There’s a lot lacking from modern Who, sadly. I keep watching it because I love Doctor Who but I never felt that modern Who had the heart that classic had. Not saying it’s bad, because there are a lot of episodes that were really good but, for me anyway, I constantly rewatch scenes, episodes and stories from classic Who. First of all, I LOVE having these characters return for these little mini-sodes. I would love to see a few of these classis characters return to the show WITH their extended history, including Big Finish stories. We so often see a companion's FIRST adventures and experiences, with their INexperience providing the opportunity for the "What's that, Doctor?" role. But many of these characters have a long history now, with many, many more adventures with their Doctors. It would be wonderful to see that much more developed, matured relationship. Many of the performers behind those characters might also have very different takes in the present day (looking at all that screaming Peri and Mel were asked to do). This little glimpse of Peri shows so much. Nicola does a superb job of showing us a stern face to start, then little flashes of Peri's attitude and laugh. But the most charming for me was the invitation to the Tardis. Still playful, but full of warmth and grace. She isn't the wide-eyed child here, she has grown, and is offering that chance to someone new, perhaps even as a mentor. Even if it isn't within the main show, I would love for there to be some vehicle to expand beyond these little mini-sodes.

I think Nicola Bryant may well be an actual Time Lady as she appears to have barely aged. I was a teenager watching her in Doctor Who and she still looks younger than me now. Wibbly wobbly timey wimey is the only solid scientific theory that explains it.
Colin Baker got such a raw deal and Nicola right alongside him! The more I see what those two have done over on Big Finish the more I realize that what it would have taken were good scripts! (And, yes: I loved "The Trial of a Time Lord" arc but, hey, the rest...? Not so much.) Both are amazing performers and I definitely am glad to see them getting the love, these days, that they so deserve!
I really like that this means the Doctor went back for Peri. I recall one of the late Virgin Publishing 7th Doctor novels that portrayed Peri's relationship with Ycarnos as not happy, for Peri at least. This implies it was far better for her, and she got to go back to Earth, and maybe other places.
After a very long delay the box set arrived and having now gorge through the contents I am very happy indeed. My biggest praise though is for Janet Fielding in the Behind the Sofa segments. She is highly amusing and entertaining to listen to. I never knew what a witty and clever comedian she could be (without even trying). Peter seems to enjoys playing the superior intellect poking fun at wobbly sets etc...just like a uni student from my past, but it is all good fun. In fact this feature on all the episodes is incredibly engaging. One minute Colin Baker is defending the violence and we cut to Wendy Padbury criticising the violence with conviction. A great joy to see these episodes again and for the most part I feel they have held up very well. The interview with Colin when he discusses the loss of his very young son is heartbreaking yet it is an important message for all of us who day by day forget about perspective and it iso poignant. Worth every dollar spent. A great set for sure. All 80 Who kids should buy this one for sure. And I add my voice form praise of Colin Baker. I'm afraid I will never like the costume but his characterisation was very inventive, engaging and overall delightfully unpredictable.

Absolutely love these little new stories for the blu ray release, they are so good, it's also great to see the old doctors and companions back on screen in character, is it wrong of me to say I'm enjoying these more than the new series
Not at all, would watch some new classic doctor minisodes than chibnalls era any day!
@@Dimension5Productions glad it's not just me then😂
There is nothing wrong with that.
I think Nicola Bryant may well be an actual Time Lady as she appears to have barely aged. I was a teenager watching her in Doctor Who and she still looks younger than me now. Wibbly wobbly timey wimey is the only solid scientific theory that explains it.
That was lovely! I’ve never seen this era but great to see Peri’s actress come back 😊
These trailers just keep on topping themselves, I’m so excited for this!
The music on this is stunning. I'd love to see what could be done if some of these classic episodes were rescored like this.
Nicola still has that classic Peri smile even in the role of Queen Perpugilliam of Thordon
This is one of the best mini-episode trailers so far! Why did I get chills? Nicola is as beautiful as ever.
I think you just answered your own question! :P
Amazing stuff and after all these years Nicola is still a beauty.

"Yes Jamie that is a big one"
Are there any special blu rays of anything Michael Grade commissioned after he axed Who? Thought not.
I'm not going to say I cried a little when I heard Six calling from the TARDIS.
3:12 why did he know he'd have a laugh like that
This video was 7 minutes and 11 seconds of Pure Gold.
BRING HER BACK RTD! BRING HER BACK!!! 👏👏👏
This trailer does leave the doors open
Hooray- about time season 22 got some love. HD + the Sixth Doctors coat, a marriage made in heaven😄
5:08 fun fact: she played Clara's grandmother in the tenth doctor's final episode
It was Eleven's final episode. 🙂
@@retnavybrat oh yeah sorry
@@youknow227 No worries. After nearly 60 years worth of episodes, I'm surprised more of us _don't_ get companions and Doctors mixed up. 😁
S22 is up there with my favorite seasons of Classic Who! It's very different to what came before but it's also extremely creative and fun.
Ah Peri. You haven't changed. Still lovable as ever.
Colin Baker: Good new though, this one has extra features. Even more of me!
Brilliant to see Peri again. Will definitely buy the box set. Thanks for giving us the fans what we want. Such a happy surprise today. Bless ❤️
Beautiful scenes, amazing to see Peri again 👍🏻 See what happens when you give the fans what they want, you get a like from me 😊
It's a lovely thought to think after her time with Yrcanos, she went back for some travels with the 6th doctor 🥺
I wanna see a peri spin off series now
Brilliant, I hope this means we will get more standard box releases of previous collections
2:37 It's so satisfying to hear them actually say "snap" at the same time, and not slightly out of sync.
Colin Baker got such a raw deal and Nicola right alongside him!
The more I see what those two have done over on Big Finish the more I realize that what it would have taken were good scripts! (And, yes: I loved "The Trial of a Time Lord" arc but, hey, the rest...? Not so much.)
Both are amazing performers and I definitely am glad to see them getting the love, these days, that they so deserve!
Ncola Bryant looks even better NOW than when she was in the show.
"Keep your spats on, Rainbow!" Good one, Peri.
Wow! Nicola looks great and is SUCH a better actress now.
Quite interesting to see Michael Grade involved in this
I'm reckoning this interview alone would be worth the price of admission.
Peri should have said, "I am Perpugilliam, of the Brown, Queen of the Krontep Empire - but you no doubt already know this" 🤣
it's a lovely mini episode but now that you mention it, her introducing herself like that would have been the only better way to do it! 😍
I was just wondering when we were going to get Season 22! Already preordered 😊
For us big finish fans, this is a little like our 60th reunion. Shout out to Erimem, WE MISS YOU QUEEN!!!
This is so wonderful. I’m glad glad to know Peri had a happy ending, and was able to reconnect with the Doctor. ❤️
love these box sets and trailers sooooo much
Well, this is delightful. Thank you so much for making it.
This trailer was amazing and if put after the End of Trial of a Timelord cannon for me.
My favourite Cybermen and Dalek stories are coming to blu ray!
My name's isaac 😊
Damn, Nicola still looks awesome.
