I purchased the Godox X1N 2.4G and Godox XTR-16 2.4G, to control my Godox Witstro AD360. I set the channel and group on both and the X1N would only fire the test and not control the power. I then found your youtube channel and the Godox units does not have function above 6, I then search google for firmware update and was able to download the upgrade software and firmware file and after upgrading the firmware I was able to control the power and the full function set from 1-8. I would recommend to anyone that purchase either version of the Godox X1N to be sure to upgrade the firmware to have complete functions.
thanks, I actually purchased a ad360ii TTL which has worked fine and this morning I ordered the adorama deal of the day Flashpoint 360 streaklight manual and a XTR 16 so I can control it with my X1T. If I have issues i'll be sure to upgrade firmware of the X1T

Another this is the locking pin does not line up to lock the X1N on the camera, if not tighten down very well it will sip off the camera.

After much experimenting, i found that for the most part, setting at zero is correct at typical distances. But when i used the softbox at about 2-3 ft. from subject, it is overexposed (TTL using fel).

Good information in the video. I was also frustrated with the default controls. I still am not able to get the trigger to shoot the auto focus beam. I have my Nikon on Single focus and Single shot and have the R2 auto focus beam turned on, but I still get nothing. Any help on this would be great. Thanks.
you have custom function 6 set to ON?
by single focus you mean AF-S (opposed to AF-C or AF-A), your camera menu has AF-assist light activated (not sure that will do anything)

Sure would like to ask you guys more about OCF TTL. Using this system, i found that using a rim light, it threw off my key light and made it get very darker,even if a sliver of direct rim peaked thru toward camera. Seems for the most part, as long as the rim was entirely behind me, the key exposure was correct. Found out also, that i had to use diffusion panel on umbrella and also the rim, otherwise once again, it threw off my key. I guess having a zoom setting that isn't compatible with the key changes things.
yeah if im at a wedding reception with multiple flashes around the dancefloor and if my camera "sees" one of the speedlights in the frame it will see that bright light and underexpose my other lights.

I went it to the custom function 5 to change 128 to negative 128 but when I turn to wheel it would not change but it changes to 256. What am I doing wrong.

Hi, I'm having this issue that when I change a setting in the transmitter, fire and turn it off, when I turn it on again, instead of having the last setting I gave it, it has the setting from when I first turned it on that day, making me having to change each group again and again. Any advice on this?
I am able to unlock the 1/256 thank you. However I am not able to use the dial to scroll through the different settings on the transmitter. It is stuck on that setting unless I go in to the group and change it. What a pain! How do I change this any ideas?
The transmitter shows ABC as ttl its not change how can i solve this problem....??

I can't seem to get my Flashpoint xplor 600 to switch into TTL mode...is there some sort of trick to it? I bought the TTL version second hand off ebay and the guy who sold it to me is of no help...and conveniently the manual was not included in the package...
Make sure your r2 and the Xplor are both in Ch 1, turn your Xplor to Group A, make sure you're about 2 ft away from the Xplor and on the R2 change the mode until it says TTL

Manual that came with it doesn't even show function 07. When i found it, it only has "on" of off, not an numerical setting like you have.
what firmware are you on? im still on an older v 15. to check your fw power on the R2 and hold mode i think for ~5 sec

Thanks Spencer, but i have a different version than those. I tried what they said.Mine isn't Godox, it just says FP Flashpoint R2
There is nothing to figure out in this wireless trigger or any Godox/ Flashpoin flash units if you read the instructions books than come with them...

You're not doing anything wrong. You have a newer version. It let's you select "256" instead of the 128- :)
Just received my Flashpoint zoom Li-on R2 flash with the R2 receiver did what you suggested and also didn't need t go from 1/128 - instead it took me to 256. My problem is getting the flash to work off of my camera. How do I do this
Make sure both transmitter and flash are on ch 1, put the speedlight in group A radio slave mode (wifi looking symbol)

When I press the channel button on the flash it doesn't do anything so I can't put it on channel 1that why it won't work off camera or in HSS
you have to hit the Ch button (which should put a black box around whatever channel you are on) and then roll the circle wheel around until you get to 1

Question please. Can you make rear curtain sync work with a nikon system? I can't. Also, do you know anywhere to update firmware? Very little on the web to find information. Thanks Ron
I wasnt able to get the rear curtain/2nd curtain icon to appear like the manual shows, but when i turned my nikon cameras to rear curtain mode it appeared to work. i havent looked into any firmware updates yet for my flashpoint gear. Check out this facebook group for help with godox/flashpoint gear

thanks for the reply. when i mount the transmitter on my D800 the rear curtain symbol disappears on the camera. And in the custom function 04 like the manual says was added in latest firmware still looks to be a multiple flash setup. Done the firmware check by power up and holding button and says V16. I take it that's supposed to be the latest? My PW flex and mini work fine on rear curtain. Can't get a response from the Flashpoint sellers. If you figure out anything else please let me know. Very disappointing, especially when it's advertised to have the capability. Thanks again, Ron
bummer. I just tried my flashpoint Zoom TTL R2 speedlights and my Xplor strobe, both worked in rear curtain mode on both my D600 and D750. In TTL mode at first curtain the pre-flash fired and at the rear curtain the flash went off again.In manual flash as i expected only 1 flash went off at rear curtain

I'm finding it over exposes the flash output for some reason. I set the Group to A at zero (B to -2).
I'm spot metering even and still over exposed. When I use the two flash units as a transmitter (not using actual transmitter) the exposures are ok. I know I could turn down "A"group on transmitter to -1 and accordingly "B" down to -3 and it's better, but how am i supposed to know it's really a true and correct output of flash?
Yeah at that point I'd probably be in manual

hi Spencer maybe you can help me out =) im having difficulty getting the af laser to work. the switch is on but no laser =/ maybe its something im thinking that needs to be turned on or transmitter is defective

+Raymond Garcia - a couple things to try. In your custom function menu you need to turn on the option, then make sure it's turned on in your camera menu (if it's an option), then turn your camera AF mode to AF-S (not continuous) and make sure the AF beam is switched to ON on the transmitter
Can you turn any group off like with the original R1?
Yes you can set any group to "---" which is off
(canon version) I discovered that by holding the GR button, it enabled this feature. Your video is EXTREMELY helpful. Thanks :)
I can set the custom function to show 5 groups but it only shows 3 groups unless I set it go GR mode. Any ideas as to why this is is happening? I have version 19 installed. Thanks.

not sure what you mean. how does the zoom flash control the x1t? how do you get the x1t to control a zoom flash?
