    I bought a 2002 Blazer ZR2 LS about 6yrs ago from a Grandpa that kept it in the garage & she's a beautiful beast.
    Runs better than my Wife's new car!
    However, I do have a new HD Tranny in her, the stock Sunshields snap easily & when they go? Just get a whole new Tranny. I did some under the hood improvements like, new Distributor, Cap, Rotor, Coil, ECM, Drivers side upper control arm, brakes, rotors, plugs, oil cooler deleted, etc.
    I'm getting the sticker 16mpg but I hate towing because my temp gets a little above 210° here South of Houston TX.

    Love my 03 blazer ive had it for 8 years now and its got 265k miles on it the only bad thing about these the fuel pumps are trash so make sure you change out the fuel filter every 3 months and use a good fuel cleaner every 3 weeks 👍

    I have a 2017 1/2 crew but I also have 2 of these a 99 2D and a 2000 like this one. I have fixed 98% of the rattles and rebuilt most of the 99 but then again Im a mechanic by profession 40 years. I LOVE Driving the blazer over my newer big truck. My 99 is 4x4 but I went to non AT tires. Too stiff! They are cheep but the wrecking yard is full of them for parts. Nobody fixes them they throw them away. All this said I have 3 times invested over actual worth lol.

    I have a 2000 Sonoma Highrider. Absolutely love this truck, very reliable and I’m getting a tune up tomorrow. It’s COMICALLY noisy going down the road to the point where I can’t even distinguish which interior panel or outer trim piece the noise is coming from, the doors barely shut and the hood cable is tucked into the grille because the latch broke back when I was in elementary school. I’ve had hot wheels cars with better build quality but it’s comfortable, the radio never fails and I would trust it to take me to Alaska and back.

    It's a great vehicle I highly recommend it.
    Even if you buy a "newer" vehicle you'll end uP^ having to spending money on it eventually and probably more expensive parts and you'll have to pay someone to do the job because the newer vehicles are getting more sophisticated especially the electric cars.

    My parents had a dark green '98 Blazer LS 4 door when I was a kid. They traded it for a '99 Astro AWD Waldoch in early spring of 2000 shortly after I turned 9. I was not happy about it either. I'm currently saving up for a Blazer of this vintage as of this writing. Can't wait to get it. Wish me luck!

    Thank you for this very informative video, I kept going back and repeating making sure I got it. March 2021 I purchased 2012 Chevy Blazer and it's all that you said it is and I love it, though mine is not as posh as this one you have. Got mine from a mechanic had a new engine new transmission and new tires and quite a bit other things, 143, 000 original miles and I just paid a grand for so I think I got a bargain especially since I love it. I'm a grandma is my first truck. I'm still learning things about it as I learned some things from your video that just make me happy. The downsides yep they are there and I don't mind. Even the road noise makes me happy. Thank you for a very informative video, one that I saved for future reference.

    I will say, I have mismatched wipers on my '99 and the passenger-side one came from a Mini Cooper if I remember right, because it does follow that curve of the windshield. Correct size or not, it works perfectly and I will probably continue to use mismatched blades

And a third, with unfortunate wiring issues (Dad put in a makeshift fuse and forgot about it), a '94 Chevy W/T K1500 with a new 350 (originally a 4.3 truck), and new 4l60, also bigger rear end and actually a F-250 rear bumper.

    ZR2 Blazer Tech: #1. Your headlights are not installed on the lower sleeves and nylon washers fix all ur movement. #2.Silver Star Halogen bulbs are a must for night vision. #3. Your parking/fog light assy have broken parts. Amazon has em, got me a new pair for $7.99! No more rattle! #4. Your wiper arm assy is plastic should use oem style for curvature it helps alot! #5. Ebay has 4 NEW HIGH QUALITY slotted and drilled rotors with ceramic pads for $120.00! #6. Use crazy glue and baking soda to weld plastic on door panel broken parts. I installed RED LED BULBS in my dash gauges, heater lights and rear domes. Totally bright red way cool! I LOVE MY ZR2 as well as you do urs!

    Can you make a review video on your step on the back of your blazer?

    • @HubersRanch
      @HubersRanch  4 роки тому +1

      Sorry man I don't have the truck anymore, however it was the GoRhino Hitch Step made out of 3" steel tubing powder coated in black. Definitely worth it, not so much as a step since the stock Blazer isn't that high but as protection from backing into things or someone backing into you. I've had people back into me and hit the hitch step and instead of damaging the bumper the step takes the hit which IMO is much cheaper and easier to replace. It held up rather well, but like all mass produced powder coated pieces it will start too fail around the edges where the caps are as it is a hollow tube, there are plastic end-caps there. That is where it started to rust. I just used a rust-oleom style paint every year to keep it going and it was still on the truck when I sold it this year. I will absolutely get another one of those steps for the next truck I get, I'm just waiting to find the right one know that I moved to the US again.
      If you live in a rust area you will have to also keep an eye out on the bolt that holds it in place , there is the normal pin that goes through the trailer hitch and then it also has like a little plate and turn screw on the bottom to keep it from wobbeling up and down. Mine rusted in place after several years since I never used my hitch and I would have had to cut that bolt and plate off if I ever wanted to use the hitch again.
      I hope this helps.

      Huber's Ranch I see! Thanks a lot! The thing is that I live in Spain and i went to see a Blazer today in good condition but the pain work and body is a bit scratched since the previous owner used to take it off roading. The shop has 2 blazers, one that works and one that doesn’t work but has a lot of parts that work and said that if i paid €3000 he would give me the other blazer for free to use it for parts. Does it sound like a good deal?

    • @HubersRanch
      @HubersRanch  4 роки тому

      It really all depends on the km and the condition of the Blazers and of course what specs it has. LS / LT, 4 door / 2 Door etc. But in all If they are both bellow 200k km and four doors and in decent shape (paint can be buffed) I would say 3000€ seems like a decent price for both of them. You can always try to get him to like 2800€ or something :)

    • @WorldwideHypercars
      @WorldwideHypercars 4 роки тому +1

      Huber's Ranch Yes. They were both LT with full leather interior, heated seats, power windows, power sun roof, automatic gear box, the different 4x4 and 4x2 modes, power lumbar support, ac worked fine and both around 2001-2002. But i didn’t check the mileage unfortunately. Will request more info when i can. Did a test drive and had lots of power and was incredibly incredibly smooth. My parents drive the Porsche Macan S so i am used to a smooth ride, but the blazer was great in ride comfort.

      Well sounds good to me. Just ask what's broken with the 2nd one that it's not operable anymore, engine or transmission. Then you know what kind of major parts you have spare form the second one. Cause most expensive to replace would be the Engine or the Transmission if it where to go out ever. But yes they do run smooth :)

      You don't use "ain't " and "ight" isn't a word. Unlike the S10 Blazer which js based off the S10 Pickup truck, wich makes it a truck. Same as a tahoe and a suburban were trucks as they came from the silverado platform.
