Hey everyone! I hope all of you are doing great! This is an old upload that has been republished. ♥️
After 2 years of trying to grow my hair, I finally now could do this style after watching this video back in 2012. I liked it so much I decided to add it to my favourites. Today is my 2nd anniversary of growing my hair after 16 years of natural hair. I've done this style finally and looking forward to taking down the perm rods. I hope my hair turns out like yours after take down. Thank you Jess.

Great Video! Appx how much shrinkage did you get? I want this type of curl, but will be using perm rods on extensions and want to make sure it won't make my hair too short. If it helps, the longest the extensions will be is appx 18 inches...
Seeing this vid makes me so happy! This was my go-to style when my hair was permed...recently cut off my locs...I can try this style again. I am so hair crushing right now! Our hair is beautiful!!!!!

I just did this style yesterday and I have to say, I love ecostyler gel! After watching you use it a couple of times, I bought some perm rods and curled my hair. I've been getting compliments like crazy for it, though I used the peach and orange rods, 12/16" and 13/16".
I'm not too good with perm rods but I think I'm going to try it again. I really like this style.
This is soooooooo ironic, im sitting under the dryer replicating the same excat hairstyle, for my bday tomorrow. I used the grey, white and pink perm rods. The fronts, I had to piggy back. It took me 8hrs to put them all in and I also took the parts super small. I have to sit under the dryer because my hair won't dry over night. The hairstyle is super beautiful on you, very nice job. Bravo!!!!

I watch your videos all the time. Your hair is gorgeous! In this video, your hair looks so moisturized. Did you use a moisturizer before you applied the Eco Styler gel? If not what moisturizer or procedure do you use to make your hair look so moisturized? Also, can you get this same look with Curlformers?

I don't think you'll have the same results, as she has naturally curly hair, (I'm assuming you have straight hair, correct me if I'm wrong.) But please experiment and see how it goes! :)
Yes. you probably won't. I mean you can try it lol it always good to try new things on people hair, but since your hair is thin and thick and not natural like hers it might be looser curls than upper curls.
+Pinkbuttons ! yours can turn out the same just make sure you use setting lotion to hold the hair while you use the rods

Yes. but there not going to get the same results as black or mixed people hair there hair is different from white girls and asians... it's thick, volume, not thin and silky that will slip the curls and make it looser.

You do know that African Americans have various hair textures, not just one? If you didn't know now you know.
Because her curl pattern is very loose. She probably is mixed or Caribbean
kayla ayan some 100% African Americans have looser textures. Just like caucasians can have flat to curly hair, blacks from all over the world have varying textures without being multi racial. Not everyone is 4c.
