You don't have to feel like you're letting us down! We totally understand that shit happens sometimes. I'm, and I think everyone else who are watching you also are just happy videos are being uploaded, whether they're late or not.
I have really bad social anxiety and I have a job interview coming up, so watching your video and listening to your point about failing spectacularly and going down swinging came at a right time. It's helping to curb the anxiety a bit to keep telling myself those things. :)
My mom once started crying and it was amazing just how quickly that got results, even better than getting angry and threatening to change companies. But they were real tears because of how frustrated she was, she's not someone who can cry on command.
Omg, that really, really sucks, but you can't let that discourage you! As Kat said, this is an obstacle that you just have to overcome, don't ever give up! Come the 30th of november, you'll be so happy that you didn't give up.
THANK YOU! I was going to quit NaNo WriMo because I feel that work takes most of my time but after watching this I no feel even more determined to pursue it! Even if I failed at least I didn't give up! I wanna wish you Good Luck!!! I hope everything will run smoothly once your internet connection is fixed!
We have a family tradition on the Friday of October half term and that fell on November 1st this year and then I have school in the way other days and therefore h/w and you are literally the only thing keeping me from backing out.
I know its kinda after the fact, but this was such a great video for me to watch. I loved what you said about overcoming those nasty obstacles while trying to write. That's the fight I've been dealing with trying to keep up with my book and classes and my social life. I needed to hear that pep talk. So thanks!
I couldn't do NaNoWriMo this year, but I still had an obstacle. My Dog died this morning and feel very lost right now, had her since I was 4. Trying to overcome it but it really sucks and it rained to day. Watching your energy is uplifting.
I started at midnight on November 1st and now that Day 2's almost over, I've written 15,030 and am aiming for 20,000 (at least!) tomorrow! :D Good luck to everyone else and thank you for all you're doing for us anyway, Kat :)
thanks for the video Kat. im writing a script lately for my master degree n things have not been going well. But your positive video has encouraged me not to give up. it help lots. just wanna let you know my appreciation. Good luck on all the writers out there. Dont be discourage. :)
I'm not doing NaNo this year (haven't in a while), but I do have 3 screenplays to work on for school due at the beginning of December, so it kind of feels like I'm doing the writing with all of you. Good luck with the internets, and the novel!
Awe, You'll be okay, Kat. You're not the only one who thought about quitting. I did myself this week. Lost my kitty and it really tore me up because she was my writing and cuddle buddy. I was taking it really hard and I have to clean out my room now which is full of fur. But some of the people on the forums were really sweet and encouraged me to keep going so here I am! This is my fist attempt at video blogging, inspired by you, actually. So, good luck and have a coffee. With extra chocolate ^^
your hair looks sooooooo great like this, it totally fits you! i wish you didnt have to go back to brown for work, but you're gorgeous regardless. good luck with nanowrimo!!!
I wish I was not so busy. I want to take part in NaNo. I was thinking about writing without the extreme intensity of word count daily. Good luck Kat! You're amazing!
I know how you feel about you computer's had drive getting corrupted. It happend to my computer once, when I was away and my father just decided to re-install it. I lost one almost finished novel and a bunch of great novel ideas. And then I was on a school trip for the first two days of NaNoWriMo. I try to write like 2000 words a day, but I'm still 3239 words behind schedule. But you know what? Your video was so motivating! I just need 3 hours of sleep now and then I'm starting to write again!
oh thank you! The understanding. *tears* I've been really sick for about a week now with occasional bouts of feeling like I'm dying and about 6 hours before I was going to start writing my laptop's DC port broke and I couldn't charge it. Fortunately, I have an amazing brother who fixed my woes. Still,it's only the day 3 and even though I've just over 7,000 words, I keep getting interrupted. Thankfully, I made Oct. my planning month and everything is in a notebook including character sketches. :)
wow you have been through a lot, Kat! I totally understand!! Right now my laptop is having the biggest heartattack that even opening word puts it through 10 minutes of spazzing which is making writing incredibly difficult and i'm not at all where i want to be :( so i'm having to write with another laptop that i hate and it sucks and it's just urgh!!!!!! but i shall keep persevering just like you!!!
It's wired that my internet went out at the same time as yours, I'm currently at uni using their wifi.. The one hour walk here is so worth it because it means I can speak to NaNoWrMo-ers online.. I know exactly how you feel :)
Has anyone ever told you, you are pretty much a younger version of Lilly from How I Met Your Mother? Your energy is very sweet and infectious. I'm glad I found your channel in time for Nanowrimo!
I pretty much only had an hour to write and didn't meet my goal by a long shot, and now I'm kinda depressed hearing how good everyone is doing and one person had already won and then some!
This is the first year that I'm not well on top of my word count at the start of the month. So far I'm only on par with the minimum. Which makes me feel good for now but comes with a sense of dread of what may yet come to pass.
At the end of this month, I can't wait to say "I wrote a novel". It's something that I've always wanted to do but never got around to it. Even if it's only going to be a first draft, I really hope I can look back on it and feel proud.
I'd written a first draft for a story that took me about a year to write, and I was almost finished editing when my computer crashed. So I thought that I'd join NaNoWriMo to try and get it written up again on my new laptop so I can finish this thing before Christmas!
Funny thing is I'm not writing for Nanowrimo, but still writing and lately (like, since yesterday =X) it's been dificult. I thought on postpone doing it but, know what? You gave me quite a push on it. Going to write. Right now. Oh, yeah!
Aw man I know that must be hard! But hey, at least you still have your writing. Writing can either be therapedic or tear-your-hair-out-madness, or both! Stick in there and make sure to put your dog in your acknowledgments.
Sorry about your internet :( But I hope Nanowrimo will be kind to you! I personally have just finished my writing for day 2 and my totalt wordcount is 21024 words! Almost halfway there, and only 2 days into the event!
I'm trying to write in a style I am unfamiliar with (first person, I usually write in third person) and I have writer's block and its day 2 and I only have 628 words and gah! frustrating!!
My obstetrical comes on the ninth when I decided that I was moving countries from Wellington to Melbourne. However four hours on a plane: My theory is I can write then. Well some of the time.
I've written just under 600 words for NaNo. I've also written over 2000 words of world building for a story that I'm not supposed to be working on. OH MY GOD. I AM SO OFF TOPIC.
You are such an encouraging and wonderful person! I'm so glad I know you. :)
"No. They don't. Because that book would suck." This made me giggle.
Don't let the book about your life suck.
I first found your channel during last year's NaNoWriMo. These videos are one of many things that make me feel nostalgic about those days.
You don't have to feel like you're letting us down! We totally understand that shit happens sometimes. I'm, and I think everyone else who are watching you also are just happy videos are being uploaded, whether they're late or not.

COMCAST IS THE WORST. I'm glad you didn't give up on NaNoWriMo despite all of the obstacles. Good luck on reaching 50k!
thanks for the video Kat. im writing a script lately for my master degree n things have not been going well. But your positive video has encouraged me not to give up. it help lots. just wanna let you know my appreciation. Good luck on all the writers out there. Dont be discourage. :)

See, this is why I love you, Kat. Your videos make me happy and are so motivating!

This is my first year of NaNoWriMo and I'm so excited! :D And then I found you and it's going to be extra fun! Yayyyyy!
i got really overwhelmed and depressed last night too, but I'm feeling a bit better today. Thanks Kat! :D
your hair looks sooooooo great like this, it totally fits you! i wish you didnt have to go back to brown for work, but you're gorgeous regardless. good luck with nanowrimo!!!
It's okay, we understand! Shit happens that we don't and can't foresee..! I love your wrimo vlogs - they're helping me with my first ever wrimo!
I wish I was not so busy. I want to take part in NaNo. I was thinking about writing without the extreme intensity of word count daily. Good luck Kat! You're amazing!
what a great, inspirational video Kat! and your hair looks really pretty today! ;) good luck on your novel!
I was trying to stop writing for the night, but your videos keep inspiring me to keep going...
ahh!! i kind of like your hair a little faded like this better than the intense teal/green it's so cool

This is my forts year doing nanowrimo and I'm loving it so far I'm currently 3 days ahead on my word goal. I know that enthusiasm might falter....
It's wired that my internet went out at the same time as yours, I'm currently at uni using their wifi.. The one hour walk here is so worth it because it means I can speak to NaNoWrMo-ers online.. I know exactly how you feel :)

Kat, I just want to say I love you. You have been such an inspiration. Fighting ~!
My whole outline that I spent a week on...totally changed it and now I'm winging it :)
At the end of this month, I can't wait to say "I wrote a novel". It's something that I've always wanted to do but never got around to it. Even if it's only going to be a first draft, I really hope I can look back on it and feel proud.
Good luck! I participated last year and won but I've got too much to worry about this year and can't participate.
FINALLY NANOWRIMO VLOGS ARE UP :D
I'm overwhelmed to but am trying to catch up on my nanowrimo writing so far so good.
I wish you the best in writing your story I know it will be awesome!
I'd written a first draft for a story that took me about a year to write, and I was almost finished editing when my computer crashed. So I thought that I'd join NaNoWriMo to try and get it written up again on my new laptop so I can finish this thing before Christmas!
Do you know when a updated bookshelf tour could come our way? Just an estimate... I'm assuming that it won't be this month because of nanowrimo....
Wow that is intense! Kudos for pushing through though, it will be worth it!
I'm glad you didn't back out! You can do this. Love the vid.
Love your hair and make up!
I love how your voice gets really soulful when you start talking deep lol
You are really awesome :) I'm glad you aren't giving up on NaNoWriMo. (And I love your videos, by the way...)
Funny thing is I'm not writing for Nanowrimo, but still writing and lately (like, since yesterday =X) it's been dificult. I thought on postpone doing it but, know what? You gave me quite a push on it.
Going to write. Right now. Oh, yeah!
Yeah, I'm so pumpedddd! Also, I'm sorry that you don't have internet for a week. Not cool, universe. Not cool.
Wow I would be so excited if I got 100 comments. Kat your awesome. Your one of my favorite people her on UA-cam. Keep Up the good work.
wow, you look gorgeous!
Brilliant video Kat. Really, truly great.
Love that green hair!
Finally NaNoWriMo vlog! This is my first year participating and just hit 6k :)
I wanted to take part this year sooo bad, but my AP classes in school enjoy taking up my time all too much :(
geez girl you're not only smart, but you're so beautiful! love your hair.
Aw man I know that must be hard! But hey, at least you still have your writing. Writing can either be therapedic or tear-your-hair-out-madness, or both! Stick in there and make sure to put your dog in your acknowledgments.
Poor Kat. Good on you for still doing Nano though, very encouraging! :)
I haven't even started my novel for NaNo yet. I have a serious case of procrastination. I should start later..maybe tomorrow.
Are you going to do your October wrap up?
I won't do nanowrimo this year as I have enough on my plate already..but maybe I do napawrimo...my final paper could use a kickstart :).
The same thing happened to me! I lost over 2/3 of my camp NanoWrimo novel I wrote in July.
You've inspired me to write my first novel! :) I can't do NaNoWriMo unfortunately because exams :( But I'm starting in december!
google doc is awesome. you can write from any computer and it auto saves as you write.
Whoooo, first year doing NaNoWriMo. LET'S DO THIS
YOU LOOKED SO PRETTY IN THIS VIDEO
That's the spirit! Don't let the suck defeat you. Awesome things are born from adversity
What wonderful hair!
How long does it take you to edit your videos and what software do you use?
Sorry about your internet :( But I hope Nanowrimo will be kind to you!
I personally have just finished my writing for day 2 and my totalt wordcount is 21024 words! Almost halfway there, and only 2 days into the event!
What about saving it on a flash drive?
I'm trying to write in a style I am unfamiliar with (first person, I usually write in third person) and I have writer's block and its day 2 and I only have 628 words and gah! frustrating!!
So much love for you.... You are AWESOME!
siiii! thats why I started to see her videos
This is my first year doing it and I'm at a little over 5,000 words right now! :)
5,001 words at 2am GMT this morning and now about to use my the rest of today effectively and get ahead. :D
KAT YOU LOOK LIKE AN ANIME CHARACTER. BRAVO.
I've always thought Willow from Buffy but since they are both Alyson Hannigan I'm gonna agree.
Her eyes... they are memorizing. O.O
You're so inspirational Kat! :D
Is Nanowrimo only November? Guess I'm too late. Wish I had known about this :/
***** Oh, thank you! I didn't know about that :D
BRING BACK THE CANDY GAME! I earned you one these last two days!
Just watched an ad of David Tennant before this video - made my day! xD
When are you going to talk more about Korean?
This video gave me the drive to start NaNoWriMo...I'll be it a day late but it's still something :D
Your hair looks soooo cool :0)
I wanna do NaNoWriMo but if I do I'll try to speed through and I'm not good with pressure and time limits
Good luck with NaNoWriMo, Kat :D
For like the first full minute of that video, all I did was stare at your books and point out the ones I own :)
I think she already read that book. I bought the book because I saw it in one of her videos. : )
You can do it Girl!!
How do you enter NaNoWriMo?
Thanks, I'll try my best!
My obstetrical comes on the ninth when I decided that I was moving countries from Wellington to Melbourne. However four hours on a plane: My theory is I can write then. Well some of the time.
GO KATY!!!
Yep, I'm really behind though, like 2000 words. What is your NaNo username?
I just started NaNoWriMo.... What am I getting myself into O.O
I've written just under 600 words for NaNo. I've also written over 2000 words of world building for a story that I'm not supposed to be working on. OH MY GOD. I AM SO OFF TOPIC.
I'm sorry you don't have internet right now but that may be a good thing. You'll get ahead of all of us. It'll be okay.
You're doing good Kat. You're battling on! =D
