When you shut the door, the louvres in the fan opening, blew open as the air compressed inside... probably why one would have to slam the door... great work... faithfully watching.
A few of us were brainstorming the other night, and you have basically built exactly what we thought up. Looking forward to the electronics video showing the hardware installed to control and harvest the solar array.
That's awesome! Month or two of work yet before that's all done but once it is, we'll post a video with ALL the details. We want to help the planet do the same thing. One guy can't build all these things.
Amazing Game Changer for any remote community. You will be very busy…This is the model to follow in the future. Love it and I will be ordering those solar panel connections. Wanting to put all our solar generating on a 40 container. Love that you are in Saskatchewan ✌🏼Great innovative work. Thanks for sharing!
I currently am a solar professional and just wanted to share some info! Tesla powerwall 3 battery have 180amp cutoff and 11.5kwh of storage with a built in inverter so you don’t need massive bulky inverters only batteries!! They work well with qcell panels. In the future m I’d like to start a non profit using used solar panels from projects that renew their panels and build container units like this for developing third world countries and I find it awesome to see you already building them albeit for clients I still like seeing your problem solving process! Thank you for posting these videos and maybe one day I’ll be able to see your build in person
Coat your containers with new IR reflecting paint to lower cooling costs and improve your efficiency. You can make marine grade IR reflecting paint yourself.
Would be cool if you fitted starlink or something on top to provide the community with some internet, and if starlink allowed to have multiple of those dishes. Of course this depends on how many are in the community and how much you'd have to split the connection but a neat idea! I really love what you've done this could be a saving grace for some isolated smaller community's to have their own power grid with emergency backup from those diesels! Amazing work too the whole build looks very neat!
Its a good thing this maniac explained how many redundancies there are. Everything has redundancy, and then the needed to explain that its there for redunancy, or for redundancial purposes. But it will work forever, given all the redundancies.
I like solar projects like this since they make the best use of funds. If you compare 75 residential roof top projects and the tax money used they mostly benefit the Solar companies installing them. Projects like this help the entire community. It’s my opinion tha residential roof top solar should be funded by the homeowners and not the taxpayers. Divert the money to commercial projects with batteries that could lower the cost for everyone.
I agree that the future of the power transmission lines are for homes to connect to municipal battery banks. Homes can have homeowner-funded solar setups with grid tied inverters. In Canada, the word battery makes people shiver. Once or twice a winter we have to buy new batteries for our equipment. They don't last in the cold and houses shouldn't have huge fire hazards inside their mech rooms or garages. The way they train our firefighters to extinguish battery fires is to "let it burn".
Our main business is sales / rentals of shipping containers. Mods are a small part. Highly customized ones like this almost always lose money so we need to ensure we are developing products along the way that we can sell in the future.
Have you considered using "Pioneer® 9,000 BTU 115V Under-Bench RV Heat Pump Air Conditioner" it sits on the floor. You just need to put holes in the floor for air in and out and dehumidified condensate to drip out.
Where can I find this adjustable kit mentioned at 3:45? I've been working on building my own for my shipping container using your CSM roof brackets and UniStrut but if you have a kit that could save me some time, that would be fantastic.
Just a suggestion it you have overheating issue on the Genset you should hard duct the intake to the radiator the outlet air will rat race around the inside of the container and get sucked back into the intake side of radiator if there is a gap again also double check cfm requirements on radiator those louvres look very restrictive not the normal ones you would find on a generator housing from CAT or Cummings
One thing we didn't really show much is we have sections of the wood floor removed around the sides of the containment pans and at the back so there's more air movement but this is great info about air not actually escaping. We didn't know what the rads would look like until way after the doors were modified. I know what you mean and the client might tin bash a shroud around the rad yet to come up to the door. The net free air was calculated and the louvers are good. Those are pretty small units compared to the Cummins and Cat engines.
If you have the diesels run in the Winter as it will probably happen, why not use their waste heat for heating the community? So having somehtinglike a heatexchanger with extra outlets for a seperate heating/cooling exit.
Great work, looks a really neat job you've done. Looking forward to seeing the all the internal hardware/electronics installed! Quick question - what gloves do you wear?
Great project but it would be great to see an alternative to the spray foam, since it's not really environmentally friendly, not really recyclable and hard to separate at the end oft lifetime.
just float an idea to you. love the heat pump idea but there is a cheaper way and save some energy. use the excess heat from the gen sets for heating. its a waste from the system anyway. why not use every Btu/Watt ?
Not a bad build. Only thing I can see and suggest is loose the plywood on the floor. Wood eventuall rots and burns when in situations like this. Cement sheet is strong and fire proof. Genny rooms, don't be affraid to have a fire systems like CO2 deluge or even just fire-fighting ports.
Backyard genius - "Who do I see about taking my shipping container idea/invention and making a fully functioning high quality prototype?" UA-cam - "There's a guy in Canada"
Glad to see your channel pass the 200k subs, well deserved. Do you offer a service that evaluates new shipping container-related ideas and, if they show promise, collaborate on prototype creation?
I loved your work! Every time I watch your videos I am amazed by the new innovative ideas you have. I would like to know if you have sales for Mexico? To receive a quote, what email do you have? Congratulations for all this wonderful work!
I criticized a smaller similar setup in the Victron youtube channel. I still think a fuel generator in such product is not optimal. if a customer really needs one, generator is best as a separate, stand-alone system or likely they already have one.
If that container is going to be creating a ton of heat, for a remote site wouldnt it be an idea to scavange as much of that heat as possible for hot water even just to heat the buildings around it? I have no idea where this is going to be placed, it could be placed in the middle of nowhere. Then my musing is a stupid idea and ignore it.
I expect you’ve put in a security setup also, considering this would be “critical infrastructure” for the community. Don’t explain it on video. But motion cameras and a monitoring service in event of a motion inside and/or heartbeat 💓 uplink is lost
You'd be a great statistician. $50 per ____?? Currently costs the government over $7/kWh to service the community and they have to sell the power for $0.15/kWh
Connecting the POWER to the internet seems like a great idea. Almost as good of an idea as connecting the internet to the steering, breaks and acceleration on a vehicle. What could go wrong? People are all sweet, law abiding folks.....

When you need a pressure relief valve in order to simply close your door, you know the building is tight. I wish my house did that. 😂
@@TheContainerGuyTV me too :-)
I need one.

Our kit is so close to being available! Just waiting on final pricing from vendors. It's extremely refined. Had 2 engineers on it for ~2 months

Every time I watch your videos I'm amazed at the new innovative ideas you have. Congrats on all your successes now and in the future!
Thank you! Cheers!

Just need Satellite Down link station right next to it...
Make a ladder that bolts onto the strut for roof top access. Make some fold up railing from strut so you have an observation deck on top.
Just to note a Mi26 helicopter has the lift capacity for this to move to really remote areas
I use two of the AC Infinity fans. They are awesome. The app is very well done too. Good choice.
Sweet freak build bro.
Your really stepping it up.
Congratulations. 👏🏻🥳👏🏻

Good point about fire. The battery tech should improve as well.
It seems awkward to ask but it would be nice to share your revenue and profit margin from the projects. Thumbs up

Nice planning, just curious the reason you pick 5G, is it because the data stream or you want to reduce the latency?
Mount that thing on a container trailer like they use at the ports and it will truly be mobile and portable. Weld in the lug blocks to your skid.
Awesome set up, Do you sell the solar frame kit for the exterior? Do you have a link handy?

im not an expert but wouldnt heat rise from the generators? making the floor vents useless?

These kinds of builds are usually for temporary and/or emergency power needs, having the redundancy of a diesel generator is always appreciated.
So can i get this for my house
Looks like we're designing one right now for a home in the mountains. Solar / wind / generator backup with a big battery bank.
Why don’t you allow customers order online and respond to emails or phone calls?

A lot of power grids run some sort of networking setup for remote management and monitoring, as well as integrate safeguards to avoid easy hacking.
under 1000volts is not actually highvoltage
Would you lick 15-30 amps of 600v? 😝
