I'm gonna be so real, you seemed so excited about the Stardust Thief! I think that even if you're a bit scared to jump into pure Fantasy, you should give it a shot with a book you already seem to be interested in.

Definitely unhaul A Winter in New York. The “conflict” annoyed me sooooo much and literally the main character was doing way too much for no reason. You’re not missing out on that, and also it’s not even really thaaaat Wintery.
What you have is TSUNDOKU. It's a Japanese word meaning to acquire books but letting them pile up in one's home without reading them, I also have Tsundoku. Right now 've ordered over 20 books but I have books here thatI haven't even read the first page. Other books I look at I and wonder why in the world did I buy it. Let's start a Tsundoku club! 😄
Highly recommend the mistborn series! It is a fantasy with a little romance and it is so good!!

I don’t trust rewievs becouse Love hypothesis or Cruel prince have high rating but I didn’t like them. And I read fourth wing and the story was interesting and good but I HATED the romance like why do they be always like “ oh I look at him, he’s sexy and hates me. I have to sleep with him” ugh like really it would’ve been 5⭐️ if it been just fantasy

Omg yes the cover is amazing even without the dust cover it's still good!
What the river knows is def a romantansy and I highly recommend especially if you liked divine rivals bc it gave me strong divine rivals vibes! The relationship between Whit and Inez is so good and the ending is a twisty cliffhanger!

I'm a newer follower, but I loved Stardust Thief!! Would recommend it. And I do think (I think I remember ) there are traces of romance as you get into it
Weyward is SO GOOD! I wouldn’t even classify it as a lit fic… and I don’t like lit fic either. It’s more of a historical magical realism mystery.
The stardust thief was so so good even without the romance.. I found it to have an entertaining storyline that kept me hooked till the end, but I’d wait to read it because you’ll definitely want the second book on hand.
I am so excited about wayward its currently in my backpack waiting for me to finish my current read

I don't normally like historical fiction I always DNF them but I recently read What the River Knows and I really enjoyed it so if you ever decide to pick it up again I think you'd like it.
Ana Maria and the Fox is so good! It has a lot of great Black and Latino culture and representation in it. It also has a cast of sisters who are all strong female characters. I cant wait to read the next book when it comes out.

I Have Some Questions For You was definitely closer to literary fiction than a thriller in my opinion, BUT it was so good and one of my favorite books of last year. I think being marketed as more of a thriller hurt it because a lot of readers had misplaced expectations (for instance, I don't actually think it was slow-paced for lit fic at all), but I would highly recommend it
After is toxic but honestly I ate it up multiple times 😭 the movies are *horrible* compared to the books.
Most of the important parts aren't even in the films

i am so with you on the historical fiction thing. one author i would highly recommend is ruta sepetys. the actual book by her that i would absolutely love you to try is salt to the sea. it's a WWII historical fiction with 4 perspectives but it's 4 different people from 4 different countries. there is a romance plot in it and the chapters are very short so it goes by really fast but it is a little dark at times as is to be expected in a war historical fiction. she is the only author who's historical fictions i read so i would love you to research it and give it a try! the countries are poland prussia germany and lithuania, so the perspective is really unique since these countries aren't really talked about in WWII books!!❤️❤️❤️

I would say that Stardust Thief teases the possibility of the beginning of a romance that may be developed in later books if that helps.
Love the unhaul vids! Also YES as someome who read Planes Trains and All the Feels it was an ok book but not a love for me, seemed too similar to other books I read and was long for my taste. It just wasn't memorable for me and when I finished it I feel like I wasted my time.
I've been trying to get through A Winter in New York since Christmas. I just need to put it down lol

I personally enjoyed The Stardust Thief and am looking forward to the sequel. It wasn’t fantastic but it was enjoyable, that being said, you did say that you needed to read a book to find out if it’s for you. I can’t say whether you’d like it or not but there’s no harm in trying it as you already own a copy 😊
I really enjoyed The Stardust Thief when I read it. I’d never read about djinn before. I remember the ending being like 😮. I have not enjoyed waiting so long for the next book.

Yes some of Ali's reasons seemed petty - like the cover was old looking or the rom com was written in the 2010's - not contemporary enough..? Although i do get that sometimes a book sits on your shelf for too long so you lose interest.. but i'd have to read a few chapters to see if i wanted to get rid of it...
I just unhauled a few thrillers... i have been staring at them for a couple years. Lol..
The After series is what got me into spicy romance. 😂 I loved the whole series, but I also read them in high school.
Maybe for those books you debated unhauling or not, you could read the first chapter and choose from that? It could also possibly be a video

I LOVED the After series when i read them all in 2019 but i reread After late last year because i had been reading more than ever and was curious if my reading taste had changed and omg i HATED it the second time i gave it 1 stars. The series still holds a special place in my heart though ❤ but good decision unhauling (and also the burning cause that series was sooo boring)

The concept of What the River Knows is right up my alley and I was suuuppperrr excited to read it and… I was very disappointed. It was so boring. The romance and the characters were really good but it was so hard for me to get through
i will give trigger warnings on my reviews if i find a book triggering (To me) because what i find triggering i wont pick it up for a few days unless i need to finish it to give it up, like i have less then 4 hrs left and the main character´s past is SO TRIGGERING TO ME.

I was so disappointed by the Loveboat Taipei movie, they changed some big things from the book (like who she ends up with). The book was way better
I so dislike Historical fiction and Fantasy books. My son and husband love both.
Anyway... i am new to Romance (i have always read thrillers and true crime non fiction). And i have never read Rom Com . But suddenly a few months ago i became interested in Romance (Rom Coms only). I have read 2 so far and really enjoyed them..
Hmm.. unhauling books is tough.. it can be hard to choose which to keep and what to let go..especially when you dont have the space to keep them all. I am sure our individual likes will mean we all have different opinions of the same book.
But i have never heard of unhauling books because you dont like the covers??? What? Especially the last book being written a couple years too long ago? Have you actualky read that many romance books that you can tell the difference between books written in 2010 or 2020? (Without reading the date)? I cant imagine the date written having much to do with how much you will enjoy the book?
Maybe if you are talking about rom com books from the 1980's or earlier because there were not cell phones so no texting or calling any time or place..

When you’re a reader, you don’t read books cause it’s on trend, example everyone now is reading throne of glass series and then you also need to read it. It’s not that, you should read on your own pace. Also why unhaul? Because it’s not on trend anymore? It’s not of the size that fits your taste? Is that a reader? Or it’s just your your job? A true reader reads everything no matter the sizes even on newspapers and magazines.
