As my mother became abusive I saw him as ‘good cop’ and when we were together I felt free from my mother. Though over time probably through my moms manipulation and my father’s horrific treatment at work he joined in on the abuse. Now he holds no love for me anymore, he complains about me all the time. Everytime he says “I love you” it makes me feel better for a bit but I know deep down it’s a lie. I just want my dad back

That one girl that covered As The World Caves In got 100M views. I saw 'cover' in the title and looked up the original. There I found Matt. This guy has talent and soul. Even in my sidebar I'm seeing covers of his songs (including this one) that have many times more views, even being covers. That tells me that true musicians see the soul behind Matt and try to capitalize on it. There's something special about finding the golden nuggets of music from unknown artists that's just pure soul. That's why Matt reminds me of Jon Bellion - a name you've likely never heard. And that's the point. Jon Bellion wrote Memories for Maroon 5, Holy for Justin Bieber and Graveyard for Halsey. He could have released the songs himself and gotten famous but didn't. He kept the music sacred and let other artists, artists whom prioritize the industry over the music, and made them famous because of it. This Matt Maltese guy reminds me of him for that reason. No flashyness, no millions upon millions of views, just soul and genuine songwriting. Many people on the internet have great voices, but I can sense when there's good soul behind it. I see that here. Most songs I listen to at first and can't get into it, but after a few times listening to it I start to like it. This is not one of those songs. As soon as the song began I was in love. And when the chorus started the tears came, followed by my sobs. Just.... wow. I've listened to it 57 times and it's still as if I've listened to it the first time. It's just one of those songs that you instantly fall in love with and feel connected to it. Wow
