How to fix a stuck trunk latch on a Toyota Prius Gen 2 (2004-2009)

How to fix a stuck trunk latch on a generation 2 Toyota Prius hatchback: You have to open the rear cover in the trunk. Reach your hand in the access slot under the latch. Press up on a little lever on the latch with your finger. Then push up with a screw on the stuck metal piece on the latch. This will cause the latch to lift and return to the open position. Then you can shit your trunk like normal after this.
This problem often occurs when you try to shut your trunk when it has too much stuff inside. It’s an easy fix though, so there’s no need to buy a new latch. Just follow the instructions in this video and you should be good to go.
