blue flashing electricity moving to another circle, that's your indicator of where something is moving to. From there, watch which version of Prime Blade she's doing and react accordingly.

Yoko Taro has joked about doing exactly that, and even burning down the data centers. Apparently he once brought up actually deleting characters for real in a meeting for the collab, too.

You'd have to admit that it would be one hell of an ending to the game though. :D
Ultimate Ultima already did the deletion of our characters via failing to defeat it. so it's been done I guess.

I get what you mean. But some artists have a distinct theme to them. Example you can tell a character was made by Tetusya Nimura if they look edgy, wear black, have a shit ton of zippers or belts. Doesn’t mean that is exclusive to Nimura.

It fits in perfectly, too! In Replicant it was theme of the boss, that was made out of thousands of Shades, and here we have something opposite, but similar at the same time!

Most definitely. The way that torn from the heavens harmonically builds up to the epic segment of eery vocals that comprise the dark colossus, is beyond beautiful.
When 0:44 kicked in I knew this remix / medley was gonna be a banger. It's like one of the WoL/WoD's anthems, pure motivation.

@@EmperorZ19 the song is just The Dark Colossus Destroys All (OG Nier) mixed with Torn From The Heavens. As for the boss itself I don't really see much of a parallel to Drakengard in its design. I guess you could maybe say it kind of looks like the grotesqueries queen or something but I feel like that's kinda stretching.
They really had to go with Torn From the Heavens and completely wreck me, huh.

I got to the boss, and this started playing. I was like "ooooh a new ver this song"
then 1:20 hit and I lost my shit. As a big fan of FFXIV and an even bigger fan of NieR, I almost cried in the middle of the fight hearing it.
Can NOT wait for tier 3, I can't imagine what song they'll use to top this.

Oh boy, another Shadowbringers theme to listen to until I can't listen to it anymore. This songs great.
Say what you will about how good Weight of the World(Prelude) is, I think this one does way more to combine the music of FFXIV and NieR.
Also people hate Torn From the Heavens just because they can't disassociate it from ARR. It's one of the main themes of the game, of course they're gonna use it a lot. And the original Dark Colossus has very weird audio mixing with way too much reverb. This new arrangement brings an entirely new kind of energy to the song, especially with the drums(which in my opinion are way too loud in the original).
But that's just my spicy opinion, music is extremely subjective.
TBH I always liked Torn from the Heavens. I know that it's probably just annoying to hear so much of it, but it's a pretty good theme, especially since it has the Maker's Ruin leitmotif too.
People dislike Torn From the Heavens? Dude, whenever an album comes out, I always check for any rendition of that theme. Heavensward and From the Heavens are my favorites, but this... This just takes the cake. It’s so damn good.

This is one of the best OST's this game has thrown out yet, and the competition is STIFF
After playing a lot of this game I finally got on the nier raid and let me tell you, I wasn't expeting AT ALL "The Dark Colossus" theme to show up in that way, That was really fucking amazing, Also the mechanics made an MMO game legit feel like a bullet hell experience.
For that reason, FFXIV still stands as the best MMO and the only i'll be playing for awhile.

What is this? This thing... what can we do?
So the entire raid had me grinning from ear to ear and when we got to the 3rd boss and operator 210 I was at max level hype. Then the alien corridors were after that and I was jumping up and down for a Adam and Eve fight or something of the sort. What we got was a gross looking pokeball and a giant 2P made of Android bodies. Hype deflated a little until I heard the music, that’s what saved me lol. It’s a great fight, just not at all what I was expecting
Such a powerful theme made even awesome. Well done.

First time I saw it going full Castlevania Legion, I just thought one thing: THIS CANNOT CONTINUE!
You know. When I see this fight, I can't help but think back to the Drakengard 3 DLC with With's 2's bossfight. And feel kinda scared knowing that it's just about obscure enough for Yoko Taro to delve into.

I really enjoyed those 2 24 men raid, lots of goosebumps. Also pretty good ui and gameplay!

I've been horrified at this happening since they first announced the raids. We did get a quick sample of the rhythm notes during the first boss in Puppets Bunker though.

2:04 - 3:04 in-game perfectly lines up with the fourfold reproduce and everyone dying to it. It’s so epic
With all these badass soundtracks, I just wish they have a sound of the end rendition for the final raid.

Angelic/chaos language also in the song and in the raid fights. Angels come from the sky.
@@murakumo8194 Good question what alien spaceship is even doing there. Though it's a question what any of the Automata objects are doing there, but alien spaceship confused me the most. Factory can presumably be rebuilt (and it's _copied_ factory, so maybe that's exactly what happened), bunker... well bunker crashed from space? But alien spaceship was buried deep underground and aliens are long since dead...
@@HaibaneKuu I'm of a mind to believe it was a digital recreation. Hard to say without any context, but we know the pods are capable of doing that on a smaller scale, so who is to say that the bunker isn't able to project something similar?

lo-key surprised Yoko Taro didn't troll us with a ryhtmn game duty action, here's hoping the final raid tier indulges us in that regard.
I mean, I was totally weirded out by the White Chlorination Syndrome effect in Copied Factory. My wife and I instantly recognized it and were like: "Hold up, isn't Masao almost entirely removed from the NIER-verse? Wasn't that the whole point of Replicants and Androids existing in the first place?"
Not to mention if there's WCS then that means the "Gods" from Drakengard are present (yay...), but my question is WHO became the WCS, since its people who became salt - and there's a ton of it in the final are of Copied Factory.
Upload the other ones as well, this raid is so good.
The other tracks in the raid are just tracks from NieR:Automata. Fortress of Lies, Grandma - Destruction, Bipolar Nightmare, and End to the Unknown

Hearing incorporation of the backing track, beat and harmonisation of Torn from the Heavens especially the violins into the original Dark Colossus
I do love the repeated chained broken chords, it makes the Dark Colossus more progressive and intense
On a Drakengard note, they should make it such like DG3, we have an ATM mechanic where we have to press the correct buttons with timings of the BGM with only subtle visual cues :D and failure means restart

This might be contrary to popular belief, but I think the Dark Colossus part is what holds this theme back. Though I absolutely love the rendition of Torn from the Heavens, especially at 0:45

Do you have a version of the 905P Boss fight music on your channel? As that music is brilliant. Also even though this music is brilliant the actual boss is quite frankly nightmare fuel.
The music played during the 905P fight is End of the Unknown from the NieR:Automata soundtrack ^^
Lot of people here are (rightly!) referencing Legion from Castlevania, but I think it's a different legion we should be looking at. In original Nier, there was a group of white-bodied monsters called Legion, and their leader was Red Eyes (because he has, wait for it, red eys!). It's all backstory stuff for the original Nier, but basically it's what happens when a human is overtaken by the White Chlorination.. .syndrome? I think it's called? I'm a bit fuzzy on exact names. When the dragon from the end of Drakengard 1 fell and formed the Nier timeline, this was the result of coming into contact with its pieces. This was what the entire Gestalt project was built to get around. Between this and the Drakengard final boss's DNA chain angelic circle... we seem to be running all the way back to the beginning. I'm here for it.

I think why theres mixed emotions about this track is cuz how the mash ups from the The Copied Factory blew our minds, so our expectations were high yes. Imo, i think the track is good enough despite the pandemic effect it had on the devs
