@@seenthroughglass Honestly, the worse things go the better the content. This is really like if Hammond was even worse at fixing things but was incredible at making videos:)
@@seenthroughglass you should look into whether or not a 4-seater car can actually be MOT'd as a 2-seater car with no hassle. At the very least, don't chuck away any of the bits you've just removed. 😉
Sam, these types of videos are really entertaining. Especially considering the current climate, a lot of people are modding their cars themselves and these types of videos are rlly inspiring
Way to go Sam! One tip for the beginning DIY-er. Grab freezer tape and sandwich bags. Label everything you take out. Keep all the bolts together. Take a photo of all the bits. This may be an obvious statement but someone out there doesn't know that sometimes parts are designed for the left or right side of the car.
One of the best video’s on your channel. Always interesting to see how much someone can do without any experience with working on cars. Make the whole project a DYI project! I certainly will keep watching if you do.
Well done Sam. I started working on my own cars a few years ago. At first I was really nervous, but started doing simple things in the interior, like changing a radio... Then I tried to change the engine oil, and now, I am no expert by any mean, but I've lost the fear. Also, youtube tutorials help A LOT. Cheers from Spain.
Think we can all agree that watching Sam making the mods makes for a far more entertaining video than watching someone who knows what they're doing 😂More of this please, loved it 👌
Alternative title, "Sam makes simple modification look harder than it is". But love seeing the project come along, and you actually getting your hands dirty.
Nice to see you actually working on the car yourself for once. Hope you keep doing that. So we get to see you turn into a real petrolhead, that can actually do things yourself. Keep up the good work.
I know that feel, I bought the M3 for a track car build 2 years ago now, spent 30k on parts and it's sat on my drive since :(( Excited to see what this becomes. We should have a track car show down in 2026
As I believe Sam predicted, just as he begins work on the Abarth, the “595 Hercules” is announced, and seems to be spicy. Regardless, love this DIY content, and love the project car vibes
Haven't watched STG since about 2016, but this video has got me interested again. I honestly think he should do more jobs on his own cars, as far as his abilities will allow him.
Great video, sam! Glad to see you pick up some tools and have a go at this, very fun to watch! Can't wait to see the project (and your mechanic skills) continue to progress!
This video makes me appreciate rebuild channels so much more. They make it look easy, and often I think I could do that. But then there's Sam reminding me how I would look actually working on cars.
Well done Sam for having a go and you did fine just take your time and do some research as you did. Get yourself some plastic trim removal tools/kit off Amazon
I don't comment that often, but i must say i am proud. 😁 You experienced almost everything while working on car. But losing tools in car is experience on its own.
More DIY video's needed - working on your own car is so rewarding! Maybe some standalone lights inside so we (and you) can see what you are actually doing next time!?. Cheers. Chris
Props to you for giving it a go! Soon you'll realise it's easier and cheaper to just do most things yourself, and you know exactly what's been done then.
Brilliant ;-) I was going to do mine but ended up fitting a full leather interior and Red seat belts! fab job Sam! I like the Red net with the black cross brace! No matter Defo a keeper!
An extension bar on the ratchet can make life a lot easier. Hold onto the extension when it stops ratcheting and then you can keep using the socket instead of your fingers.
Whenever I do these types of things, I always put everything inn ziploc bags with little notes to myself about how it goes together (or where I stored the photos showing how it went together). OCD as heck, but I do like old-me more when I help current me! Great video, cheers!
Great video. Well done Sam. You might not be the worlds best mechanic, but you’re a flipping great UA-camr. I couldn’t do what you do. Well done for just going for it!
Good job Sam. Nice to see you progressing with the little car and tackling things on your own. Thanks for the 10 minutes of content to escape yet another ground hog day
Build not bought project? It is really satisfying when you solve the problem to have your project on the correct way. Try to keep doing it yourself as much as you can, you will love much more your car.
What a refreshing video format sam. Really enjoyed this mate. So good to see you getting hands on. What a great set up you've created to do the work in too. Well done mate.
Nice to see you get your hands dirty Sam haha! No but seriously nice job. An abarth owner myself and been following you since the 4C days. Very much looking forward to the next episode!
Yes, please continue to modify yourself because it will start to set yourself apart from the others, and not be just another review channel. Although, you're still one of my favorites. Keep up the good work Same.
Off the back of your seen through glass podcasts with Tony from Gravelwood I contacted Tony and agreed to sell my recently passed away father's BMW. Let me just say how easy and good to deal with he was. He gave a good price and it was the most straightforward selling of a car I've ever done. Anyway, just thought I'd let you know.
Again you have set yourself above other channels! Great video and awesome getting stuck in! Your channel is a cool looking thing with your location and car collection!
More "do it yourself" mods - Great video
Thanks matey

We're all very proud of you Sam. Now time to learn how to do suspension and brakes. If Ethan from CT can do it, you can do it too.
Ha good point! Its a brave new world
Love the fact you’re working on your car! Excited for the project!
Thanks for watching!
Who knew that this was the lockdown content we needed! STG flapping around for 10 mins. Good on you Sam and keep it coming!

Great to hear! Much appreciated
Brilliant job Sam. For some who doesn't normally work on cars, this was a great little job to tackle yourself
Glad you liked it!
Haha amazing how he started growing a beard now that he works on his cars himself
I think Sam and Seb had a bet going on. Suddenly Vettel spotted with a brand new bolding look and Sam's got more hair now!
Haha! Just wait till I buy a Morgan and look like Gandalf

Maybe people are laughing and stuff but you gotta start somewhere and I enjoyed so 🤷♂️
Thanks dude
Good job Sam 👌🏼👌🏼
You should of weighed the parts you took out to see how heavy they are.
Good idea! Will do that and discuss on a podcast
Glad to see you’re respectful of the travel restrictions and other country’s mandates instead of finding your way around them like other UA-camrs.

Happy to see the project is still on!!

It's awesome that you made the effort and it looks great in the car. Also to have the space to work on your car is great as well.

Watching Sam struggle with basic wrenching is quite entertaining. STG DIY is now going to be my favorite series on the tubes.
"who needs tools; fingers" - that's what she said

Sam personally working on his car alone? 2021 is off to an odd start, I love it!
