For me its Fighter with Two-Weapon Fighting and Shield Bash, Double Slice too if I play Human. Two attacks per round at level 1 with Weapon and Shield while keeping the Shields bonus to AC. Full strength added to both attacks if I have Double Slice. Let me put on a Breastplate, get my hands on a Light Spiked shield or Shield of Bashing and watch me go. Later on I can add Missile Shield to gain a free Deflect Arrow check as long as I use a Shield, Hammer The Gap with Improved Two-Weapon Fighting to help boost my damage. Boost AC further with Dodge, etc. In Pen and Paper there's even a feat called Ray Shield, it allows you to Deflect one Ray Spell per round. What's that you cast Enervation at me? Oh I use my Shield to Deflect it, it has no effect... Disintegrate? Oh you'll probably destroy my Shield but I can block that too.
I re-speced Valerie into a Two Handed Fighter with fauchard training. 18-20 crit range on a d10 damage die with all that bonus damage, critting quite frequently. Throw in the whole Shatter Defenses and Dreadful Carnage feat line, plus Cleaving Finish, and she was wiping the floor through the entire game. She could easily dish out 300 damage in one round by late-game, while making every enemy in the encounter Shaken. This was modded, obviously, to add some of those features and abilities, as well as make custom enchanted fauchards, but anyone who thinks fighters are boring in Pathfinder doesn't know Pathfinder.
For the Scion, did a run up to 15 with a cheat to see what all it got. At lvl 3 it gets +1 Natural AC and it's initial resistance to energy from the dragon type chosen (5). Increases by +1 at 7 and 13, energy resistance goes to 10 and 20 at the same rate. Lvl 4 gives you an added +1d4 damage to attacks while Arcane Strike is active, of the type matching the dragon. You saw the Dazzling Display. Wings as it states, though dont seem to reflect on the character yet. Looking at the PNP version at lvl 20 you get a lot of immunities and blindsense, but I haven't had a chance to run it up to that yet (Yay work!) Overall, not terrible, and most of that is just taking up the armor training. You are supposed to get bonuses to intimidate according to the PNP, but I didnt see that in the game, so it may be that that isn't implemented yet. But losing the Bravery right now with no real replacement sucks. Overall, I think a Reach/AoO build could be pretty cool, the +3 natural armor and +3 from wings can easily make up for the armor training and free up a necklace slot. If you dont get the dragon capstone then take a dip of Thug for striking demoralizing and you could have some real fun. But really after 15 you could do a lot. TWF build would add up that 1d4 fast, 5 lvls of rogue would do a lot for this.
The character art in the thumbnail actually sparked an entire character for me a long time ago when I just saw it on Google images. It's weird because I haven't been able to find it again.
It's, sadly, not displaying things right, used a cheat to check what all it gets, you also get natural armor, energy resists, a further +1d4 energy damage and may get some immunities at lvl 20, but I dont know if the game will take you there, so I wasn't really interested in taking it that far :P IN PNP you are also supposed to get some intimidation bonuses for the lost bravery, but I didn't see it in the game ATM, may get added in later. Would do well for the Dazzling Display. The capstone, again, in PNP, also gives immunity to paralysis, sleep, and damage of her energy type, as well as blindsense with a range of 60 feet. Overall, I think a Reach/AoO build could be pretty cool, the +3 natural armor and +3 from wings can easily make up for the armor training and free up a necklace slot. If you dont get the dragon capstone then take a dip of Thug for striking demoralizing and you could have some real fun.
I wish they added a subclass that was clearly meant for dex builds, but I guess that's supposed to be the Slayer anyway. I guess you can go dex with Aldori Defender and take Combat Reflexes and just counterattack a bunch of enemies per round if they're all on you.
The aldori defender swordlord is dex he even gets slashing grace and is a one weapon he gets a feat as well that will give him 2ac when only wielding a duelist sword slashing grace is the same as weapon finesse adding your dex over str for hit and damage. parry and steel net you get a very very high AC and not bad Damage.
As a kid playing NWN I used to _love_ rolling 2H/power attack, but I don't think I paid much attention to the combat log. -5 to hit?? Given how hard it was to hit things in Kingmaker even without massively debuffing yourself, that makes it seem like you'll never land the power attack on anything. I must be missing some kinda trick.
To add to that, you will have boosts from gear and buffing. Nastiest hitter I've seen was my buddy Ben with his Barb, 'Raging, charging, Power attack' was his literal battlecry. With the buffs he almost never missed and with pounce and the like was just a blender.
God bless you, man i can feel that you are tired of covering these classes and subclasses :D it is truly strange and overwhelming to see all these classes and subclasses+ Prestige classes!!?? man coming from DnD 5e it really is a different experience, how the hell can they have so many feats? man are the feats as strong as the feats in 5e? i wish if you could cover them soon! if you feel overwhelmed its ok !! i can wait
Eh, pathfinder feats on the whole are weaker imo. There's no "polearm master" or "crossbow expert" that instantly gives you a huge boost for instance ... but on the flip side, you don't forfeit attribute points for feats in Pathfinder so overall "powerlevel" of characters will be higher imo. Or at least numbers will be higher. More attacks pr round, waaaay higher AC and saving throws etc etc. I like Pathfinder but it's hella bloated.
@@noukan42 Indeed. A 5e fighter can only get 7 feats, but he/she has to trade away stat increases and depending on how your character was built that could be very critical.
Then you arent making your Fighters right. You could invest in Craft and Profession skills (If we are talking pen and paper) to give you stuff you can do outside of combat. Maybe you could even use a Trait to open a skill you don't normally get as a Class skill, such as Diplomacy. Maybe you could even, god forbid, invest some points into Intelligence and Charisma, so that you are half decent at them skills. Maybe you could even (Shock Horror!) invest some General Feats on Non-Combat stuff, such as Skill Focus, and use your copious amount of Bonus Feats gained from Fighter to stay relevant in Combat. Eg: Skill Focus (Diplomacy), Power Attack and Sunder at Level 1. Either Human or Half-Elf can do this. With a 12 Charisma, using a Trait (Influence) to open Diplo as a Class Skill at level 1 you would have (1 cha +1 rank +3 Class +3 Skill focus +1 trait) +9 Diplo. Not Bad. Some Bards would be jealous.
Armiger looks weak because you get 1 skill point more each level but you lose 2 feats. Dragonheir Scion looks weak because you lose most important things about fighter and 2 feats and get Arcane Strike that is weak as a weapon training from Fighter or Two-Handed Fighter will give you +4 hit and +4 dmg at all times without needing to cast anything. Dwarf + Two-Handed Fighter and picking right feats for Greataxe and using Vanquisher in Pathfinder Kingmaker made you destroy everything with your 17-20/x4 crits.
@@EgoJCs21 That's exactly what I'm doing, two handed weapon fighter, but I want that ability to move 30 feet with heavy armor cause I got no shield to help with ac.
I know this is a big task you've taken on, but I am liking this series. It will definitely come in handy when I start playing WotR.
Yeh, when the Definitive Edition comes out and the game is actually playable all the way through. :/
As someone who loved Kingmaker but doesn't have access to WotR Beta I really like your videos. Thank you for all the time you have spent doing this!
In case someone who has access to beta sees this: are the "Demonic Form" spells implemented yet?
Not yet

Dragon heir scion sounds pretty cool
Dragonheir Scion feels extremely underwhelming, it's a shame it's the one with the best flavor out of the 6.

@@Tillman581 Awesome response! Glad to know there's more to the class than what's being shown.

I'm playing Kingmaker right now with a dex based Aldori Defender/Aldori Swodlord and he clears house. So that is entirely viable.
