I'm still passionite and a kid !!! If it comes to games !!! I don't need to win !! Just making some fun !!! Nintendo is da best CONSOLE !!! FUCK THESE PLAYSTATIONS !!! NO FUN !!! YOU FEEL NOTHING !!!! NO EMOTIONS !!!
Scott Hartley my brother you are 110% right, just the build up it’s self was excitement Thursday night going into Friday. We knew from the time stepping off that bus,to the video store, pick out about 4 /6 video games, grab some McDonald’s or pizza,or Chinese food. Don’t let it be raining out for the weekend lol, call your best friend over and let the action begin. The only thing that would mess up the weekend was teachers giving you an assignment called current events. This generation will never ever know what it was like being a kid,and I’m a 80’s baby. The 90’s was that era.
My brother and I spend many hours playing games like Life Force and Double Dragon just to name a few back in the '80's. These games were so fun and and like others here mentioned, the soundtracks were such a big part of it and really just drew you in. Thanks for posting. Brings back great memories.
Watching this brings back good memories for me. I was not into games really but I got all the Nintendo consoles for my son when he was young. When he got older I got him Xbox live. My family is no longer together. God I wish I had a time machine to go back to fix the mistakes I made. To me nothing like family. Very good times for me. I could not remember the name of this to save my life. I did a webserch of 100 Nintendo games and the front of the box looked like it. Now the video ! Great this was one of the games. Thank you to the person that posted it on UA-cam. Much more than a game to me. Good times of my life !!!
I remember discovering the Konami code for extra lives worked on this game! I immediately called my neighborhood friend and we quickly went on to finally beat it. Ah, good gaming memories! Double option laser for me!
@Bill Perri Gradius II kick the hell out of both game in NES if it ever released outside of Nippon. But sadly, it didn't happens. Because, it was so heavily influenced by Contra and Super C.
Now this is like lookin at my self doing a ZEN moment. Love this game. Gradius was hell. LifeForce is focus. this was Gradius 2. love the bosses. (The reaching brain). and egypt. thank you for showing.
Same! Literally YEARS. I can’t believe it finally. I used to play this on my uncles Nintendo system and never really checked what the name was. There’s another one similar to this I’m looking for but you weren’t in a fighter jet but you flew around shooting on like rocket packs if I remember correctly. That game was fun too. Graphics look similar
So good. I'm looking at NES shooters and so many just seem half-finished, but this one has everything right -- movement, inventory balance, color contrast, soundtrack. Also we each discovered the same principle for no deaths: dive straight at the eyeball and boil it before the whole screen fills up. :D Pity about the encoding compression. For the audience, you have my solemn oath that the missiles come out both sides and the shield is superimposed. Even better, get a CRT and try it. ;>
I have not read one negative comment about this game. Must be a good reason. Better simpler times. We are now living through some very difficult times. Big change in a short time. I want these times back ASAP.
Man, the memories. I was a little shit back in the day! My parents got me this game(along with a couple others)for my Christmas presents. I found them stashed somewhere before my mom wrapped them for Christmas, so one day I faked being sick for school, unwrapped the game and beat it before my parents came home from work! Then I put it back in the box and stashed it back where it was. My mom never found out. 🤣🤣🤣
I remember my friend would play this game and when he'd finally got to the end and defeated it, I said, "Wow, dude...what a shitty ending." *lol* Good game, tho.
Played this a ton with my dad back in the day. Loved how it got harder if you beat it. Got pretty good at it. Put it down for like 10 years and when I moved out I hooked up the NES with my roomate and fired it up. I beat the whole game without dying. Roomate was like what the hell did I just see?
Does anyone know why this version isn't available on any of the arcade collections? This was the one I remember playing on my NES in the UK. It didn't have the annoying voice overs. Other than emulation, you can't seem to buy this specific version for a home console like the switch or the Xbox / PS.
Me as a kid: my little mind blown. Me as a boring adult: I wonder how long it took for the Easter island laser ring shooter heads to be built? That just seems expensive and impractical.
This was the game they had set up to play/demo in my local store...they guy who owned the store hated us hanging around to play this and always kicked us out after an hour haha...it got worse when the snes was released he got a flashy Nintendo demo system that u stood on and had surround sound I think? anyways it was loud fzero was the demo game.. Awesome
One of my 300 best games on my NES Nintendo !!! I think I have now 300 games so far !! Wanna re-live the old good times again? Maybe youth, wanna feel, how it is to play an old Nintendo ?? Everyone is welcome. Let's have some fun. Who is the best gamer ? You or me ? Try me !! Catch some beer and Lays chips !! Woman ? Youth ? no problem. Water and coca cola for me. Can you defeat me in SUPER MARIO bros or other games ?? If so, I will laugh. Hehehhe, having the best time of my life. Respect, It was so fun. So nice to have a playmate again. Even for 1 hour !
Holy crap I never knew Life Force was actually the original Gradius!!!!!!!!! I grew up on Gradius 3 and always wondered why I had never ever seen Gradius 1 or 2.
This game brings back so many memories! I still own it for the NES and play occasionally. I just bought the remastered addition and was slightly disappointed because the game isn’t the same as the original..it’s still a fun challenge regardless of the differences.
How many tries did it take to do all that with no hits? I think the Konami code was a crutch for me, but without it I would have got frustrated and gave up. What's your secret?
Suddenly remember this game in my childhood because I've never beaten this game 😂 even for today's standard this is still a difficult game to beat i think

Pegboy Though the Famicom version of Life Force is indeed called Salamander, the original arcade and PC Engine games were called Salamander as well and though based on the same game, were quite different. As well, Salamander has a different upgrade system (the upgrades drops directly, where Life Force has the Gradius system where you can choose), the original Gradius shield (protects only from the front and can take multiple shots), and has four options instead of two (NES processor couldn't handle four). Quite different art design too.
Just FYI: If you want acquire an instant "shield", you let the demo first. Than immediately start the game. It's the ol' tricks I've ever known so far.
Played this game when I was 13 yo. Now I'm 44 and still get so passionate. How nostalgic!

Friday Nights will never be the same, renting this game, with double dragon 2,Tyson punch out,Mario 2 from the video store. The 80’s was great!!
Double Dragon 2 my friend.... really makes out my entired childhood's saturday night.
Agree!
Yes indeed! A Super Supreme pizza from Pizza Hut, a bottle of Coca Cola, and some great NES action with friends staying over, and that was good times!
Scott Hartley my brother you are 110% right, just the build up it’s self was excitement Thursday night going into Friday. Action802....if you want to see a kid cry today, put him front of the original NES Ninja Gaiden and wish him the best of luck >:)
The soundtrack of this game. . . is irreplaceable. THE BEST!!
What about Gradius 3 soundtrack called Easter Stone? Try to search it..
Have you played castlevania games?
My brother and I spend many hours playing games like Life Force and Double Dragon just to name a few back in the '80's. These games were so fun and and like others here mentioned, the soundtracks were such a big part of it and really just drew you in. Thanks for posting. Brings back great memories.
Memorieeessss!!!!! Man I loved this game!!!!! 42 years old now. 32 years has passed since then....
I feel crying sometimes especially when I see these videos to know I came from that era I just don't what it is but this is just sweet
Don't forget laughing at the absurdity of how easy these pros make the game seem.
We are lucky, shit will never be the same again
same here dude
I know exactly how you feel don't feel strange about it. It comes from better simpler times.
I hear ya bro. Soon to be 41 and once was a kid with hopes and dreams. The world changed too much too fast.
I'm 43 now and I spent hours on this game. Absolutely loved it and the movie. Very nostalgic
Watching this brings back good memories for me.

This just make me appreciate the arcade even more
This game bring back my childhood memories..thanks for the video idol..keep safe
This game was marketed as the sequel to Gradius for the NES. It delivered!
But the true sequel was never fully released outside of Japan. Had to wait until Wii console. Then, it can actually play that.
@Bill Perri
Gradius II kick the hell out of both game in NES if it ever released outside of Nippon. But sadly, it didn't happens. Because, it was so heavily influenced by Contra and Super C.
No it was salamander but the us version get yo facts right
@@forthesakeofthenationalist9375 Yes it did,.. it is called Nemesis for the Gameboy
Best game ever, one of the best soundtracks of my spooky childhood too. Waiting for Anthems release this month.
Now this is like lookin at my self doing a ZEN moment. Love this game. Gradius was hell. LifeForce is focus. this was Gradius 2. love the bosses. (The reaching brain). and egypt. thank you for showing.
My gosh, I've been looking for this game for a very long time coz i forgot its name.
Hahahaha me too but found earLyy
I've completely forgot about this game but I'm glad I found this.

OMG I used to play this all the time as a kid this game and the NES Gradius was my pre Thunder Force days. Great Playthrough.
Love Lifeforce!
I was never very good at videogames, but this was one I could always beat with no losses if I really tried.
Video or it didn't happen 🤷♂️
19:36 X-Men: Apocalypse borrowed from this stage ending lol
Playing this game on a big screen was mind blowing. Especially that 3rd boss 😲
Wow... very good old time... it make me cry. I loved this game. I still have it.
You did awesome. The best I can do is no death on all the stages except the third stage (damn solar flares).
Life force... Such a hard game but so fun to play
On Stage 3, this firey level is terrifying and scary because of the fire that goes up and whooped like a killer rainbow. 😱
So good. I'm looking at NES shooters and so many just seem half-finished, but this one has everything right -- movement, inventory balance, color contrast, soundtrack. Also for the Boss of Stage 4, do you get more Points for shooting down it’s Eyes?
One of my favorite childhood games. Excellent programming.
You know it’s about to go down when that boss music starts 😳
I was playing this when i was 7 y.o on 1996 with my brother 8 y.o, and really happy can beat this until the end. What a sweet memories.
We all feel the same got and played with my son that I love more than life !!!
Great gameplay. I was wondering if you used a cheat but the gameplay was really tight. Congrats.
Nice work!) Good game and good music, maybe even better than Gradius 2, thanks man.
Every time I see this beautiful game, I remember how innocent childhood days were, as if I was in a dream😢😢😢
I love this game, it's in my blood after all these years...
The soundtracks of this game are amazing!!! It's even better than Gradius 1.
I have not read one negative comment about this game.
