The differences of battle mode deserve their own video as there are so many. Which has led to the speculation that the battle arenas are from the beta versions of the game worlds. Also, great job explaining the differences from the PC and console versions of the game to someone who has solely played the PC version.
I know this video is a year old, but I found that in the ps2 version of the game, if you hold L1 + R1 at the same time while doing a midair flat spin or front or back flip, you'll get a lot more points than just holding one and doing a complex flip. it also slows your spin/flip speed down a lot, but I found that in speed runs, holding L1 + R1 while doing quick partial spins off small obstacles for points built boost points way faster than normal flat spins or basic flips!
You forgot some differences. GameCube = colors too dark Ps2 = colors too faded PC = The cars have no shine nor reflection (except for the Attitude, that car is already matte on GameCube and Ps2)
I love watching you pick this game apart. I learned a ton of new things about this game in this video alone. I'll never get tired of Velocity X content!
childhood gammee this matchbox emergancy patrol, and legoland (pc) thanks for still making videos on it!!! at 3:31 I remember glitching through that same alleyway!!! on battlemode and glitching through another battle map as a kid on the pc mode and when i came back to this game on gamecube i was confused why those glitches didn't work now it finally makes sense!!!
As always, great video game. You forgot that the Gameboy Advance version of this game has only single player as well and it was released on Halloween of 2002. Also, some of the cars are blocked off in the GameCube version such as At-A-Tude, Overbored 454, and Twin Mill 2 because you have to connect it with the Gameboy Advance version of the game. I am sorry that UA-cam had to take down your tutorial on how to download the pc version of the game, maybe you can send a link in your replies.
I have the PC version of velocity x and I’ve encountered some glitches, like in battle mode, warehouse district, there was a glitch were I accidentally went out of bounds and fallen in to darkness, and another glitch I found where in mission 9, greased Lightnin glitched up in the air.
i wish somebody would make a rom hack of this game - how cool would it be if somebody created a model for Slingshot and Sweet Sixteen II? and making it possible for alternate colors on all the cars :)
I remember putting a button command at the loading screen then when the mission starts the car is white. It’s a vague memory does anyone know what I’m talking about?
I have a mixed feelings about glitches, there are gamebraking ones to minor visuals ones, personally i like most glitches in this video and it's kinda sad to see some glitches being fixed in console versions but i can see why the devs fixed then. Still sad tho.
Glitching in this game is usually pretty fun, so yeah it can suck to see some of them not possible on console. Some of them I can see why they may have patched it (like the trees close to the wall in Crankshaft Bay - someone could accidently get out of bounds during the Bay Street Race), but some of the glitches are more out of the way so I don't really see much reason for them being patched. It is funny though when they try to patch something but it's still possible, like the Ghost Town Race mountain out of bounds trick which they attempted to make not possible. Regardless, there are still a decent amount of glitches possible in all versions of the game, at least.

True. The GameCube version is definitely way darker than the PC version. I like the PC version more because it's the most vibrant in terms of colors.

I played as a kid on the ps2 and now i am re-playing on PC this explain why theres a voice in my head telling that something was off
The PS2 intro was the best.
they probably edited the crankshaft docks warehouses and added the cement mixer just to spruce the area up cuz it was pretty barren in the original

They should of done online multiplayer for pc imo.
