Hi, I follow this content with very much interest. My thesis in mechanical engineering, almost 10 years ago studied the feasibility of a containerized solution using solar panels, battery packs and power electronics to create a standalone zero-emission power generator. The design I proposed had something very similar to drawer slides to deploy the solar panels, yet keep them within the container during transport. I very much enjoy seeing someone bringing similar concept to life. As of today I work on contaierized solutions which house Hydrogen Fuel Cells to generate electrical power. The flexilbility of the container platform it is so unmatched! Good luck on your next projects.

For some reason that coffee tasted so good. Brewed in the cold fresh air or something

I got the same Pecron model along with 2 battery set up and am completely satisfied (so far) with it. It’s reasonably priced because it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles, which I don’t want or need.

Love the videos and containers , your comment on engineers clicked the memory banks . I converted a bus to a motorhome years back and have through the years done some building and mechanics . My greatest beef with engineers is no hands on experience. They can design something but, someone has to be able to build it and service it. It is nice to have a pipe chase , they can help service plumbing and keep water damage to a minimum if something happens. The same can be said of wire chases to keep wires from wear and tear. You also need space for tools. ( rather than having to purchase specialty tools -- necessary to change the water pump on one of Chevy's cars ). When I was converting the bus, an article in Motor Home Mag. spoke of elbow and shoulder . If the mechanic was working on X , anything within the distance of elbow and shoulder was likely the next thing needing service. those would be the items likely pushed or hit by an elbow or shoulder. Two of the best cars I saw or had was the Saab slope back. ( they stopped importing to the US in '73 because of 5 mph bumper laws ) That Saab had a water pump that sat to the side of the engine alone. It could be changed in minutes and you didn't have to tear the fan and radiator out of the car. The other car was the Toyota Corolla when it was first imported . Toyota made it easy to be worked on by the owner because they didn't yet have the support staff and parts warehouses in the US. Reminded of a third. Honda Civic. Emissions -- They redesigned the engine to meet emission standards. The US added catalytic converts and a whole bunch else. Sorry to run on but, I think that engineers should get hands on to see that their project can be done. ( now I'll watch the rest of your experiment with this battery pack . All the best, Hal

Saw this on Canadian Prepper and you mentioned the transport wind problem. So I was thinking that maybe a verticle piece of metal that is connected at that corner of the panels as a wind shield. Only the piece of metal is on like a kind of hinge that can latch when the poratble power is not in transit and then can be unlatched and swung into wind shield position and the same latch engages to hold the wind shield in position. That verticle piece of metal at its top and bottom are on a hinge like you would find on a refrigerator door.

The E1500LFP is badass. You should get the expansion EP2000 batteries.
The new E3600LFP will be released later this month with a 3KVA inverter.

You can feed in 225 kW dc of solar if you have 6 three phase Sol-Ark inverters. I know gear is expensive; 450 seems steep, however.

$450K sounds pretty close to Military Contractor Pricing... $100.00 Screw Drivers and $200.00 Hammers. Need a little more information on the estimated longevity of the giant battery box.

Based on experience, it sounds about right if you factor in the cost of engineering development of such solution and the current price of power electronics (still suffering from partial supply chain shortages). Of course if you set up agreement with suppliers for larger volumes of batteries and standardize the solution into a product the price drops considerably. Just for your reference 100 kWh of batteries in a properly rated enclosure with switchgear is approximately 60.000 dollars.

Fires are grouped into classes which depend on the material or substance that is present.
Class A - Fires involving ordinary combustibles such as paper, wood, cloth, rubber, or plastics.
Class B - Fires involving flammable liquids, gases, oil, paints, or lacquer.
Class C - Fires involving energized (live) electrical equipment such as motors, appliances, or power tools.
Class D - Fires involving combustible metals such as magnesium, titanium, sodium, and potassium.
Class K - Fires involving combustible cooking oils, or fats in cooking appliances.

They are Monoammonium phosphate / ABC Dry Chemical fire extinguishers.
Water would not be wise in Canada given it'd be an ice cube half the year on all our equipment. Fighting a battery fire with a gallon of water would be comical 😂
