Remember, the Blackhawk had its share of problems during its early years aka Crashhawk. Hopefully the Osprey will overcome its problems too!
Repairing it was the only option. The CV-22 mods for the MH special forces operations made it too heavy for CH-47 or CH-53E
Since it was in New Mexico,not a foreign country, there was no need to destroy it or write it off
So interesting
why was the repair of this airplane in New Mexico a "secret". Sounds like the right thing to do in a completely non-hostile environment.
Probably because it was bad PR for the Marine Murderer's Military Industrial Complex patrons.

Mmmm.....this is a very expensive program!!! Maintenance time and cost very high!!! Not sure if this is really productive???! Time and cost of maintenance, range, cargo space, lifting capability, airspeed, safety, reliability .....Operational cost???? Mmmm not so sure if it is money well spent?????!!!
