It makes me happy to see a professional that has a million dollars of pro grade tools, uses the same type of chisel and hammer I own and use. I noticed in the bathtub video too lol I think that may be my favorite thing. It shows I do t need a $50 brand hammer and stuff to do my own fixes (not that I would touch electrical because I'm too clumsy
Yea u should have seen my tower tools lol a bunch of cheapies and some decent ones. I'm just buying certain stuff like the insulated stuff for utube cus lol I don't wanna get yelled at and stuff like that 🙃 😅 😭
To be fair you could carry a hammer. A 8oz Vaughn or my favorite pb swiss double sided hammer with a steel end. None of my hammers are heavy or huge under 11in long and 10oz or less. Park tools makes a cheap one under 20 dollars with steel and rubber on it. Worst case scenario a hf mini ballpoint or claw hammer for 3 bucks 😆 just over 5in tall.
LOL! That cat booked it out of there! I love how a light bulb change turns into a wire issue and from there you found the ancient cloth wiring... when it rains it pours! Awesome job with trouble shooting and the improv ground. I wonder what the age of the house is?
I see the fluke is functioning again 👏I noticed you had wago connectors why didn’t you use em not that I’m a fan of them I do prefer twist on’s. That power screwdriver is awesome and with a light waiting to see when you going to use it as hammer😀great vid and enjoy the narration 👍👍
Yea, I got the new probes lol I don't think it for the meter I'm using but not gonna lie I'll have to show you guys. I can't really use the wagos cus the insulation doesn't go in with cloth wires too well. I have been using wire nuts cus I don't have to worry about how long to strip stuff cus it hides in the nut but they r there when I want them
You really should invest into little giant sure step (11953). That is the most simple fast deployment setup stool you can get. Yes it's expensive but it's one of the best investments ladder wise I've gotten. It's fiberglass and huge guy rated at 375 lbs. If that's too rich for your blood local lowes carry the mighty lite for around 60 bucks also fiberglass (painfully slim). I have up on random black Friday specials and get the one I want.
Morgan's maintenance has a video on it. I've been using it for years before that. I think you'll be happy with it and you better not be AI auto answering us!
You have a pretty nice set up in your truck and seem to carry a lot of inventory. It must be a lot of work to keep track of your inventory, the cost and how much to charge the customer. I like your shelves. Going to the hardware store is time consuming and losing you money. You are smart to carry as much inventory as you can, By the way, be careful with cloth wiring as a lot of the time, that cloth is made of asbestos. I would wear gloves and a face mask or at least wash my hands really good after doing the job.
I did one just like this the other day . I turned the switch off thinking the voltage was cut at the box started to get my tester out of my bag but to lazy to climb back down the ladder and walk 10 feet . Turned out that the light had been switched thru the neutral wire not the black fun times...
Dudeee I was working on live 277v tying in lights for a gas station so the other trades could see. Thus was when u didn't have much knowledge. We'll I thought I couldn't get hit by a neutral and dude I git hit cus there was a load on it all the lights. The guy next to me was laughing saying u just git hit by 277 lol 😆 it hurt so bad and I was lucky.
Almost anything wired before the late 60s you need to assume it might be neutral switched. Especially if it's 2 conductor romex or cloth wire. Very common here in the south anyways
overhead work really gets to me @ my age (73), you know better than to work on LIVE wires, your day is coming if there's in truth in that caveat...it's how we roll?
They usually just have me fix what's broken . I could have done what I want but keep in mind if I just start blowing money on stuff that I'll loose this property manager. Lol I'm already charge so much cus I have to fix so much stuff lol 😆 it's never ending
At least it was a metal box that was sturdy enough to hold the weight of that monstrosity. Next time use a gear tie or large zip tie to hold it works great and adjustable 👍.
It's just a 10 minute job huge red flag from the customer. If someone was to replace it without looking you'd be in the same place not much after. Better yet a callback which cost you not them bad for business. Same stuff I deal with and the customers just don't understand. Glad his clog is still good with the disengaging drain he had.
@@MattHmm-rq6dn yep people don't realize they say all the same stuff. Apparently they think it will be way cheaper if they say its easy. Good memory! Yea gotta love cast iron
I walk in to places and ask how x fix is goes and they ask who what when oh yea! Your on top of your game lately i like it. Hear the news about Ray dodged a bullet there. I appreciate your content.
You yawning in beginning, I retired July 31st and sleeping in is awesome. I’m staying a little busy. Fixed 2 of neighbors garage windows and put in new gutter downspouts and other neighbor I did his lawn 3 times while recovering from hernia surgery. Nothing that makes me get out of bed sooner than I want! Thanks for video.

Lol u know about that huh 😏 I haven't used it yet but it's tempting 😅 seems like a auto answer
👊😎
Yeee hawww
Use some shrink tube on the cloth ends. Dont disturb the cloth trying to wrap with tape
I don't really wanna put heat to the wires to tell you the truth but alot of people do it your way

I got insulated tools tho Tom!!! As long as I don't get complacent I'll be good
@@thehandymanexperience226 that's your story and you're sticking to it
Cloth wiring always makes for an interesting repair. Makes me feel more like an archeologist than an electrician. 😂
Yea my skin is always crawling when I have to deal with it. That stuff is so brittle and could Make the job way harder in a second
cant believe the property manager didnt just replace that ancient fixture wtf
