Guerlain ideal cologne is a great one soo underrated and under appreciated
Personally, I've narrowed down my collection to just 10 (possibly less in the future) consisting of only Mancera and PdM which covers me for all seasons, all occasions, and all moods.
From Mancera I've got:
Lemon Line
Cedrat Boise
Aoud Lemon Mint
Black Gold
Aoud Vanille
Red Tobacco
Black to Black
From PdM:
Layton (nice fragrance for slightly warmer temps)
Herod (nice fragrance for colder temps)
Oajan (nice gourmand)
It did take me around 2 years or so to get to this point and I had to try out a bunch of fragrances to get to where I am at now, but I am completely happy with what I have. As I said, it covers me for everything and the scents themselves vary enough that I can keep an interesting rotation going. They're all fragrances that sell great, project well, and last long. In total this collection did cost me around $850 though (obviously didn't pay retail prices).
100% agree on JV Vintage. I blind bought it due to your enthusiasm for it. And I love it every time I wear it. It is a 10/10 fragrance for me!
Update: Also agree 100% with Emperor. I used to own a 2013 Aventus, which I LOVED. My new 2018 Aventus is bad. Emperor smells exactly as pleasant as my 2013 Aventus did. Love it. Also 10/10!

With that Guerlain you can literally overspray it and it will never be a problem, no one would fix their mouth to say anything. It's that light, amazing, and sophisticated with that almond note. I swear if clouds had a smell, that would be it.

I must say, I purchased Wanted By Night just before Christmas and found the performance not what I was used to in comparison to when I tested it a number of months beforehand. I later researched online and found that there had been a reformulation. I think that is super disappointing considering the fragrance is a little over 1 year old, but this seems to be the way for most designer releases these days unfortunately. Great video bro :)

Light Blue Intense doesn't get the love it deserves. I like it more than PDM Percival, Le Labo Bergamot 22, Acqua Di Parma Colonia Pura and other Niche freshies. It's that good.

Guerlain L'Homme Ideal Cologne as frag newbie I would describe it as manly tropical fruit punch , almost gourmand like but also very classy, its one of my absolute favorites.
My Tommy tester came with a cap for 18 euro sir... I grew up with it.. Love it still! My love from Greece!
I also have Light Blue EI, L’Homme Ideal Cologne, and by your recommendation John Varvatos Vintage. I also got Channel AHSEE, that’s my dumb reach by far. Kind of cautions getting a Aventus clone due to me getting a decant of Mont Blanc Explorer and not liking the base scent.

TheSoulGem Try PV Emperor EdP. It is phenomenal! Better than any Aventus you can buy and as good as my 2013 was back in the days.

Don’t know about the Extrait. Blind bought the EdP due to JC’s recommendation. You can trust this guy 😉. Every blind buy I did (3 total) were all phenomenal!
The great thing about Vintage is that as you get older it seems to “fit” even better. It’s great for the mature guy.

In warmer weather, Vintage seems very confusing. That sweet tobacco and dried fruits need cold weather to shine. If I could start again, I would advise to buy the tried and true classics first (like Habit Rouge or Heritage, Gentleman Givenchy EDP and EDT or Monsieur de Givenchy, Aramis 900 or New West, etc) for price / value and carefully review and sample before blind purchasing.

Great choices JC especially the DG Lightblue Eau Intense for the summer and L'homme Ideal Cologne I really love these fragrances, i bought the Ideal Cologne last week. For the winter Wanted by night is an excellent pick. Tommy is definitely a dumb reach fragrance, bought myself a bottle a few months ago and wearing it when I don't know what to spray on next but my collection is getting huge so no surprise there :)) Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme is a killerjuice.

Buy aromachemicals and mix your own. Ambroxan + Iso E Super = Easy. Dihydromyrcenol + that mix = aquatic manly opening. Super easy stuff to learn.

When you’re staring to collect don’t buy full bottles, go with 50ml trust me you’ll save money to put towards other fragrances & just get to explore more without being stuck with full bottles. Just a lil tip 👍🏽

A cheaper alternative to creed Aventus would be mont blanc explorer but with amazing performance as well
I like Explorer, but it just doesn't have as much depth when it dries. Its pleasant, but it just goes a little flat for me.
Def concur with the Guerlain Ideal. The only cologne that got a compliment from the wife. So inoffensive. PV is so much for a clone though
Love that Guerlain! Very high quality and very pleasant. In my experience with clones, you kind of get what you pay for. You can buy something like Club de Nuit Intense for way less, but to my nose Emperor is simply a better quality scent. But let’s not forget...$95 is no small amount, but it’s a lot better than $435 (current retail price of Aventus at Bloomingdale’s), or even $211 (current price on Fragrancenet). 😉

Can you explain more why you preferred the Emperor more than the other offerings by Parfum Vintage? Also, what do you think about Parfum Vintage pricing for a clone of Creed Aventus? Hi Bunmi, thanks for joining my channel. It nice to see you. I haven’t tried every offering from PV, but I like Emperor EDP the most because it is the closest to my batch/bottle of Aventus, which I no longer wear because it has started to go bad. It has a nice balance of fruity pineapple and musk, amidst the other facets. I have also received a lot of positive comments while wearing Emperor, more than I ever did with Aventus. Just a personal preference. And yes, their prices are high for clones. The reality is that they’re still cheaper than Aventus lol, but they do use high quality ingredients. That is how they justify their pricing.
