It’s actually really smart to use the maple sugar bits for a couple reasons. Without the nuts a larger amount of logs will be sold. Most nut allergies are so severe that even if only one person in the household does eat nuts and has them around it could potentially trigger an allergic reaction. Makes a person more likely to buy one for a family gathering because they know it’s allergy safe.
@@TheRafark Allergies presenting high risk are common enough such that at many gatherings, including office parties, school events, and the like, administrators or planning teams will prohibit bringing products with allergens. I have worked at companies and schools where that was the case, and it is more common than you may think.
This was originally from an American show and this episode shot in French Quebec. It's very interesting how you dubbed it in English and actual French.
I literally gasped out loud when they said they THROW AWAY the unused ice cream, lol. I hate wasting any food at all. Ice cream is my vice, so throwing it away is sacrilege to me.
Alina H no, they mean liquid. Eggs arnt liquid until they are emulsified (which is a change that happens when two items are mixed together and turn into a new item).
I celebrate Yule w/ my pagan friend, I'm a Christian & I fail to see the point you're trying to make. Because I'm sure there's a point here somewhere. Just can't find it.
Where do I get one of these, they look better than anyone I have ever googled. Do I have to go to France!? Why can't they make them here!!! so many questions!!!!
As a lactose intolerant person… where is this factory? Are they hiring? Where do the ‘wasted bits of cake and ice cream’ go? You don’t have to be concerned about my allergies
They went bankrupt a bit ago, I looked up multiple newspapers and they said the same thing, company was around for 60 years, and now 60 employees are now out of a job. Apparently from some papers, they were $6 million in debt. They were based in Quebec, Canada. Kinda sad that it no longer exists, but this show will keep the memory standing.
Everything that was shown looks really good, however, one thing that I would change is that if there has to be jam in the log, I'd prefer cherry instead of strawberry. That's just my opinion.
I'd love to try one, they look so good! But I live in america, and too many idiots would try to eat the plastic poinsettia so they'd get banned pretty quick :(
It's a chocolate roll cake covered in ice cream. They sell those in the USA despite the crippling stupidity. Take a slice of cake, a spoon of ice cream, and eat. Nothing special.
“Along with liquid eggs.” I mean I know what he means but if the eggs aren’t liquid they are either already cooked or I am really concerned for the health of the chicken.
So a Yule Log dessert is basically a big Ho-Ho with jam and ice cream inside instead of cream filling, and covered with ice cream inside of hard chocolate? Gimme!
The company went bankrupt back in 2016. If you search “Lambert yule logs” you’ll get all the articles about it. Apparently the logs were very popular amongst people in Quebec, Canada.
@@mynameisopulence Poor guys. Well, if someone founds their own yule log company, I'll just advise them to take Lambert's route and use maple sugar instead of nuts.
the cake isn't thrown away, its cut into 3 pieces, watch carefully. For whatever reason, the script reads that it's thrown away, It obviously isn't. Profit margins on food are extremely thin. If they were actually pitching 2/3 of the cake away, they would make no money. The machine clearly puts the three slices into 3 containers.

"8cm excess of ice cream and jam which is thrown away" I was like, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
They should have made better machines. All that waste adds up over time :(
Me too tho
no yuo werent budy nice try.
If only they gave us the excess ice cream
You know the employees collect it, freeze it, and eat it at home.
the amount of waste at the rolling and cutting especially disgusts me
They probably reuse it in different parts of the factory....
If you look close you can see the workers grabbing the cakes and putting them onto more tins. 2:40
They somehow reuse them
I feel bad seeing those excess ice cream and jams being spoiled on the side. 🤤☹️
At 2:21 they say the excess is thrown away
i love how he makes such a huge point of her not touching the cake, and the person on the other side touche every single one

The extra could have been saved, mixed and made into the filler for a parfait or just a yummy treat.

I was thinking they could make a kickass milkshake or a la mode
I was thinking the same thing, smh.
Yeah!
I think that would we be really good if the extra was turned into a creamy frosting because that would taste good
Or maybe it can be blended together and turned into a thick drizzle YuMyUm
