America needs to come to terms with this. Two black blind men created an anthology of music. Both with Jim Crowe. What does freedom cost? We cannot forget. The American public enjoyed and endorsed their success because of the exaltedness of their musical expression.
The Orchestration in all of Ray's songs mae you wanna cry, along with his vocals.i urge the readers to listen to Marvin Gayes version of Yesterday also.

I think I saw Ray once telling how that piece of music was taught to him by a man named Wiley Pittman who owned the store next to the house Ray and his mother lived in at Greenvale, Florida. Apparently Pittman was a keen amateur ragtime pianist and taught Ray a lot when he was very young.

You're wrong. It's obvious that someone can replace them. I'm not here to piss you of, but millions of years will come. Do you even think that someone won't replace them in those millions of years?
@@pauloferreira313 Not what Ray went through, with segregation his blindness. The man went from rags to being in my opinion the best voice in the industry. Nobody will ever replace the genuis who invented soul. Ray Charles forever!
Somewhere It was stated, that Ray knew what a song should have sounded like better than the original artist. I hate to admit it might be better than Paul's.
It's no wonder Paul McCartney loved Ray Charles so much. He's the only one who can cover a Beatle's song!
true
gsdsteve And made it even better than the original.
exactly!!!!!!!!!
Si hermano. Aleluya
Check out The Seekers version of Yesterday. It’s very good as well.
Nothing better...ever.

I'm 66 years old. My dad loved to hear him sing, loved his voice.
The genius at work. He cannot be bettered. 🎶🎵🎼🎸🎷
As a music major hearing the Traumerei as the intro to Yesterday is the icing on the cake for this performance. The man was such a showman.
I agree, and I have a masters degree in music.
+Abe Grimm I agree, too, and I know how to turn on UA-cam

The cake was Paul McCartney having the dream. The icing was Ray Charles remake. This is dreamcake & ice cream.
This arrangement and performance by brother Ray and the entire orchestra is thrilling!
I can’t believe I almost past away with out ever listening to this incredible combination!
As a mistro,/drum major , /conductor im very intrigued on ray Charles set of mind wooooowwww!!!!!! Sincerely Bret Stewart
Ray Charles doesn't play music, he let his emotion play.
Ray Charles always gave his deep hearted soul in everyway .
America needs to come to terms with this. Two black blind men created an anthology of music. Both with Jim Crowe. What does freedom cost? We cannot forget. The American public enjoyed and endorsed their success because of the exaltedness of their musical expression.
this epic beauty reminds me of tomorrow. saint Ray

Ray, was a great entertainer and an extraordinary showman; and that is an understatement.

Ab Ba I feel ya!
An all time great Musician. "What a life" is in fact a perfect way to describe this man.
Ray Charles, heard for the first time one day of july 1960 (Lonely Avenue song) and never forget that amazing moment.
I dunno why but of all cover to this song that I heard this is the only one that gave me chills.
Wow I wish you could see me applauding you uncle Ray. You did it uncle !! I salute you

Cissy Houston (yes her mother) has a great live rendition of this song still on utube for now
És grande, muy talento
Mitico Ray
Fantastic
Ray Charles brought a few of the Beatles songs to an entirely different level, no discredit meant for the band.

Il suo canto è uno stile unico un'opera d'arte
Quelle merveille !!!
Yesterday, song with more covers. Ray Charles made a great version
That's called a lead in. Mysterious this one as it gives no clue as to what's to follow. That's the genius of Ray.
Love the conductor awkwardly trying to keep up with Ray Charles.
NOBODY DISLIKED THIS.
@FutureAbe before I saw this, I had been learning how to play it for some time... WOW RAY JUST WOW
Ray !!
カッコよすぎるやろ、これ。
Величайший музыкант
Grazie Ray .....
sure there will be no other Ray Charles again, or even a "new" Paul McCartney... irreplaceable artists!
You're wrong. It's obvious that someone can replace them. I'm not here to piss you of, but millions of years will come. Do you even think that someone won't replace them in those millions of years?
Ray Charles, a singular talent. There will NEVER be another like him!!
Everyone is uniquely different from each other. You cannot replace human beings much less great artists
There was only one Ray Charles! We will never see another like him.

That is correct. I have the whole concert and interviews and he states that Mr Pittman taught him those old melodies.
Somewhere It was stated, that Ray knew what a song should have sounded like better than the original artist. I hate to admit it might be better than Paul's.
Ray faz nessa música, o "Homem e o piano serem um único ser". Veja com atenção.
Yesterday..................
