Beautiful review, I was wondering how to work that device. Now I might just buy it because of you👏👏👏👏
Thanks for the very informative video! It actually answered the questions I have very clearly. In your opinion is there other alternatives to this product as well that serve the same functionalities?
I can only speak on what i have tested
Good review. I wonder if you can answer 2 questions I have: is the CEC volume control sluggish? I have a different HDMI audio extractor currently and while CEC works, it's quite slow. eg on the AppleTV it shows what looks like a loading bar when I am changing volume instead of changing immediately. The second question is whether it has CEC auto-switch for the sources. For example, on my current switcher if I have the Nintendo HDMI selected and I wake up the AppleTV, it automatically switches over. Thank you, very hard to find this type of info online.
Hi Steve. what I need is an HDMI arc pass though to sound bar with a fiber optic feed to a hearing aid send unit. can you tell me if the had-935 will do that? thanks.
Does it support CEC volume control of Soundbar connected to earc using television remote ? I have a earc extractor which does pretty much the same as this one but doesn’t pass through CEC volume t control :))
So my main concern is that my samsung tv does not have dolby atmos, only dolby digital. So basically if i used apple 4k, connect it to the splitter, can connect the splitter to the doly atmos soundbar directly, then i will be able to experience dolby atmos right?
very informative video but i have a question will this device work if i connect my laptop as an Input and my soundbar which supports dolby atmos and has only earc port so can get only audio out of this device without a need for a tv as i watch most of my content on laptop
I have an lg 4k 27gp950-b monitor and an Xbox series X hooked up to a Polk Audio magnifi through an hdmi-audio converter that puts out 1080p 120hz at best. The monitor doesn't have an optical or e-arc connection. Will this extractor put out 4k 120hz with my setup?
Im considering getting one, however will I get Dolby Atmos if my tv doesn’t support 2.1 hdmi ? I want to connect my Sonos beamgen 2 to the sounbar port, and my pc to the one of the hdmi inputs - thoughts ?
Hello :), I have an older Samsung TV that only has two HDMI ports and no digital port. We have a new soundbar that requires HDMI arc or earc. Will this equipment allow me to do the connection? I have watched so many videos and I’m confused on what equipment I actually need. I thought about using a device to make my Tv Bluetooth capable, but do not know what the best option for sound, etc. would be. I’m hoping I don’t need to buy a new television. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
i have these,, but there is a delay on the speaker connected to RCA. how to fix it?
Can you pl tell me difference between hda 929, 931 and 932
I have an lg oled tv c3. I want to get the best audio have it presently connected connected optical but want the best sound. Goes to bose 535 system what extracter would be best to hook it to get full sound and 4 k and how to connect thanks for your help 3:21
Is it possible to use as 5.1.2 or not? 2 channels being ceiling atmos speakers, yes or no?
Does this upscale a smart tv arc only , to dolby atmos sound bar, as l can only get 5.1
I'm needing one like this that will support 4k 120hz 2.1 hdmi vrr hdr pass through split into 2 outputs for tv supporting 4k 120hz and soundbar supporting earc + dolby atmos.
2 inputs would be great as well.
What do you recommend Steve?
This one has most of it HDMI 2.1 Selector with 4 Inputs

In place of two sound bars, can two AVRs be connected for simultaneous audio
Hi!! If my TV is only ARC (dolby digital only decoding) can I take the sound from my PS5 to the soundbar then only send the video output to my TV with this?
Really need your wisdom!!!
Do you know an alternative please? This thing is out of stock everywhere I look, and kts lerfect for what I want to do, I need CEC,Earc, 3 inputs, 1 output to TV and 1 to my sonos soundbar. Why have they discontinued this box it does it all.
Thanks for the video. First question if I am watching a movie with 7.1 audio will the optical port still send out 5.1 audio? Second question if I connect a sound bar to the eart hdmi will still send audio from any of the hdmi ports selected even that I am connected to a projector with no arc or earc capability?
All the examples I have are in the video
I purchased the unit. For the second question the answer is yes! I get audio on the earc out port even with no earc at the tv port . I am using it to connect my Devialet Dione sound bar and it works well. I am just having problems with my Mac mini detecting a stereo connection preventing me to configure multi channel surround sound output
Hi, can you help me, i just bought the orei HDA-934 but i can't get all the options for the audio formats, i want to select the dolby atmos but i don't know why is not showing those options, so if can can help me please?. Thank you
Will this be able to send audio to older anthem mrx 700 AVR without eARC?
Think I need to watch this again.
It caught my eye as it mentions " sound bars".
Just curious as I have Sonos beam , would this help with the fact that watching " 1080 blu ray" as there's no beam days I have to settle with PCM stereo,
Any thoughts ??
Thanks 👍
I don’t own a sonos to test
@@TechSteve ok thanks, found out there's a DTS work around 👍
Does the monitor have speakers?
Just for clarity.... I believe the device has to be switched from 7.1 to 5.1 to enable dual soundbars. Sooo... no ATMOS. :( I'm currently in back and forth communication with Orei's tech support trying to find a way to run dual soundbars 7.1 and 5.1.
Hi Steve. Is this compatible with astro a40 and can i get 1440p 120hz on ps5
my computer is the source, connect the hdmi port on VGA to HDA-935 into input port 1, connect hdmi tv/eARC hdmi to my TV and projector device without eARC port, bose 900 soundbar connects to the soundbar port eARC on HDA-935.
So can my speaker play Dolby Atmos 7.1 sound??? I bought this device before but it couldn't output sound so I want to ask carefully before ordering ^^
Can I ask what's the difference between HDA-935 and HDA-931?
thank you!!!
Hi Steve. Not a techie. I have a tv with ARC and a soundbar with Earc. Can I convert my tv to eArc using this and have Atmos lossless sound come out of my soundbar regardleas whether I use the tv, firestick, or game console as my source?
No because arc is 18gbps vs eArc 48gbps
Hi, can you tell me if this will be working with HomePod set up to Apple TV trough this OREI to my monitor which is not supporting EARC?
| will have sound from my xbox to HomePods?
No
I have a BD4k player with Dolby Atmos and an Amplifier 7.1 with Dolby Digital TrueHD coding but without Dolby Atmos decoder.
Currently, the amplifier doasn’t read Dolby Atmos on-top information and plays only audio 7.1 channel.
The “HDMI eARC Audio Extractor“:
a) Ignors the Dolby ATMOS information and produce an 7.1 audio output? So, for me, the result would be the same…
b) Or, it converts the Dolby ATMOS information in a 7.1 audio output no-compressed, so, I could appreciate the Dolby ATMOS on my 7.1 no Dolby Atmos system?
Sorry, I hope, but I am not shure to have explained my issue clearing
Will this unit work on a vintage stereo receiver to plug into a new tv also ?
It has a 3.5 mm output if I remember correctly, use that with an RCA cable to 3.5mm cable
Is there a delay when you first turn on the TV to your primary streaming device? (an TV in my case)
All devices will do that to sync the digital signal
I have the OREI HDA-931. I was running my Apple tv 4k, Bose 600 and Samsung 4k TV with it. When it worked everything sound and looked great but I did have issues of losing audio when formates where changed and then it stop working for me all together. Can you test it on say youtube TV with your Apple TV and see if there is any delay when changing channels. Some channels where in 5.1 while others where in 2.0 and that switch caused some issues for me.
Sorry I don’t have have the gear you have, you can try going into apple TV and turning off match frame rate, some times that cause issues. It’s under the video settings, it might not be the fix but worth trying
You can also try switching pcm and bitstream in the TV setting. It’s just trial and error, good luck
Hello. Will this device be able to transmit 7.1 out of the Dolby digital?
The links are in the description so you can read all the specifications
I bought Orei HDA-935 and I want to connect my Mac mini to it and to my soundbar for watching movies with atmos but I can’t get atmos sound only PCL signal and only when I connect the device via usb-c port on my Mac
I am having problems with my Mac mini as well. When connected with HDMI it only detect a stereo connection
It seems that the hdmi inputs at the orei are always at stereo and only the outputs follow the audio format selection
Hi steve. May i know if this extractor will work on pc. Gpu hdmi audio out to extractor hdmi input and then i will use hdmi out soundbar for my bose 600 soundbar to play 7.1 ch.
Worth trying, I can’t test every scenario
Hi tect Steve I am Jamie a subscriber to your Chanel do this support the Wii console I love your videos keep up the good work bro
Honestly I don’t own one but it supports anything with HDMI outputs, thanks for subscribing
Thank you I just ordered one off eBay dose it work with PS3 I have a Wii to keep up the good work tech Steve bro you give good advice
@TechSteve great video bro ... just have one question, my tv only has arc , will it still be able to send the Picture and audio through it even though it's earc ?
@fazimabdool6437 I would have to assume it’s backwards compatible but i haven’t tried
Ive just upgraded to sky glass which has an earc output. my sony surround sound doesnt have earc as its to old. can i connect my surround sound via hdmi to the audio extractor?
I showed examples on the video
I cant use optical digital due to the design the cable will snap at it will be bent at 90 degrees
I use PC (HDMI out) and ATMOS-compatible Soundbar (HDMI eARC port) and PC monitor (HDMI in). Can I get ATMOS signal from my PC to sound bar using this extractor?
Sorry I don’t have a pc with this spec to test
@@TechSteve if you have this device right now you can test it with a laptop as an input on orei and connect the soundbar earc output to a soundbar if it works hurrray we get the answer
what if you have 4k arc tv , that does not have e-arc
I showed the options on the video
Can not find one of these anywhere, your links goes to a different type.
I see you say 7.1 , but can it produce a 7.1.4 audio?
Hi, in line of this, would like to know if the device can decode Dolby Atmos content to 7.1 channel? if thats the case, we can place the "surround Left Right" over the head speaker to emulate 5.1.2 settings. Any thought?
Hey Steve
Yo
Does it suppirts chrima 4:4:4?
Please read specs on links i provided
Yo, does this support 1440p on PS5 at 120hz?
Most TVs don’t support that
A tv like that’s gonna cost like 2 grand
@@TechStevebut will it support it? My tv will support 120hz@ 1440p with the Xbox Series X. I need to extract 7.1 audio stream and send it to a sound system using an HDMI cable.
The link i provided has all the specs
