I believe this is the most beautiful ride you've done in New Zealand. I was surprised not to see any cyclists on the Summit Road. A perfect bike road, if it was (or is it "were"?) anywhere in Europe, it would be crawling with bikes. From a long retired cyclist and loyal fan.
Wonderful drive, the road is mostly built on the ridge of the peninsula or along the coast, offerings great views to the ocean on both sides.
