For some reason the US market favors big and obnoxious things, over sleek and sporty. It must be a side effect of the obesity epidemic... also, in complete agreement that I would get this over an SUV.
Love Catchpole, the proper brilliant british auto journalist, juxtaposition to the equally brilliant and utterly creative Jason Camissa makes Hagerty a must watch channel. Now, if by some miracle they were to add Chris Harris or the OG himself, Jeremy Clarkson, all other car channels would become utterly irrelevant. Cheers to Hagerty!
This quality, this presentation of automotive journalism in a whole artform itself, is awesome. And you're putting them out at a pretty good pace too! Love it.
Another incredible video! ❤ In most applications Audis do not excite me, but their Estates (Wagons) though...my goodness. In my opinion, Audi's design language is thoroughly realized in Estate form and is one of the sexiest cars on the road. I do not believe we get the RS4 Avant in the U.S., but when I see the RS6 Avant, I drool every time. Thanks for the post!
Just bought my first Audi , 2019 RS3. Boi i gotta say, once you go Audi you ain’t driving other cars. It’s balance between sporty and comfort. The perfect daily drive, the car that you can bring your family to the cottage and also driving on the B road with your boi in the weekend. I’ve own 2015 A45 before and it no way close to the RS3. Imagine driving the 2022 RS4 must be a dream
Another great review by Henry - balanced, informative and coupled with superb filming. The M3 Touring might have the dynamic edge, but on looks alone the RS4 is streets ahead, and on that basis I’d plump for the Audi every time
I remember going to Marbella with my friends in a rented car. We decided to drive up the mountains and ended up in Ronda by chance. Amazing roads and views on the way to Ronda!
Surprise Surprise to see Henry then went back to see am I watching Carfection Or Hagerty still I knew it was Hagerty. Henry is a Perfect Automotive reviewer it's another gem for the team.
At 8:40 who on earth at Audi decided it was a good idea to have the revs increase towards you and the bottom of the dash than up towards the top 🤦🏻♂️ looks so weird and draws your eyes further from the road.
Another great review Henry, you are a master at this! As for the RS4 AC. Magnificant car, except for the 21in iMac sitting on the dash, what were they thinking??
Thank you for shooting the video in a real European town, not just a mindless drag race in the middle of nowhere. The scenery in this video is a respite from tiring anonymity of American desert and from revolting looks of American cardboard suburbia.
Audi is gonna release the b10 next year right? So the next gen rs4 might be more comparable in terms of sheer power to the c63s e performance and the new bmw 3 series touring
Frankly I get that the rs6 avant and rs7 are more disabled but most people won't be able to afford em if they can even find em. Not enough attention is given to this car and the other audi cars for that matter. Very happy to see a good video on the rs4 avant finally!
I’d be upset if I couldn’t have those seats, they look incredible, strange decision to not supply to UK, perhaps Brexit is to blame. Otherwise a fitting finale for the B9, looks so purposeful on KW suspension.
I'm upset Europe gets the RS4 Avant and the M3 Touring while America doesn't. America needs more wagon style cars, less SUVs. But for Audi and BMW, they've made absolutely beautiful cars
Speaking of Ascari, I have the ‘21 RS5 Sportback Ascari LE… the dynamic suspension has true difference between the modes (read wife doesn’t complain when in comfort mode). So, the coil-overs are not a plus here. The dynamic steering is also good so meh on that change. Guys this is a sport wagon not an STO. What the RS needs is a thicker rear sway and another 100 hp, 150 lb.ft and no forward resonators. All this we can do for a few grand aftermarket.
I recently traded in a 2021 RS5 Sportback for a M4 Comp, and the difference is bonkers. The Audi just felt like a normal car with a big engine, but the BMW feels like a bespoke performance car. Literally no competition.
Stunning! one of the most proportioned, purposeful and coolest cars ever built (in any category, and almost cooler than the elder RS6 Avant). Despite Audi's awful reputation for unreliablity and running costs....tempts me greatly. To compare with the beemer or the Merc seems.....laughable.
So sad that wagons are not popular in the states. I would totally buy this over an SUV
Wagons are ugly...only more ugly thing than wagon is SUV
For some reason the US market favors big and obnoxious things, over sleek and sporty. It must be a side effect of the obesity epidemic... also, in complete agreement that I would get this over an SUV.

I love how Hagerty is gathering UA-cam's best automotive journalists! There is a key one missing: Carlos Lago! OG MotorTrend people will agree.
We love some Carlos largo
Agree! Henry is top tier - great to see him here
Jethro, Steve Sutcliffe and bring back Matt Farah
Give us Larlos Cago!!! Also, Chris Harris if we’re creating a wishlist.
I also will vet for Carlos !!! Get him on board, he has some serious work ethic and great perspective.
Henry Catchpole, Jason Cammisa, and Tony Angelo?? Way to go Haggerty
They are assembling a Top Gear
This lineup just keeps getting better and better
Lmao I didn't even realise I was watching Hagerty till I read this comment 🤣
i love them alllllllll
It gives me old motor trend vibes
The production quality of this video is insanely good, easily one of the best I've seen in a while.
The shots and the music reminded me off watching a top gear episode
@@tdc7 Absolutely pointless comment really...
@@tdc7 no this is above that..Also this would be a standard for TV not UA-cam.
This is the type of stuff Henry Catchpole did with Carfection.
Superb cinematography, and Henry was great as always. Wild how online content has now surpassed anything you'd see on TV.
What is TV?
Online surpassed TV long, long ago
The styling of the front bumper reminds me of my B8 S4 front end, just a lot more modernized. Love it!
Loved the Volvo 850 reference at the BTCC! What an awesome sight that was with one side up in the air while turning. Gotta love fast estates.
dog in the back!

All the buzzwords
Jethro and Steve Sutcliffe too
The OG himself is busy farming.😊😊
Clarkson can gfh, but Harris, absolutely.
Clarkson would dumb this down. No thanks.
B-roll is amazing, very nice color grading as well.
The RS is still....RS badge worthy 🔥
Henry Catchpole is one of the finest motoring journalists, perhaps the finest. Always a pleasure to watch.
This quality, this presentation of automotive journalism in a whole artform itself, is awesome. And you're putting them out at a pretty good pace too! Love it.
Excellent review. The most complete, the best shot and narrated by a real auto journalist with a a beautiful pen and real driving skills.
Awesome car. I’d take a serious look at one if Audi would let the USA have it. Great job as always Mr Catchpole!
Henry you have found an even bigger production backup.... Very Bond feel to the start
Hagerty pumping quality constantly
Love from Canada ❤
Love from US of A ❤️

@@alstound no its not.
@@TheEryk03 yes it is. M3 is a fun car to drive rs4 no
@@rovida1985 I have more fun in an RS4.
@@TheEryk03 for sure it is a more easy car to drive. Faster only in particular condition
To be frank, RS4 avant is the best looking high performance Estate
I prefer the new M3 Touring for external looks (aside from the grille), but I love Audi's interior.
@@The_Situation The bmw grill IS a no go for me... Such grills are good for barbecues, not for cars.
Agreed 👌
Her elder sister Rs6 is more beautiful

Love the Speedy on the paint matched grey Nato strap!
A great review from Henry with great ingredients.
It looks like Audi found a sweet spot for that comp package.
What an incredible story. What a team & determination. Congratulations guys on staying in it
I really do appreciate reviews like this. This is art!
I have an black rs4 2019 and I love it.
even after 10 months ownership I still walk away and look back.

So pleased that Henry Catchpole has joined the Hagerty pantheon!
Keep up the good work Hagrety Team! love the editing and cinematics!
Henry, glad to see you here. Been a fan of your calm style since that Boxster in Mallorca.
Such a shame that Audi doesn't bring this and the RS3 sportbak over to the USA. They'd sell out immediately.
USA doesn't deserve such good cars.
Haggerty doing it again with another excellent production. Well done.
Hagerty and Catchpole. Such a great combination!
Can we petition to bring this over to North America?! It worked with the TTRS. Come on guys
Your intro sequences are seriously legendary. This & your Diablo video are *smacks lips* ah-mazing.
I remember going to Marbella with my friends in a rented car. We decided to drive up the mountains and ended up in Ronda by chance. Amazing roads and views on the way to Ronda!
Catchpole paints art with words, Hagerty does the drawing
One of top three car journalist, definitely, thank you 🙏
Nice work Henry as always entertaining informative and insightful
I see that Speedy on a grey NATO, Mr. Catchpole. A+ Selection for this review.
Speedy on a grey NATO strap, the Grey NATO podcast playing during the b-rolls...nicely done
Audi Avant is a brand by it's own right. Practicality and performance. So much of a character.
That stance is insane from factory. Love it
Great RS4, great automotive journalism, great work Henry.
Hagerty apparently sells insurance too.... The best hosts with the best cars and best production on YT wasn't enough😉
🤣🤣

BEAUTIFUL Ronda!! And beautiful machine too!
I don't have a tv, but I swear content like this makes me really consider buying one.
Was only a matter of time. Great to see Catchpole working with Hagerty
Only person that was missing from Hagerty, bravo!
Don't forget Jethro Bovington please.
This is brilliant -- this may have finally let me forgive this car for dropping the V8. So unexpected too -- much better than an SUV too
I'm not audi fan but I join the video very much!!!
I hope Hagerty continues like this .....
All journalists are very good!!!

I would love this chassis with the 5 cylinder! That would be my perfect wagon! 👌🔥🔥
What's the first song in the intro "silence can be cruel"

Audi stopped developing petrol engines altogether, so chances are the next generation cars are hybrid or fully electric.
Frankly I get that the rs6 avant and rs7 are more disabled but most people won't be able to afford em if they can even find em. Not enough attention is given to this car and the other audi cars for that matter. Very happy to see a good video on the rs4 avant finally!
Disabled?
I was saying to my self, this Carfection's one is like Hagerty's style... Amazing !
Went from 2022 RS5 to the 2023MY G80 M3 Competition xDrive, and it's a huge upgrade!! Audi RS cars are fun but not as good as M cars.
Yes agreed but I think they aim to do two different things
Switched from an RS3 to M3 comp xdrive - different universe :)
I’d be upset if I couldn’t have those seats, they look incredible, strange decision to not supply to UK, perhaps Brexit is to blame. Otherwise a fitting finale for the B9, looks so purposeful on KW suspension.
It's a crime that we can't get these in North America. :( I'd trade in my RS5 in a heartbeat.
Cause the wagons don’t sell here in America.
Was waiting for this video, i watched other channels, but i trust Henry.
So happy it is NOT sold in the US. Because if it was, I would be $100k or so poorer, happier sure but also poorer.
Gr8 intro again! And nice music.
I’ll take this over the BMW all day pls!
I had a poster of exactly that, the Rydell's 850 flying over the corner. Might see if i can find it and buy another copy!
I don't get why anyone would buy this instead of an M3 but I have to say: This is the best looking car in the segment.
I think you answered your own question.
I see Henry Catchpole, I subscribe. Simple.
Choice between carwow and hagerty... I'm here.
Thank you for this very good and consistent content. 👍

I would have expected this video on the carfection channel.
Wait, the UK market doesn't get the seats? Damn that sucks
Wish they’d bring this to the US!!!
That intro is very well made. Almost James Bond'esque
B Roll: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
That Speedmaster there looking fine AF 👌
Am I the only one who is expecting more for these competitions variants from a power side of things... why not an extra 20hp and 50NM?
Lovely bucket seats. Do they hold you well? And finally, can you safely fit 6-point harnesses and arrive at the Nurburgring to have fun?
Epic intro, awesome vid
