The Scythe series is incredible. It's not my usual genre, but now Neil Schusterman is one of my favorite authors.

I listened to Spare in 2023 and it was really eye opening and how the media portrayed him especially during his “party” stage which wasn’t what the media was putting out there.

I LOVE SIX OF CROWS!!! Just be aware that you do have to read the Shadow and Bone trilogy first because the magic and world will make a lot more sense.
i personally read six of crows and crooked kingdom on their own without reading shadow and bone and i thought it worked just fine, but i still think it would be easier if i started off with the original series. it just depends on personal preference i think :)

I read six of crows first and didn’t really have any issues lol haven’t even read the shadow and bone yet and six of crows is still my favorite book

I finished one of us is next yesterday and SO GOOD. I am in love with the series so I've got one of us is back also on my list
"Before I Let Go" by Kennedy Ryan was my last read of 2023 (and my first read by this author) and girl, let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint. It *is* heavy, so I'm glad you're waiting until you feel ready to pick it up, but holy shit, that book is IMMACULATE and it turned her into an auto-buy author for me. She's releasing the second book in that series this year and I'm super excited for it.
(I'm still working my way through "Reckless" and have yet to pick up "Divine Rivals," but "Ruthless Vows" is also on my 2024 TBR just because I know in my bones I'm going to love Divine Rivals.)
You mentioned a few new releases that also caught my eye, but for ones you didn't mention that I think you might like based on previous reads:
Ashley Poston (The Seven Year Slip) is supposed to have a new book out this year called "A Novel Love Story."
Casey McQuiston (RWRB and One Last Stop) has a new book out this year called "The Pairing."
Outside of that, Sangu Mandanna of "The Very Irregular Society of Witches" fame has a new book out this year in that universe (I think?) called "A Witch's Guide to Magical Innkeeping" and I could not be more excited about it!
"Two is a Pattern" by Emily Waters also releases this month, a sapphic romantic suspense set in California in the 90s. Not sure how much that's your thing, but it's on my list!
The Soulmate Equation was SO GOOD!!! It was a 5 Star read for me, i was not expecting to love it so much!! I’m also planning on tackling Throne of Glass and Crescent City so I’m excited to watch your videos on them at the same time 🥰
I was so happy that you want to read Throne of Glass (which i am reading right now, i am at book 3) and then Six of Crows because is on my Tbr but when i saw Crescent city(House of Earth and Blood) i screamed. That is my favourite series with Fourth Wing! The ending of the second one is crazy,also is good that you want to read now because the next book comes #0th January!Love your videos!

Since you want to read more memoirs I highly suggest reading All The Colors Came Out by Kate Fagan! It really gets you thinking about life and family and what is important in the world. It’s been on my shelf since my husband read it and to apease him constantly asking me to read it I finished it as my first book of 2024 and I reread it to annotate the whole thing. It’s so good and thought provoking!

I just finished the Arc of the Scythe series yesterday and I really enjoyed it. It's super easy to read, highly recommend!
I love all these selections! There are some books I am aiming to read in 2024 as well! For the Dance of Thieves I recommend reading the Kiss of Deception series first! Apparently Dance of Thieves is the sequel series to Kiss of Deception. I had no idea when I first wanted to read this series and I am glad I stumbled upon it before I start to read them both (which I hope to do in 2024 as well) just wanted to mention it just in case you didn’t know! Can’t wait to see which ones you start in 2024! Throne of Glass is my favorite series so I hope you can get to that one!

There is a trilogy ‘The Remnant Chronicles’ that goes before the Dance of Thieves duology.
It’s in the same world and the characters in the trilogy get mentioned/make quick appearances in the duology.
It will help you understand the world better. If you want to read the trilogy you should do it prior reading the duology since it will spoil the ending.

Wild Is The Witch is my FAV Rachel Griffin book!!! There is such incredible anxiety rep, and it's such an intense, sweet story. One of my favorite books ever. I hope you enjoy it! Can also vouch for the Scythe series - for dystopia, it's right under The Hunger Games for me. So good!

Omg! Please read scythe. It almost got me back into reading, is written SO WELL. Like the way the author words everything is just seamless but so creative. We also read it at my high school, and even people who don’t read for fun enjoyed it. I need to read the second book, because the writing is just perfection. The use of details unmatched, has touches of romance, and THE PLOT TWISTS!
Oh, and I 100% agree with you on the twisted series; I did not love the first book, it was kinda giving fan fic vibes to say the least…anyways, twisted hate and lies are (in my opinion) the best two of the series. There is obviously a lot of unrealistic parts, but they’re so much better! enemies to lovers and slow burn is just mwah.

I read curse of the wolf king in 2023 and it’s such a cute book !!! It’s was a 3 star read for me . It felt long for no reason in some parts but other than that I recommend you give it a try !! 🖤🖤📚
I'm very exited to read Indigo Ridge that's on top of my list to start, I also want to start and finish the Throne of Glass series. I can't wait for Riley Sagers new release this year called Middle of the Night. I'm also going to start the Inheritance games series as well. So I'm really exited to hear she's continued the series!

I have one memoir on my TBR for 2024! I'm not a nonfiction reader at all but the second I saw Scattershot I had to read it! It's Bernie Taupins book, he wrote the lyrics as a duo with Elton John and everyone who knows me knows I love Elton and Bernie 😍

i know it came out in november of last year (2023) so it doesn´t really count as ¨new realese¨ but its new to me because the books are HUGE! I will eventually get the paperback to say i have them, because heś'my favorite author (maybe ever) and Im reading Ice Breaker right now, (i actually just started it today and omg im obsessed already and on the second chapter!) so those books will be on my list for sure. I wasn´t sure when i saw them for full price at a bookstore, but now i wish i got them, and I love how they do the chapters. Your not into hockey, so you wouldn´t get it, but it´s a hockey pun.
but yea i can´t wait, I love the female bff, and I hope she gets her own book (sounds like she will but no spoilers please, i want to be surprised)

i’m trying to not get my expectations too high but i think the paranormal ali hazelwood book is going to be AMAZING. her writing style and banter will be perfect for a paranormal setting and i think it’ll give 2000s paranormal/twilight vibes for sure hahaha
