As scary as the stories were, your hike back out was even scarier! Thanks for the Sunday night stories, they were certainly chilling for the folks involved.
I worry about you when you tell a story outside in a dark forest and then have to walk back out to your truck, I couldn't do that. I always enjoy your stories. Thank you Chris.
Chris, you are like the United States Postal Service of storytellers. Through rain, sleet, snow and ice you will deliver the story! let's hope those Vikings can be victorious tonight! It's going to be a close game!
Yup, Juanita, this Juanita is right there with you about that! Both sitting in the sheer darkness telling scary encounters, then hiking out in sheer darkness!
Hope everyone here had wonderful holidays last year🎉🎉 May 2025 be a wonderful year for all of us!!! Thank you, Chris, for all the encounters you share.
I like how Chris blows out and watches his breath after he sips his beer. No matter how old we get, we still do that like we are still surprised that our breath turns to a frozen mist. I don't know, I found it funny. Thanks for entertaining us Mr. Chris! Happy New Year!
Fantastic Chris, just wanted to thank you for having a quality channel, beig a real one and not a lazy AI text to speech low effort thing, just quality content every single time I click on a video. Happy New Year Brother, stay safe out there. All the best in 2025.
@@czgator9000That walk back sure suits the storytelling! When I was a kid my Dad taught me by having me take short walks into the dark shrubs then turn and walk back to him so that I shouldn’t be afraid walking at night as it was the same place as it was during the day just dark….. but I’m still a bit of a chicken about that! 😂😂😂 sorry Dad. Miss you and all your wise words🥹 29 years ago since you left this earth. I’m still trying to leave this Earth a better place than I found it. I wish I knew if you think I’m doing an ok job at it.
@patroberts I'm sure you're doing a good job! We often don't even know half of the good things we've done. 🙂 I lost my my mom 25 years ago, my dad 45... and it all seems like yesterday sometimes... 🫠
Sometimes my brain is weird. After you described the elk being chased, my thought was "Sasquatch gotta eat! If it didn't have to eat, that would be sus-quatch". I think I might need that beer.

Chris, thank you for the great stories. The woods look totally different and scary when it's dark outside. Getting to your vehicle is like seeing a best friend.
Hi Chris thanks for your stories they were great, l was scared when you were hiking out of there so glad you made it out safe, stay safe out there and lots of love from West Virginia ❤️🙂
I was in Oregon, 5 miles south of Bend, about 12 years ago. I heard a scream/yell just before the sun came up. Your stories remind me of that. I would describe it as the sound of grinding metal, sort of like the German tanks in Saving Private Ryan. I thought that's what I was hearing, but realized after a minute it sounded too organic, animal like.
I’m 63 now and only camp with a camper on the back of my F250. From my teens until my late 30s I just slapped a sleeping bag on the ground in the foothills of Mt. Rainer and slept under the stars. Only one time had a UFO hovering about in the backwoods. Watched for an hour. Nothing happened. It eventually left. But in 2013, something was loping around making a helluva noise outside my camper. I’ve since given up going to the Cascade mts. Rather sit by my fire in my cabin now. Great listening to these encounters being shared.
I live in Oregon and have camped near many of these locations referenced over the years...didn't consider Big foot to be more than folklore ....today I am not so sure of my bravery this season?.yet I am wonderfully, twisted curious! hahaha
I've spent a lot of time up around Four Mile Lake and Lake of the Woods. Beautiful area. Four Mile Lake sits at the base of Mt McLoughlin. The dirt road into Four Mile Lake is six miles long. We used to build snow caves in the winter and sleep in them. This was just off the dirt road a little ways. I've hiked Mt McLoughlin four times. Hiked to some lakes behind Four Mile Lake. Luckily I've never had any scary encounters. I've always been with at least one other person. We're probably loud enough that nothing wants to stick around. There's been many sightings here in Southern Oregon, but I have never seen anything out of the ordinary. Seeing a squatch would be terrifying.
Lately every Sunday I'm like damn I gotta go lay blocks in the cold already tmrw then boom I get a notification of a new video and all is good for the next thirty minutes 😂
How is it that I’m sposed to keep hiking with these things out there? I keep hearing from former non-believers, who WERE avid outdoors people, abruptly abandoning their passion of 2, 3, & 4 decades after a single encounter with something 12 foot tall and 4 feet wide, el creaturo no es bueno, Senor!

Another great video of stories. Here’s to another great year of beautiful landscapes, great story telling and continued safety and health to you. Cheers! 😎🍻
Regarding Jody's encounter, I can't help but feel like the Sasquatch walked around their camp and then came back because it was contemplating what to do about Jody & her daughter. Thankfully it left them alone!!
My husband and I have camped in Yellowstone in a tent. We had two nights of a bear coming around our tent. So scary! It even hit our tent and grunted. My husband did some crazy stuff to scare it off both nights. It was very stubborn and it didn't want to leave the tent the second night but it finally left. I prayed and prayed. 😮
What would we do without our remote key fobs, right! You used it to find your truck! I'm not sure what more scarier - sitting in the pitch darkness telling scary stories of sasquatch or walking out in the pitch darkness; well, ok it's both! That husband was either over reacting in a stressful moment, or was taking it out on his wife for the campsite they were at, it was unfair though. Thank you Chris for sharing all three camping encounters, keep hiking 🥾🥾
Your such a legend, Chris. Long before I realised how many cryptids were potentially living in the nth American forests I had decided that hiding alone, in a tent, with 1 or 2 sheets of thin nylon between me & a bear, was probably not my idea of a good time. Now that I am fairly certain bears are not the scariest things out there: There's not enough fire power in the whole of the USA that could get me alone, or alone with 1 other, sleeping in the nth American wilderness. Suddenly, Australia just doesn't seem that scary after all. . . Keep hiking! 🥺 🇭🇲

Thank you for your stories. It is snowing like crazy here in Kentucky (1/5/25). We are expecting 1/2 ice tonight and more snow tomorrow. I suppose this somewhat like it is in the Sierra Mts. Stay safe and warm Chris.
My no w ex husband and I had a very similar experience in the 1970’s at the top of a mountain in the south Okanagan , BC..soon as it got light and we couldn’t hear or smell it circling around the tent anymore, we rolled up the tent, sleeping bags and all threw it in the trunk and left. Didn’t feel safe until we got down to the main road.. Oddly enough we had to clear several trees that had fallen straight across the road to make it up to Eleanor Lake; never thought much about it until listening to your stories , that perhaps the trees didn’t land naturally across the road ..
My heart was pounding just LISTENING to these stories while lying in bed, I cant fathom how scared deep down you must have felt trying to get out of those woods Chris. Great stuff and well told as always!
The rock throwing may be to get the camper’s attention. I think that the Sasquatch is very curious, and doesn’t intend to hurt someone.
Some sasquatches are punks.
