The title made it seem like the couple was overreacting, but they're totally in the right. If the boyfriend had kicked the employee's ass afterwards I'd totally understand. Wouldn't surprise me if they got sued.
It's also more fucked up because they didn't sign waivers, imagine if a rape victim walked into the haunted house, not even expecting to be touched (because USUALLY no wavier = no touching), and they get mocked raped. That's beyond fucked up.
I work at a haunted house and we require people to sign waivers and we don’t even go that far... fake rape is not appropriate at a haunted house. As actors it’s a privilege to be able to touch our guest in appropriate ways to get them extra scared. Then again my haunted house is more professional and not like those low budget ones everyone loves so whatevs
The waiver doesn’t matter, you can’t have a waiver that discriminates against your human rights. You can’t make a contract that breaks a law...sign this waiver saying it’s okay for us to starve you won’t hold up..
bangmeister2012 rape is different from a clown chasing you and mock attacking you. Very very very different. It depends on the persons trauma. They weren’t even expecting to be touched anyway. It’s not ok.
bangmeister2012 there's a huge difference between someone scaring you and someone grabbing you and forcing you to do something like that, even if it's "pretend". Especially if they'd been through a real rape in their past. Kind of reliving that shit would be so fucked up
What do you mean making a big deal about it Jess?! If anything like this is to happen, they have to give you a waiver to sign and if you don’t sign you can’t walk through it! Plus we don’t know if this guy has a history with rape or sexual assault. I don’t wanna be a sjw but I think you saying it’s no big deal is wrong. They’re not allowed to touch you let alone simulate rape on you. With themselves yea probably but not with the people walking through, unless they sign a waiver.
dave. Yea but you know how whenever someone try’s to speak their opinion on an issue, edgy or not, people like to jump in and call them a sjw just to be an asshole
IGHT having worked in haunted houses and Halloween attractions before, Jess you're completely wrong. The couple is TOTALLY IN THE RIGHT. Unless there is a wavier signed before going in, YOU CANNOT TOUCH THE PARTICIPANTS. You are not only touching unwilling people you are putting yourself in danger. That's rule number 1 when working in a haunted house. If you touch someone without their consent or knowledge they can hit you back and since no wavier was signed there wouldn't be any repercussions and the actor is stuck with a broken nose. If you have ever worked at any spooky attraction before you would take that rule seriously. The actor is completely in the wrong.
I don’t think people understand how traumatic rape is. I think it’s underestimated. Rape is traumatic. If there was someone in that line with them or the person themselves was a victim to rape, this situation gets way more serious. Rape is serious, please try to understand why these people are upset. Try to put yourself in their place.
I mean if you read the waiver and signed it. Its on you. You willingly went in.. In this situation its not ok there was no waiver. They had no idea of knowing
In most of these extreme haunted house cases there are actual waivers and warnings beforehand and with some they even agree on a safe word and/or go as far as hire medical professionals to keep a close watch on the guests to make sure that nothing goes wrong and that the simulation can be stopped at any time if they notice someone is genuinely in distress, whether mentally or physically, and help them calm down. It's obvious that with the haunted house in this video they really fucked up.
Albino Deer imagine if you had survived a sexual assault and then had to relive it when you’re trying to have fun in a haunted house. I can’t imagine😬scary and traumatizing are different
Sorry Jess, sure it's a haunted house but it's hardly 'not a big deal'. If the actor(s) is doing something unsolicited, that's a big deal. Because inside a haunted house, you are in a completely vulnerable state at the hands of the actors, and you're asked to put full trust that they will not actually harm you. If they deviate, then you're left in the dark as to whether what's happening is real or not, and that can have bad consequences on both sides. Given the fact that dangerous crimes have taken place inside haunted houses before, this isn't to be taken lightly. Anything sexual is highly intrusive, and needs to be spelled out in a big bold disclaimer. In this case legal action is perfectly reasonable since it wasn't solicited with a waiver.
THATS just rapists getting it off in a haunted house. That’s not ok. Rape is way more real than a clown coming at you with a chainsaw. One is traumatizing especially to a woman who has been raped or has been abused that could cause flashbacks and trigger ptsd or cause a panic attack. It’s not ok.
bangmeister2012 they shouldn’t have to worry about mock rape! My friend was raped then we went to netherworld haunted house and had a scary ass fun time and went home. Believe it or not 😂
So what rape victims should now be wary of doing something fun for Halloween? That's not cool at all. It's bad enough with seeing some of that shit in movies and not being able to enjoy a movie without being like fuck not again and I was just enjoying the movie too. I have been raped before. I can joke about it to a certain degree but not relive it that's not cool. So what then? Are some people going to be ok with haunted houses doing beheadings that will be perfectly legal as long as someone signs a waiver? I am glad that a lot of people are not cool with the rape thing in haunted houses. I am glad that some people have a conscious. Maybe the JK crew can say it's ok because they haven't gone through something like that. I have been through that a few times and I am not ok with it.
Many arguments have a gray area. This 1 obviously doesn't. No waiver, and physical touch to that extreme? The couple is completely in the right. How can you do something like that without giving prior knowledge of physical touch, to that extreme? Jess, you may think it's no big deal, but rape can ruin someone's life. (And false rape accusations have ruined people, and these were false allegations). Now imagine the victim was raped in the past... And you're still gonna say it's no big deal? The victim could just break down right there. Rape is traumatizing, regardless of the who the victim is (male, female, and because it's 2018, all other identifications).
Paul Issa Both are bad. Idk why Jess was saying it's okay, when if you're suddenly pinned down in an already supposed to be scary environment, and literally thrushes into its pretty weird and scary, humiliating even.
I wuldnt even care if it was an act as part of an haunted house, unless I knew about it before hand and agreed on it I wuld treat that as a real rape attempt and call the police. I'm dead serious. I wuld never set foot in a haunted house like that if I knew they do fucked up shit like that, it's not even remotely funny. And yeah I think it's kinda stupid that it's more okay cuz it was a guy. Like what?? People have such scewed logic and moral compass I feel like...
Paul Issa because women are seen as weak victims that need to be protected and men aren’t supposed to have emotions and could neeevverrr be a victim. It’s sexism. As someone who was a victim of sexual abuse I would NOT be okay with this. This is beyond not okay! This goes far beyond scaring someone this is trying to traumatize someone. If it happened to me I would need to redo years worth of therapy to be okay again.
A lot of these new extreme haunted houses have added rape or sexual elements, its weird but as long as they tell the people before hand. Also Jess is 100% right about horror movies having rape and sexual assault in them, its something they know bothers people so its an easy way to make the viewers uncomfortable.
That's what im thinking there are plenty of horror movies with rape they should watch I spit on your grave or last house on the left crazy scenes in those and those movies are old
I’m genuinely frustrated and disgusted by Jess in this episode. Sometimes the lack of common sense on why something is inappropriate is messed up. No, this isn’t being blown out of proportion, these people didnt sign a waiver and was not given a heads up. You go to a haunted house typically for ghosts and monsters, not to have someone pretend to rape you. If this happened to Jess I’m sure she would realize how fucked up it is, but I hope she never has to experience anything even close to this. As a last note, another reason that this mock rape isnt alright is because they dont know who is a rape victim especially since they dont get consent from the guests, and yes, legally to touch people in a haunted house you need their written signed consent.
I was doing cold reading for this actor-wannabe auditioning at the production house I worked at, and he ended up getting too much into character and used his hand as gun and stuck his second finger into my ears. I was not happy and almost sued him. You cannot touch anyone intentionally without consent.
I volunteer at a haunted house all throughout October, Joe is the best kind of customer you can get. The truth is everyone knows its all fake and its so easy to go through and be unaffected, but the people who allow themselves to just have a great time make it better for themselves and the actors.
I went to knotts scary farm on a Saturday so it was really but really crowded. Each maze and ride would usually have a 2 hour wait time. So my friends and I bought fast passes and it was really worth it. Instead of waiting 2 hours, we would wait like 20-30 minutes. I got to go on all the rides and mazes I wanted. I really recommend the fast passes. I felt the power of the fast pass and it felt amazing.
ana karen I work there and finally got a chance to enjoy Haunt this year. The mazes were really great. I like that they get in your face but they don't touch you. I forgot what maze it was but there was a guy in a wheelchair and he made a joke about me being thick and touching my thighs/ass but he never actually touched me. Damn I gotta remember what maze that was lol
My all time favorite maze was called “The Depth”. It wasn’t scary it was just sooo cool looking. I wanted to walk real slowly just look at every single thing in the maze. BTW the dumbest maze in my opinion was called “pumpkin eater” don’t recommend
ana karen the sad thing about haunt is that they put so much detail into the mazes but it’s so dark and you’re walking through so fast that you don’t get to really see all the great detail. Eh pumpkin eater was ok, I like that it smelled liked a freshly cut open pumpkin inside. I don’t think I have a favorite maze but the new one The Depth was pretty great
I’ve basically watched almost a years worth of this shit. You guys crack me up and are the realest on UA-cam and I am soooooo happy I got a fellow Filipina who is hella legit. How did I never see this channel before a few days ago?! I’m a piece of shit lol 😂
David was talking about that TV show American Gods, when the goddess Bilquis consumes the guy with her vagina...I read the book and was still surprised to see it on screen
Yeah if it were the woman, there would be no debate. Kinda double standards. Actually its kinda worse that they think its okay that "mock rape" is okay just because its on guy.
I went to our local haunted corn maze about 15 years ago. I was kicked out for life. I don't even remember his costume, he came at me with a running chainsaw. As in the chain was moving on the bar. Not SAFE. I punched him in the face. I just reacted. I tried to plead my case about the moving chain. You can run and rev a chainsaw w the bar locked. I haven't tried to go back because I'll probably hit or kick someone as reflex.
2:21 "That sounds like a comedy sketch". Joe, just because a rape victim is male, doesn't make it funny. Infact it's worse when people like you treat it like a joke. If you were a victim of rape, you wouldn't be laughing. Rape is not comedic, regardless of gender.
honestly being both a participant and volunteering in a haunted house the only funniest thing that comes to mind was when i went to the great america haunts and this one person was dressed as a shark and had an AX and i busted laughing cause it was like this cute af shark but the threatning thing was the ax? when sharks have their teeth?? that threw me hella off
I went to the Universal Studios haunted house and they didn't stagger the groups well enough, so I expected the scares since I heard the previous groups screaming. I didn't really get scared through the whole thing, but I felt very uncomfortable when one of the people tried to get closer to me and touch me, even though I knew they weren't supposed to touch us.
Are those zombie paintball walks and haunted hayrides popular throughout the states? Theres one an hour north of Nashville that I went to out in the middle of nowhere where theres rows of paintball guns mounted to the sides of the hayride so you can shoot any zombies that walk up and theres a 1/2 mile trail in the woods that you're supposed to clear of zombies with airsoft guns.
Not to ignore the story or anything but I actually thought this was the episode where the editor only left in them talking about anything else but the story. Also lMAO JOE WHAT A MOOD I DID SOMETHING SIMILAR SEVEN YEARS AGO, TO THIS DAY THAT NIALL PHOTO IS STILL UP IN ITS TEMPORARY SPOT LMAO
We have a haunted house at Stockholms amusement park and the ghosts used to get beat up by people (especially moms) so they have the renovate it and put all the ghosts behind bars
That was sexual harassment, not rape. There is a difference because rape is when sex happens without consent. There was no sex happening in that haunted house as far as I know.
I worked as a "Monster" for an amusement parks Halloween thing and I got punched in the boobs, hit on the arms like... you know you're here to get scared, why in the motherflipping hell are you trying to hit me??????
literally two days ago, I was volunteering at a haunted house, I was placed in a room that was a cannibal but a butcher shop and I was up in this like 9 year old girls face and she SPITTED ON ME THAT SHIT PISSED ME TF OFF I LUCKLY HAD THE RIGHT TO ESCORT THIS GIRL AND HER DAD OUT AND RIGHT AFTER THAT I SCARED THIS LADY AND SHE KICKED ME IN MY SHIN, anyway if you read this thx, some people don’t understand how fucked up it is sometimes to be a part of a haunted house,
If someone were a rape victim, going through that haunted house you're not expecting a fake rape scene to go down. That could be traumatizing all over again. I don't understand why rape would be thrown into a haunted house. It doesn't belong there.

I watch the whole ad just for you baebees
David was talking about that TV show American Gods, when the goddess Bilquis consumes the guy with her vagina...I read the book and was still surprised to see it on screen
Yeah if it were the woman, there would be no debate. Kinda double standards. Actually its kinda worse that they think its okay that "mock rape" is okay just because its on guy.
Schwoopity woop. Imma snoop.
That FX show y’all are talking about is American Horror Story. Season one and season five(hotel).
I love you guys keep it up u make me laugh everyday
I zoned out in the video & then Nikki said The Seven Deadly Sins & I got excited cus I thought she was talking about the anime lmao
Y’all gotta get supereeego on here lol
I went to our local haunted corn maze about 15 years ago. I was kicked out for life. I don't even remember his costume, he came at me with a running chainsaw. As in the chain was moving on the bar. Not SAFE. I punched him in the face. I just reacted. I tried to plead my case about the moving chain. You can run and rev a chainsaw w the bar locked. I haven't tried to go back because I'll probably hit or kick someone as reflex.
11:17 my favorite part of the video
2:21 "That sounds like a comedy sketch". Joe, just because a rape victim is male, doesn't make it funny. Infact it's worse when people like you treat it like a joke. If you were a victim of rape, you wouldn't be laughing. Rape is not comedic, regardless of gender.
Happy Early Halloween 🎃
I can tell haven't seen many foreign horror movies 😂😂😂
honestly being both a participant and volunteering in a haunted house the only funniest thing that comes to mind was when i went to the great america haunts and this one person was dressed as a shark and had an AX and i busted laughing cause it was like this cute af shark but the threatning thing was the ax? when sharks have their teeth?? that threw me hella off
Nice sweatshirt Steve! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Woo woo cant help but feel like this is a shout out to Bellflower!!! And the place is called Hollywood Sports!! 😀
In Missouri the Haunted House Staff CAN touch you, but the patron CANNOT touch the staff. If a patron touches a staff they can be prosecuted.
I like going to fright fest every year at Six Flags. I'm actually going tomorrow with a friend.
I hope to go to the Universal studios one some day.
10:56 “I wonder how many of those guys get punched a year?” I do too Joe I do too.
@10:38 Its Hollywood Sports in Bellflower. My mom lives in Bellflower
“-so I roll a paper towel..” okay
lol I love it when Jess is there
is this the first video where David did not talk as much
"ok so check this out right?"
That's messed up.
oooh i see those snacks behind steve and nikki
Joe is so funny 💁🏽🤣🤣🤪
In nz we have out summer holidays around Halloween
LOL I think David's talking about American Gods season 1
Are those zombie paintball walks and haunted hayrides popular throughout the states? Theres one an hour north of Nashville that I went to out in the middle of nowhere where theres rows of paintball guns mounted to the sides of the hayride so you can shoot any zombies that walk up and theres a 1/2 mile trail in the woods that you're supposed to clear of zombies with airsoft guns.
I don't miss the Beaws at all. This was hilarious.
Go nikki 💚
Not to ignore the story or anything but I actually thought this was the episode where the editor only left in them talking about anything else but the story. Also lMAO JOE WHAT A MOOD I DID SOMETHING SIMILAR SEVEN YEARS AGO, TO THIS DAY THAT NIALL PHOTO IS STILL UP IN ITS TEMPORARY SPOT LMAO
We have a haunted house at Stockholms amusement park and the ghosts used to get beat up by people (especially moms) so they have the renovate it and put all the ghosts behind bars
So we j gon ignore the rape scene in 13 reasons why😂. Lil bruh got violated with a broomstick😂😂
That was sexual harassment, not rape. There is a difference because rape is when sex happens without consent. There was no sex happening in that haunted house as far as I know.
Anything about rape shouldn’t be taken lightly. The fact that Jess was saying that people are just exaggerating this is so disappointing
can't blame Jess for being homophobic, she is from Texas.
Yeah, no... Haunted houses have to have waivers for any contact. Regardless of how wrong the scene is, it needs that waiver for the contact.
“That’s some pussyshit dude” yoo lmaoo
I worked as a "Monster" for an amusement parks Halloween thing and I got punched in the boobs, hit on the arms like... you know you're here to get scared, why in the motherflipping hell are you trying to hit me??????
Yo at 5:40 there is a orb on Steve, was i the only one that saw that?
literally two days ago, I was volunteering at a haunted house, I was placed in a room that was a cannibal but a butcher shop and I was up in this like 9 year old girls face and she SPITTED ON ME THAT SHIT PISSED ME TF OFF I LUCKLY HAD THE RIGHT TO ESCORT THIS GIRL AND HER DAD OUT AND RIGHT AFTER THAT I SCARED THIS LADY AND SHE KICKED ME IN MY SHIN, anyway if you read this thx, some people don’t understand how fucked up it is sometimes to be a part of a haunted house,
If someone were a rape victim, going through that haunted house you're not expecting a fake rape scene to go down. That could be traumatizing all over again. I don't understand why rape would be thrown into a haunted house. It doesn't belong there.
