- Hey guys, this is a very special video for me, because I got to make something for one of my favorite UA-camrs: Wintergatan.

if anyone could make this part for him, I raised my arm and he picked me to do it. This short film shows my process. Hope you enjoy :)

So awesome, Loved the video also. I know how much work it is to make these repeated things. And threading stainless steel on top of that :) Thank you for this MMX Contribution!
Fine parts for a fine mashine.
A CNC lathe I would have cranked these out quick-like. Also I have ran a screw head machine in the past which can crank out a lot of threaded parts quick. The threads are cut using a rotating head with 4 chaser bits 90° from each other. The feed is automated and will pop open once the thread reaches the stop length.
A horizontal bandsaw with hydraulic chuck could have cut all of them to length in one pass.
I think you're missing the point, Bill.
@@jeremycole2036 I must agree with you Jeremy, but as machinist I understand Bill's point of view.
great work, loved the video!
Tonyyyyy! Thank you so much :D
In some point, I've seen some TOT like sequence... To me, It's a kind of acknowledgement to TOT style ! 💪💪
Love you tony !
You guys rock.
The stop motion animation was amazing!
I'm here from Wintergatan, loved the video. Especially the stop motion part at the end :)
The stopmotion at the end gave me som good old Lemmings-memories =)
6:20 that additional threading step also helped make sure your deburring hadn't messed up the start of the threads as well.
The stop motion at the end was hilarious. Well done 😎
Martin from Wintergatan sent me - subscribed and liked! Thank you for helping Martin! :-)
I would never imagined that there was so much work behind there "small little simple" parts! Compliments!!
Makes me think of the Fleet Foxes song Helplessness Blues. Very good job, and very cool to see a video that isn't extraordinary, but a video that shows pride in mundane work towards a great goal.
Of course i know Wintergatan and his marble music machine. Congrats, that you are part of the new construction. And i know, how much work this is.
Cheerio aus dem Schwabenland.
That was amazing! The video the work, the workshop, the talent, the music that was put into this!! YOU are amazing!
Awesome work, it’s sooo satisfying to see all the process :)
Thank you for contributing to Wintergatan marble machine!
Here from Wintergatan. Glad you joined the team.
Very well done! Nice parts and a nice video about them! I bet Mike Jittlov would like that trailer where the parts eagerly packed themselves.
I loved the repetition action theme. New subscriber from Wintergatan.
Nice job great video on the Wintergatan Rods & Nuts. New fan of the project. Having fun watching all of the very talented creators. Thank you.
Brilliant video. I am impressed with the level of precision and care that you and all the other outsourced parts builders for the Marble Machine X put into your work.
I believe that the machine will be a very significant part of musical history. You will be able to show the Marble Machine X to your grandchildren and explain how your contribution.
I have a suspicion that the machine will be around long after we are all gone..
Loved the stop motion animation! Something about Wintergatan brings out a spirit of collaboration and community, thank you for contributing, I will think of your connecting rods when I get to see Martin and his machine during the World Tour :)

Quoted the whole comment because it's spot on and a great sentiment. I wish I had skills like these guys do just so I could make something for the MMX.
Great work, well done...Martin will be very happy 🏆👍🏼😊😉
I came from Wintergatan. Think I'll be staying a while. I can see why you got the gig. You're a great fit for the MMX team, and for Martin's unique creative style. I look forward to seeing you, with the rest of the gang, on the world tour! 👍🏼
Great video, and I want to say that I watch the Wintergatan updates every week, very excited seeing everything coming together. As this seems to be focused on continuing to develop practical engineering lessons, I thought it pertinent to point out that although this machine, and the 3D modeling involved show significant creativity in mechanical engineering, it is important to maintain a manufacturing focus when designing the parts. As a manufacturing engineer, I walk the line between design and manufacturing every day. Watching your video after watching Martin put these together make me slap my head knowing that the inside radius of the bend could have been accommodated in the 3D print design and a -0 +10mm tolerance could have been given on the thread length to eliminate that step as well.
Again, this video was awesome (you gained a subscriber and look to be gaining much more) but I always think about how much better we could make a product if we drove cost/ complexity out where there is no benefit to keeping it in. I do know that these were donated and adding complexity didn't increase cost, but his ultimate goal is to outsource machine(s) to have backups in the future. just my $0.02.
great video! i love the stop motion you did with the parts :)
Very nicely done parts and video :) its a beautiful thing to see how your craft and video making honors the MMX.
Followed the link from Wintergatan. Wonderful video! I loved the stop motion. Subscribed!
When I started this video I thought it might be boring but instead it was super fun!
I've never seen such groovy threads before.... let the rhythm take control :D
I already clicked subscribe at 3:01 ish, when I see the stop motion at the end (you've even made the cardboard stairs!) I like this video even more! Looking forward to your newer vids!

Great video! And the little animation with the rods and nuts at the end of the video was just lovely. Cool channel - subscribed ☺
Awesome video Thomas!
I must say that every member of the MMX team just radiate professionalism. You guys never seize to amaze me. I know I'm late, but I only recently discovered Wintergatan and the original MM song and I'm watching the videos from the start. Not skipping a single one.
Keep up the good work!
Thanks mate! It is quite an interesting journey! Have fun with it :)

Dropped in from watching the wintergaten video. Great work, and like others found the stop motion was both fun and well done. Earned a sub. You have a great day.

This honestly feels a lot like a wintergatan wednesday video

That anvil slowly getting closer.
Just another Martin Vintergatan sent. Subbed. Cheers 🍻
(since UA-cam turned their recommendations into a nightmare of boredom, recommendations of UA-camrs are the thing these days)
That was a lot of repetition work. Great Video!
Fantastic!
Vey nice animation at the end!
Very well done!
Knock Knock Joe sent me, I mean Wintergatan sent me. Nice video and great looking saw bench.
Subscribed! This channel deserves much more views!
Nice video!
Although you hadn't the appropriate machine, nor the appropriate approach to this kind of work, you have done this with your hearth. 👍
Cordless drill music will be the opening band for Wintergartan.
That rhythm, though... 😄😁🤣
You're like the younger, jazzier this old tony.
Awesome
Blasphemy!! :)
I wish I had this kind of talent! Kudos!
Came from Martin's video. Nice video! The stop motion at the end was a nice ending!

Very nice idea for video, great precision and work, take care, another sub from me!
Cool video.
good job mr man
Great video :-)
That's truly a work of love, great job!
That said I would have changed the design a bit to allow for more variations and save you time. E.G. the small radius can be added to the 3D printed part.
Thanks! Indeed, martin designed the 3D printed parts like that, but I wasn´t sure at the time how exactly he did it and so I just wanted to make sure they will fit no matter what on all details of the rods. Timewise all steps went quite quickly except from the thread cutting...
But you have a good point!
Hi, Martin sent me! I love how this was shot and edited!
Thank you and welcome to my channel!
Uh very cool technics to save time! Viele Grüße^^
Nice work, very detailed and time consuming specially with available equipment since they are not designed specifically for this purpose.
Nice video!
Oh my god you are a saint.
Nice touch with the nuts making the Wintergatan initials W.G. as they marched into the box ready to make music. :) Not sure anyone's commented on that yet and wanted to give you a shout out for it.
And P.W. for Pilot´s Workshop before that, thanks for commenting, you are the first for that! :)
Nice! :) Great work and glad to see your channel get a well deserved boost in viewership. Keep up the great work.
