This is a really interesting solution to the problem. I love, the low cost, light weight and ease of upkeep of my Pianet but how I wish it had a sustain. I'm not unrealistic however and realise that sustain would compromise all of the benefits listed above but it is still a major downside. The freeze sounds like it is actually doing a good job of provided the faux sustain. Thanks for sharing.

I think Tony Banks played his Hohner Pianet N with a sustain pedal on "Supper's Ready" if you listen to section A called "Lover's Leap" between 3:00 and 3:17.

Check the PLUS sustain pedal, it behaves more like a normal damper pedal. It would do the job completely

Latch setting would actually allow you to play something, click effect on and then let foot off and that part will continue to play. Hit effect button again and it will be replaced by what you play next. Nice effect, but I like the non-latch setting (fast) to do a more traditional sustain effect. When I listen to this video I laugh because none of my sentences really make sense, but I hope you get it. Play notes, press effect to hold sound, play over it, lift foot to release.

I actually think it’s cool because you can just sustain one part but not everything so it won’t get too muddy like with actual sustain.

One of the things I forgot to mention in the video, which is a real cool side effect of this technique, is that while the Pianet T will decay even while holding down the keys, once you use the "secret effect" (no spoilers here), as long as you continue to "hold" the effect, the sustain will go on and on with no decay in volume. You can't alter it in any way once the effect is engaged, but it can be used to go well beyond the natural decay of the Pianet T.

Hohner might have been able to better compete with Wurlitzer and Rhodes if they had just designed this great sounding keyboard to work with a sustain pedal.

Agreed - wish I still kept this thing, it sounded so good, but I just never played it.

I have heard there now is a new thing in technology thats awesome. They call it "electric lights" and it makes things brighter. You definitely should try it some day! ^-^ but thanks though. nice solution!

+rssbrry I plan to create a reason refill featuring this unit... - owing to the fact that I currently have one at hand (that might later be for sale)...

Awesome, those seem like cool electric pianos. A friend of mine recently got and restored a Wurlitzer 206, and it has been tremendous fun to play and gig with. I'd be interested to see how that and a Pianet sound together.

I just got one, mine is rusty though, definitely a bunch of work in it. :3
