Timing in PaRappa the Rapper is very weird. When you think you timed the buttons perfectly, the game doesn't think so.
It’s kinda weird. The thing is, you gotta time it to the music, not when the little Parappa goes over the notes.
These PS1 games from the 90s sound so weird there’s no echoing even their later ports

i never understood if the rain in stage 5 was broken in the ps4 version, the rain didn't cover the whole screen
Lazy to adapt the game, it also seems that it is an emulated version with Texture Packs
PSP version is the best, despite parappa's voice quality and 4k graphics, it is the least broken and plus, it's easy to get it

Unfortunately, the gameplay of this game didn't age well, rhythm games evolved and PaRappa was left behind, and worse, only 6 songs.
This is why things like characters, charisma, world building, graphics, voice acting, songs and other stuff, are still important, the reason PaRappa is still remembered is thanks to the presentation, Sony should have kept the franchise going and improved the gameplay.
If this game kept its original style and made a new sequel in today’s standards, I don’t think it would sell well since most rap today is about sex and shit.

Psp version is probably the best version it has a 4 player versus mode (its not like parrapa 2 where you take turns playing notes better than your opponent its just playing the level seeing who can get the higest score) and it has remixes of songs you can get (i think the ps4 version has them but ive never played it and there is no 4 player in it) but the versus carries the reason i think its the best way to play

i emulated the ps1 and psp version and oh boy.they are so difficult ive got the feeling there is a huge input lag because i swear i press the button right in time. i also played the demo of ps4. can anyone tell me if the remaster is also so difficult? because i bought parappa 2 for ps4 digital and it worked perfect. but the emulated versions are so different. i think the psp version is even harder than the ps2

I think its because of the latency being weird.
I tried the game on both PS1 and emulated, I dislike the remastered version of the game for the reason of the delay. But when you play on the original console it runs much much better!

2017 the was a remaster as a phisical disc. now you can buy it in the ps4 store for 15 dollars and parrapa 2 is also there but not as a remaster for 10 dollars. i bought 2 and can say it definitly plays better than 1 because its easier and has no input lag

This is also backwards compatible for any ps3 model
Not every PS3, some fat models CNA handle the PS1 edition, but in posterior models you can only play it in digital.

La version de Ps4 es un "remaster"/rescalado en HD de la versión de PSP
lo del audio lo más probable es que fue porque intentaron re-escalar la música de la version de PSP y les salió mal o que por motivos desconocidos decidieron agarrar versiones antiguas y en mala calidad.
Me decanto más por la primera posibilidad que por la segunda, ya que la primera suena más razonable.
