I'm a big fan of physical suncreens and I'm currently using the Some By Mi sunscreen that's shown in this video and Skin1004's Air-Fit Suncream Plus, which is also a physical sunscreen. These 2 work wonders for me and my maskne problems. Both are absolutely soothing to my skin and lightweight. While Some By Mi's leave a white cast, it's not as bad as Axis-Y's. Skin1004's doesn't leave a white cast but I noticed from my latest bottle that it's lightly tinted in nude, so I guess that's why there's no white cast. If you don't like white casts, Skin1004's is the best option. Both also have a pleasing smell, by the way. I also have the Axis-Y sunscreen but I've stopped using it bc even though I use the same products to double-cleanse, I suffer bad breakouts continually. It also feels heavy on my skin (as in, you can feel that layer of sunscreen floating on your skin) and the white cast is horrible (I have fair skin yet it's horrible for me). If my finger nails were to accidentally touch my face, they will pick up the white-ish/greyish substance from the suncreen. The overly herbal (or as I put it, chinese medicine) smell is so strong, hardly goes away and gets even worse when you're wearing a mask. The smell gets trapped and that's the only thing you'll smell for as long as you're wearing that mask.
Do you have suggestions on similar products like the skin1004 airfit suncream plus? I am using it too, but now I am bored, trying to find new sunscreen with minimal whitecast just like the skin1004s😂
Oh I am using the axis y and loving it! Gotta agree with the smell tho, the first time i used it the smell stayed all day long lol but now I’m used to it. Maybe i can try some by mi after. Thanks doc!
I have acne prone oil skin and tried Some By Mi for 5 months. Somehow it makes my skin more oily at the end of the day. The ingredients are superstars for the skin, it is just the texture abit heavy for my skin type. Axis-Y so far so good and I dont have much oil on my face. Sometimes, when it comes to ingredients, less is more. (Note: My moisturizer is packed with niacinimide, vit. c etc so I prefer sunscreen with just basic and mild protection)
@@iamthetweet1 i have sawo matang skin tone so white cast is ok. Doesnt make u look like a cake. Hahaha. Biore sunscreen produces more whitecast than some by mi.
I tried my sister Axis-y and i lovee the outcome after use it. It does leave a whitecast but still bearable. I have a very oil skin but it suit me well, not to oily after apply. I love how the tone up skin look. And not sunburn at all after use it. But what i hate is, my skin started to breakout so bad. So i had to stop using it. It really frustrated me because i thought i found the right one. I think i'm going to try the truecica. Hopefully it doesn't breakout my skin.
Hi Doc Ingky, can you please do a review about the Cure aqua gel? I have sensitive skin so I really take notes on every ingredients you explained. You're reviews are so helpful and I trust you! Been recommending this channel to all my friends. :) Thanks in advance!
Hmmm.... With this, still doubtful if I should get a mineral sunscreen... Since it is hard to blend with other products (skin care or make up) and the white cast.. Also the easy to be removed feature.. Not ideal for a sweaty person and hot & humid weather
Is that the reformulated one. Because apparently the old one was great on people of color too in terms of white cast, but the new one leaves a cast even on lighter dark skin people
@@iamthetweet1 Nampak jugak. Tapi saya make sure kulit betul2 kering baru apply sikit2 dekat kulit, layer by layer. Kurang jelas sangat whitecast dia..
B3 is in almost everything! I used a gel cream with 5% Niacinamide from TPL for more than half a year and it always burned und stinged my face. My face was red hours after application. What a shame, it would’ve been a great ingredient to integrate into my routine. Even RetinAL is better tolerated by my skin, I don’t have any noiticable problems with it, I even feel it warming up while it absorbs into my skin which feels nice. Most of my sunscreens contain B3 also at about 2% and I can feel it stinging throughout the day. I love BOJ suncreen overall but the Niacinamide makes it intolerable in the long run, I probably won’t be repurchasing it.
hi doc. i js came across this wonderful channel of urs. im actually in the search of sunscreen bcs my old one is pricey and im thinking on switching to a new brand but now im kind of re thinking my decisions since i enjoy using it so much. can you try making a video abt *ALLIE Chrono Beauty Gel UV Ex SPF 50 PA++++ SUNSCREEN* aka my current sunscreen. Thanks a lot !
Hello, i bought 2 skincare trial set kit cosmoderm, niacinamide and tea tree oil from cosmoderm. My question is can i use both? Example today niacinamide set and tomorrow tea tree oil set? Or should i finish niacinamide first and then use tea tree oil? Or aftrr finish niavinamide should i skip 1 - 3days before apply new skincare?
I actually use CeraVe moisturizer and a cleanser for acne skin but,😢 they causes whit and red pores, acne , i watched ur video about purging and breakout and i get confused more 🥺.. do u recommend to me to be more patient with them or leave them
HI!!! PLEASE DO NEXT REVIEW NIVEA'S MOISTURIZERS PLSSS. IM SO CURIOUS TO USED THEIR MOISTURIZER BUT IM NOT SO SURE IM SCARED IT MIGHT DAMAGED MY SKIN. HOPE YOU NOTICE ME LOVE FROM PH!❤️
I’m using both the physical and chemical sunscreens by some by mi. But I’ve read that for chemical sun screen, must apply 15 mins. So I usually use the physical since I am too lazy to wait 15 mins.
this is a myth, both physical (inorganic) and chemical (organic) work as soon as you apply. The suggestion to wait is for the sunscreen to settle onto the skin in an even film for better protection. And that advice counts for both inorganic and organic sunscreens.
They said mineral ssc is good for combi or oily skin but hell no. If you live in hot humid country all around year and sweating all day, mineral ssc will flow away.
Yeah... So true.. Since as being mentioned.. It just sit in top of the skin.. Mineral sunscreens ain't ideal for humid and hot weather.. Also in swimming
I live in a hot & humid country too & I have combination-oily skin type. But I really enjoy using my mineral sunscreen. It makes my skin matte finish & not oily at all. Unlike chemical sunscreen, which will leave my skin oily/greasy feeling when I reapply it throughout the day & also more acne eventho I double cleanse. However, you can't run from the whitecast of physical sunscreen when reapplying, but at least less acne & greasy feeling to deal with afterwards😂

do u moisturize before the axis y sunscreen? and do u live in a hot country?
Can Dr do more video on hyperpigmentation , which is the toughest skin concern to deal with , without LASER ?
Axis-y... I just started using it, and I love it. Thank you Doc for info
I love both . Axis Y have a little bit herbal smell when applying but after a few minutes it became slightly faint scent and it is more moisture .
Oh I am using the axis y and loving it! Gotta agree with the smell tho, the first time i used it the smell stayed all day long lol but now I’m used to it. Maybe i can try some by mi after. Thanks doc!
as a nurse myself, i only watch reviews done by dermatologists. thank you doctor!

SOMEBYMI just released their V10 Hyaluronic sunscreens too, I hope you make a review of that tooooo
I use Ren Clean Screen Mineral SPF 30, it's a mineral and mattifying sunscreen. It's good but very expensive!

What about the whitecast for both of the sunscreens? Does the whitecast can be tolerated by tanned/sawo matang tone skin?

been loving mugwort products atm so i might try axis y

Yes, that's the reason I am not trying the Axis-y... White cast, I can't deal.
Do you double cleanse?
Hello Dr.Ingky. Can you please make a review of AXIS-Y Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum vs SKINTIFIC SymWhite 377 Dark Spot Serum 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hi, thanks for this video but please can you do a review on the axis y dark spot serum 🙏

Is there a list on sunscreens for oily+sensitive skin?
Great Video! It would be nice to also see a video for the new SOME BY MI Truecica Aqua Calming Sunscreen; which is a chemical sunscreen. Cheers! 😀
Great suggestion!
yes please do this video. I'm currently using this type of SOME BY MI sunscreen and want to know which is better from the two

As a beginner for sunscreen I bought both of them even before seeing your video 😆
I prefer Axis Y physical sunscreen coz it's has no denat alcohol, no fragrance and no essential oils. No white cast on my dark skin tone.
Is that the reformulated one. Because apparently the old one was great on people of color too in terms of white cast, but the new one leaves a cast even on lighter dark skin people
Dr V Unzincable is great!
I have used D'Alba mineral sunscreen and it actually irritates some parts of my face, specially around my chin.
Im using now the same product the some by mi. Its a good mineral suncreen
I have tried both but my fav is Some By Mi.
Whitecast dia ketara/nampak tak kat skin tone sawo matang ni?

If physical sunscreen only stays on the skin, would it stay on the skin long enough for continuous swimming? Reapplying should be after 1 or 2 hours?
No, you still need to reapply. Nothing truly stays on the skin
