I sleep in a tent in some small wood hidden out of the way on the edge of Bristol. Effectively homeless, but I've been doing this so long now it is more of a lifestyle choice. Thankfully, I've not been too badly effected by all this, because I started getting ready for isolation back in Jan. I got myself a solar panel and portable power station, so plenty of power as well as food for now. Hope everyone stays safe.

It's a disgrace that we are not being advised to wear masks while out. Even a DIY cloth mask is effective against droplet infection. The only reason they are telling us we dont need to wear masks, is because they are in short supply. That might be the case, but they should not be giving us false information. Masks do work - even DIY masks. They do reduce the chance of you breathing in an infected droplet, they reduce your hand to face contact and they certainly protect those around you from your spray.

Or... just few sheets of (dried) non perfume wet baby wipes are more easy to use tbh, but you have to dry it first, wet one is not good for your lungs. So, take 2 or 3 sheets, just screecth it and cut it in the edges for your ears. Done. (Edit: typo. I'm sleepy)

Please everyone understand what the term “household” means. It is not the same as “family”. People in the same household means people living in the same residence. DO NOT visit relatives in another household or let them visit you. This seems to be such a common misunderstanding. Being related to someone will not stop them infecting you or you infecting them

If you are not careful to not infect or to not be infected by members of your own immediate household during this lock down, you won't be flattening the curve, only delaying it slightly. So you should be following social distancing and vigilant cleanliness even in your own household and always wear a mask except when eating and maybe sleeping. Sounds extreme, but extreme measures will slow this down faster than just having a 3 week staycation and spreading the disease in the household...

It's human nature not to care about "the people." We sort of care about one another but not really. I heard about that young girl with no health problems who died from the virus the other day. I know it's tragic but ultimately I don't care. I didn't know she even existed until she didn't exist anymore. She's not my friend, my lover or a family member. I don't rely on her in any way. I didn't know her. It's irrelevant to me. I don't care.
Politicians think that way too. They do their best to reduce the number of deaths because that's the right thing to do. They may even become depressed upon hearing that 250 people died from the virus today, but they're just statistics. They don't care about the individuals even though they understand it's a tragedy.
We care when it's a friend, a relative or a lover who dies. Or someone we rely on. Only when it affects us personally do we care.

The picture at the start of this video is horrifying however, they cut down on the busses because there was so few passengers since the outbreak, and that ended up with crowds now instead. No excuses for that, hope not too many got infected.
But the rightwing crowd is surely doing all in their power to try give a very flawed picture of Sweden. The facts are we have quite alot of changes in how we live and do things here, we just dont have lockdowns but rather we are told to take responsibility.

Not that he doesn't deserve it after a lifetime of hard work, but he doesn't have a young family to feed. You all seem to forget that lives are also lost when there is a great economic recession. There may come a time when the virus is the least of your worries. Money is needed to sustain life, including the health care system. Many people will die due to poverty like we haven't seen in the West since the end of the Second World War. You should worry about a lot more than the virus. Here in Spain 9,444 medical staff are known to have contracted the virus, putting a huge stress on the hospital system. There are being asked to continue working, or return as soon as possible if they are suffering symptoms. These people are heroes. Despite the government insisting they have everything they need, many are saying they have no protective equipment.

I live in Denmark and our Swedish neighbour decided to go for the herd immunity. We are on lockdown but they can keep coming to our country, many living in Malmö work in Copenhagen in hospitals, old folks homes etc and that is very frightening. Denmark should forbid Swedes to enter the country. So far Sweden does not have many cases or deaths but I expect those numbers to rise very quickly very soon.
Also, on the news, they said Germany tested 500.000 people a week, not 160.000 ...

I am in the republic of Ireland and for a while I was worried that our sacrifices in the south would be for nothing because the virus doesn't respect a boundary between the UK and Ireland (it's not alone). But luckily The UK and Ireland are in tandem now with same measures.

    • @sandyb1184
      @sandyb1184 4 роки тому +3

Unfortunately, while not a cure, as there is no cure for this, ventilators are the only treatment in critical cases. Other health care professionals can be trained to monitor patients on a ventilator, while the experts set them up and are freed up to set up more. There are no other treatments, ventilators are the only thing that can mean the difference between life and death, and we don't have enough. Veterinarians have experience with ventilators, and other medical professionals in other specialties could learn fast. Medcram on youtube is a respirologist who has instructional videos for healthcare workers on how to ventilate patients. In extreme situations, I would rather have a newly educated healthcare worker monitor my ventilator than be told to just die instead because the treatment I need doesn't have an experienced professional manning it 24/7. Remember always, the alternative is certain death in critical cases. The more ventilators we can set up and get operational, even at less than optimal standards, the more lives will be saved!

George Gao, director-general of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) also says that Europe and USA's biggest mistake is not wearing masks.
Quote: The big mistake in the U.S. and Europe, in my opinion, is that people aren’t wearing masks. This virus is transmitted by droplets and close contact. Droplets play a very important role-you’ve got to wear a mask, because when you speak, there are always droplets coming out of your mouth. Many people have asymptomatic or presymptomatic infections. If they are wearing face masks, it can prevent droplets that carry the virus from escaping and infecting others.

    • @somosknow1

I managed to sneak into Walmart during old people's hours with mother.(Mother is old people, I help shop load/unload car)
That was one of my more pleasant shopping experiences ever, all the social distancing and people avoiding each other, not bunching up in the aisles, I even told mother at one point. "I kind of like pandemic levels of population, I can get used to this.
Then in the checkout line, people started to bunch up and I was becoming frustrated because the bunching was getting closer to me.
I only originally told the person behind me where they need to stand, and then once in a while, I would look behind me to the old guy seeming more and more worried as people bunched up behind him and each other and a growing worried look on his face every time I looked over when I finally took more control of the situation guy looked like he was in full silent panic mode.
I had to take control of a bunch of old people and direct them like car traffic with their shopping carts to separate them and usher them into aisles, I became a king of the scared and huddled masses, and it shocked me at first when I looked at them and told them what to do, a sign of relief would come over their faces, people were thanking me.
They just wanted someone to tell them what to do, I felt good afterward.

Keep gathered and moving around shopping etc. So new cases will rise soon.

Sorry but that is the only way because try as you may, there will always be some element of society who is either, (A) rebellious, putting two fingers up to the government or (B) they are to Stupid to comprehend the severity of what is happening in the world! Sweden does need to 'up it's game' and some may say 'Mind your business' but what happens when rest of Europe tries hard and pays for it in blood, to get their country back to some form of normality only for Sweden, which would by then be a devastated country full of Covid-19 infected people living just over the border from other responsible countries to 're-seed the virus back to these other countries? No this is a WORLD-WIDE event and the sooner ALL countries realise this, and learn to work together on this issue, to think of all of Humanity and mankind, as a ONE WORLD issue, not a local national one, and to pool all the best and the brightest in our respective countries, into one cohesive joint attack force, well, then the sooner we will ALL defeat this! so where did you get numbers concerning the severity of the cases in germany to make the claim that the serious/critical numbers were under reported, if those numbers don't exist at all, because cases are not reported by severity but only as a total number? btw: refrain from any kind of answer if it does not include a link to a trustworthy website that lists cases by severity .. i already know that i will not see any answer from you.. at least none with a link to prove your claim..
